Hollywood Zenith-Chapter 1266: Resolve-2
"I will appreciate if you tell others about this. I might be able to counter poison but it hurts a lot and puts me in a vulnerable position." His words were sincere but she could feel the slight threat in its undertone.
If it was before, she might have said something but now her best weapon was countered, she didn't know if she would be strong enough to kill him.
Beside, the second elder also tried, no matter how open he was, he broke through their ranks and killed almost everyone from that party.
Elder might not have said anything but it was clear, she wouldn't have survived if he didn't spared her and her few captains.
"I think, I answered all of your questions."
"No, there is one more. You should have escaped, what are you planning by sticking around here?"
Samuel's smile grew wider but it didn't reach his eyes. It was more predatory and devious, nothing like the calm and composed man from before. She wanted to take a step back but she realised she was sitting down, leaning back will make her fall over which will be shameful.
"I am sorry but that's yet to be decided beside, I don't find this place to be that impressive. You rely on superior technology to stay hidden which gives you critical advantage but without the mask, all your secrets are for me to see. Won't you share some with me?" It wasn't a request. Talia did tell him about whispers of what exactly went down in this place.
It was more of a experimentation base than a place for the clan to operate in Europe. He might have thought about milder options but just the thoughts of more people like Talia going through the same thing filled him with rage. What he wanted to know was how much blood needed to be shed to counter balance the lives lost in this place.
Ariel's answer would either doom or soare this place from his hands. She stared at him for few seconds, when she looked at Talia the other person just shrugged. Talis might be loud and rash but this doesn't seem like the time for her to speak.
"You are Talia's half sister so I will try not to harm you or your people granted they were not involved in the experiments."
Hearing his words, Ariel smiled bitterly. Although, she was not well versed but she did infact witnessed many such atrocities sometimes by force and on later times just to see her master smile.
Feeling sympathy for those victims was a regular occurrence but it never went beyond the threshold of her betraying her creed. Only now her master started teaching various formulas and her 'art' fully believing that her student would be the one to further her studies or even perfecting it for their greater cause but it always hung like a burden over her head.
Was she guilty ignoring thise dozen people that were experimented on in her presence? Was she guilty when she didn't even bat an eye believing it was for the greater good of the clan? They were not there experiments but more like executions, it was clear if one look d at the data.
Only four sucessful Vishkanyas created after her, there were few more but they died during missions. When counting the thousands they sacrificed over decade the probability looked staggering even worse than some old plagues!
"I first want to say that I didn't call you here believing to be saved. Unlike Talia who was a normal member of the clan without much exposure to what actually went behind the scenes, what happened to her did disturbed me and you were the only one that I can think of as crazy enough to come and save her." She paused.
"Regarding what goes in here, you can find everything in the archives. The history is too long for me to say it to you and if you are asking about the people responsible than I am afraid to inform you everyone here is just as guilty as anyone else except those four girls. They are only taught basic things and their absence right now is clear sign that my master don't want to burden their young mind with her responsibility."
Samuel remained impassive but there was a huge turmoil in his heart. Even since he met these people no, even before he met them, there was a similar issue that arose with the integration of AXA guild, Zero and others were also criminals even more prominent than them but for the advancement if his influence he chose to integrate them rather than annihilating them.
But now their relationship is strained and he doesn't know what they are upto. There are conflicting reports making everyone suspicious about their intentions but as long as they are useful to him, he didn't want to discard them.
Would he face similar dilemma here? Can he spare these hundred or so people? He didn't hve an answer. He simply stood up and placed the map on the table asking Ariel to mark the archives.
"Are you sure? It's the most secured place-"
"I am sure.It something happens to me, you can simply leave with Talia. I will survive, believe in me." He could see Talia standing up to protest but he gently brushed her face to calm her down. If he said he would come back alive then she believed him.
"I will be back after few hours. Just make sure no one sees her like this. I need some information to decided...my judgement." His words were clam but she could feel the weight hidden in them
If he did read everything, she knew what he will chose.Any sane person would chose the same route but would he be able to do what countless enemies failed to do for two millennia?
She didn't know what gave him such confidence but looking at his disappearing back, she too started to become expectant of the miracles he would show her in the future.
