Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage-Chapter 1106: Aether’s Awakening
"Please wait here. The Young Lord will be here soon." The guard escorted Karyk to a garden within the palace.
In the middle of the garden, there was a small glass table. On the table, a cup of tea was placed, as if waiting for the guest. Two chairs were arranged on either side of the table for the arranged meeting.
"Please don't leave this garden, as this is the only place you have access to for the meeting," the guard informed Karyk, before opening a portal to return. "If you want anything else to eat or drink while waiting, just clap twice and a servant will help you."
After he finished, the guard stepped into the portal and disappeared, leaving Karyk behind. For the first time, Karyk had some privacy where he didn't feel as if he was being watched.
He could feel that there was no one to keep an eye on him inside the garden, but there were still quite a few powerful presences outside.
The guards outside the garden were even stronger than the one who had escorted him. But more than that, he sensed an even more powerful aura that felt very distant.
Even though that person was far from him, their aura still felt suffocating. Karyk grew even more certain that the Time Lord was in this palace at the moment, albeit in a completely different part of it.
"It seems like he's with his father, discussing it." Karyk took a seat next to the table, lost in thought.
He had already guessed that he was going to be late. He didn't expect to stop the Time Lord's son from informing his father. The only reason he came here was to learn about the real whereabouts of the Aether as well.
He started waiting for the young man to arrive. While waiting, he took a sip of the tea that was placed before him. He didn't care about poisons, as none of them were effective on him.
...
Meanwhile, the Time Lord was walking with his son, who was telling him about the things that he went through inside the Realm of Aether.
"That is the Aether?"
The Time Lord came to a sudden halt, his expressions fluctuating between surprise and shock. "Are you certain?"
"There is no doubt about it. That's the Aether that we had been looking for. It's the realm behind the Great Calamity, and everything that the world went through. I was able to verify everything through the memories of the corpse that was there when it happened."
The young man still felt a chill run down his spine the moment he thought about the things that he had seen. It was a truly frightening sight. There was no doubt about him that he would be dead if he was there at that point in time.
He had heard of Great Calamity many times in his life. Many people had tried to guess the origins of that calamity, but only no one managed to learn anything about it. That calamity just appeared like a nightmare out of nothingness.
Only now, he managed to learn that the source of Calamity was the very precise thing that they had been searching for all this time.
The boy brought out a soul crystal from his pocket. He already knew that his father might find it hard to believe his words, so he already prepared for that.
He activated the soul crystal, and used the memories of the corpse as fuel. The crystal started shining brightly, and many scenes started flashing, like a movie had been playing on an illusory screen before them.

The scene showed a man, who looked like he had been extremely worn out. The Time Lord recognized that man as the person who had stolen the Aether. It was a crazy man.
Many powerful families from that era had gone after that man, to kill him. It was a gruesome war, where many families were completely destroyed. Even those survivors were forced to flee.
After that, those families planned to return with even greater strength to kill that crazy man, but the Great Calamity appeared before that could put their plan into motion.
The world was tossed into disarray and no one had time to care about that world. By the time they dealt with the calamity, the world order was left in shambles.
After recovering to some extent, the Families tried to return to that world, but they found the world to be missing.
There were only a few portals that led to that realm, but only those under a certain age range could enter through that portal, and that too, using the keys made from the bones of Aetherians.
The Time Lord knew everything that happened in that era, but it was the first time he saw what happened to that man.
After he won the war and sent the families fleeing for more preparation, he sealed this world. He was the one who created that restriction around the world using his own soul as he knew that he wasn't going to live long to protect this world.
On the verge of death, and in his last breath, he returned to the Angel's corpse, which was made into a residence by him.
He sat next to an object that the Time Lord believed to be the Aether. The man was on the verge of death, still he embraced the Aether and talked to it as if he was talking to a child.
He told the Aether that he was going to be leaving this world, and that he was extremely regretful that he couldn't completely awaken the Aether.
Everything seemed somewhat normal up to that point, until the man actually died with Aether still in his embrace. At that moment, the Aether started turning darker, its luster becoming lost in the process.
It was as if the loss of the man had affected the Aether a lot, especially since it had spent so much time with him. The man had become something like a family.
Even if Aether wasn't alive, it was reacting at the loss. The entire Aetherian Realm trembled, as multiple cracks appeared on Aether and it started walking up.
