Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 106: A Family Reclaimed
Chapter 106: A Family Reclaimed
The "family" he had cherished so deeply in his past life wasn’t lost after all.
"I see... I’m sorry," Rocco said, his voice soft. "I misunderstood you, Father, and you also, Brother..."
Rocco slumped his shoulders apologetically, muttering a soft "sorry."
However, the moment he did that, both Sylas and his father panicked, shouting in unison, "That’s not true!"
Their sudden outburst startled Rocco, who nearly jumped out of his skin.
"We truly did resent you at first," his father admitted solemnly. "So none of this is your fault, Rocco. If anything, we’re the ones who owe you an apology. We hurt you, pushed you away, and then dragged you into all of this... We’re deeply sorry."
The two bowed their heads so low, it seemed like they were about to grovel.
Alarmed, Rocco quickly leapt into action, scrambling to stop them.
"No, no, no!" he exclaimed, throwing his small arms around them both. "That’s not okay! You can’t just go around doing that! You’re the Mafia boss and Mafia heir! You can’t bow to someone like me!"
Rocco’s attempt to prevent them from lowering themselves further led to him hugging them tightly instead.
However then, to his surprise, the two grown men began to tremble under his grasp.
"Oh, Rocco..." Sylas murmured, his voice quivering. "You’re comforting us... You’re accepting us..."
"What a gentle soul," his father added, though his tone quickly took a sharp turn. "To keep the vultures away, I’ll build a luxurious cage just for Rocco and lock him safely inside at once."
Rocco blinked, briefly stunned by his father’s ominous remark, but decided to let it slide.
Instead, he squeezed them both even tighter in an affectionate hug.
To his delight, the two men softened, their expressions melting into genuine smiles.
Seeing their happiness made Rocco’s heart swell.
"Mm, yes," Rocco said with a firm nod. "I love you both too—Father, Sylas. You’re my precious family, so from now on, I’ll protect you both!"
It wasn’t mere flattery; Rocco meant every word.
They were finally a family that truly cared for one another, and as the coolest member of this family, he felt it was his duty to look after them.
Puffing out his chest with pride, Rocco expected praise for his bold declaration.
But instead of the expected Wow, amazing or Rocco, you’re so cool!, the two men froze in place, their expressions oddly stiff.
"Hmph," Rocco huffed in mild irritation.
"...I see. I see now..." his father muttered, nodding, his voice full of emotion.
"So adorable," Sylas whispered, his tone soft yet resolute.
The word "adorable" made Rocco bristle, but as the ultra-cool and exceedingly generous person he was, he decided to let it slide.
"Yes, yes, that’s right!" Rocco declared, ignoring their reactions. "I’m cool. Very cool!"
With a self-satisfied grin, Rocco nodded his head emphatically, his mood soaring.
Meanwhile, Sylas and his father could only watch in silence, their faces a mixture of awe and exasperated affection.
After clearing up the misunderstanding with his family, Rocco returned to his room in high spirits, practically skipping the whole way.
Even after dinner that evening, his elation didn’t fade.
He couldn’t stop smiling, overjoyed at having grown closer to his precious family.
Although, truth be told, their dinner together had been mostly silent and a little awkward.
Still, the important thing was that everything had been resolved for the better.
As Rocco flopped onto his bed, he suddenly recalled something.
Wait a minute, what happens to the storyline now?
Things had already deviated significantly from the original story.
However more importantly, the major point—the infamous downfall of the "villain boss," which had been Rocco’s fate in the beginning—seemed to have been avoided altogether.
Or at least, Rocco hoped it had been.
The thought made a small wave of uncertainty rise in his chest.
However, no matter how much he worried about it, there was little he could do.
With a sigh, he let the concern fade.
Most likely, the original ending for his mother remained unchanged.
If his earlier goals since reincarnation were anything to go by, he had managed to escape his own tragic ending.
Rocco felt a twinge of guilt for his mother.
It was undeniably sad, and he couldn’t entirely shake the weight of it.
But after talking with his father and Sylas, he’d come to realize that much of what happened was her own doing.
She had caused undeniable harm to his father and Sylas.
For that, she needed to face the consequences.
"...I’m so tired," Rocco murmured.
His thoughts drifted from his mother to his family and back again.
Everything that had happened, all the emotions he’d felt—it was exhausting just to think about it.
With a soft sigh, Rocco sank his head into the pillow.
Maybe I’ll just sleep early tonight, he thought as sleepiness crept over him.
He closed his eyes, surrendering to the heavy pull of rest, when suddenly, something appeared.
"Young Master."
"Whoa!" Rocco yelped.
A large shadow loomed out of his blind spot, startling him so much he jolted upright with a jump that could rival a trampoline.
He immediately felt embarrassed by his own reaction, his cheeks began to flush.
It took a few seconds for his mind to catch up.
When he recognized the voice as a familiar one, Rocco relaxed, his tension ebbing away.
After he sitting up, he turned his head and saw the imposing figure of a Beastman standing by his bedside with his furry ears twitching slightly.
Rocco tilted his head in confusion.
"Ragar? What are you doing here at this hour? It’s rare for you to visit at night."
The one who appeared was none other than Ragar, the towering, fluffy Beastman.
Ragar was, by nature, a reasonable and level-headed person.
It was entirely out of character for him to appear at night like this.
If it had been Georgio, that would have been another story entirely.
With that thought in mind, Rocco sluggishly climbed out of bed and opened his arms wide.
