House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 133: Author’s Note: Drakken’s Powers and Abilities
Chapter 133 - Author’s Note: Drakken’s Powers and Abilities
This is going to be a rough summary of Drakken's abilities so far in the story and what he's capable of.
Physical Abilities:
- Super Strength: He's got strength superior to everyone in the world and is clearly above even Dragons in term of raw strength. While he doesn't display his upmost limits in his current state, he's still capable of incredible feats.
- Enhanced Speed and Reflexes: While not as extreme as his strength, his speed and agility are superior to those of this world. He can dodge any attack thrown at him whether he chooses to do so or not.
- Regeneration: Considering he is immortal, Drakken has a powerful regenerative factor that activates automatically. While he can activate his sorcery to instantly repair any part of his body, he combines it with his regeneration to have almost instant results. The speed of this regeneration is inconsistent currently and he relies on using his "Repair" to instantly heal himself as stated.
- Superior Combat Skills: Taking away his Sorcery, Super Strength, and Regeneration, Drakken is still a very skilled warrior should he decide to fight using weapons. He has many decades worth of experience.
During the Drakken Games, he was simply too rusty to fight properly and the purpose of that is to force his body to remember. He was severely weakened as a whole and wanted a proper fight to reawaken his skills.
Calamity: Dragon God
- Draconic Manipulation and Control: Having the Dragon God Calamity gives Drakken absolute dominion of anything draconic. If its concept is that of a dragon's or similar, The Calamity grants him power and control over it.
While ASOIAF Dragons are technically wyverns (even according to him), they still have draconic power, which is why he wants to drain them.
- Draconic Creation: Given enough power and resources, Drakken can create any draconic being thay can be modified to his liking. The limits of the creatures always vary and depend on the situation it was created im. (example: Ammaria has less limits than The Guardian as she was created and linked to the Dark Shade)
- Black Ether Perpetuality: Black Ether is the Calamitous version of Ether (Source of Magic in Infernis), which allow Calamities to operate. Black Ether Perpetuality essentially allows the user to have infinitely growing Black Ether that, in theory, should never run out.(but requires some conditions)
Drakken, at the start of the story, was severely weakened due to breaking free of the Scar Kings' Prison and being ripped apart from the Soulway (Interdimensional Vortex). This meant thay he had slivers of Black Ether and while the Perpetuality was working (Very slowly), he needed a kickstart.
This is where the Draconic power comes in and he needed to drain the Targaryens and their dragons. This boosted the Perpetuality and allows him to "infinitely" create Black Ether. This doesn't mean that in his current state he can constantly spam powerful spells, they take a lot of power, hence why he has created The Obelisk and The Dark Shade.
He is nowhere near his Prime.
Sorcery:
He wields powerful sorcery that he primarily uses rather than his Calamity. Sorcery and Calamity abilities are separate. Most of these sorceries are granted by his Dragons.
- Telekinesis: He uses a very powerful Telekinesis, allowing him to freely control any physical object in his vicinity. He mostly uses this to instill dominance on others by pinning them to the ground, forcing them to look up at him.
- Teleportation: He currently uses a severely limited version of this Sparial Sorcery that lets him transport himself and one other person at a limited range. The set rane is inconsistent and even Drakken gets frustrated by it.
- Flame Sorcery: Basic Elemental Sorcery that Drakken has access to but doesn't use much.
- Lightning Sorcery: Like flame sorcery, it is a basic sorcery that he doesn't use much.
- Blood Sorcery: Probably the main sorcery behind the most of his current power. This sorcery allows him to manipulate blood and control their properties but most importantly, it grants him the ability of "Divine Blood Pact" which was taught to him by Viktor, his Vampire "Brother" back in Infernis.
With the Blood Pact, he basically can use Blood Rituals to grant powers and blessings to his followers here in this world. While he can do thay freely at his Prime, he uses both Blood Sorcery and his War Sorcery to achieve this.
His Blood Sorcery is potent but only uses it for the Blood Pact, ignoring the rest of the uses. He can use the utmost capabilities that his curren limits offer which range from Blood Manipulation, Blood Transmutation, to other abilities he doesn't seem interested.
(Should be noted that this is purely due to his personality)
- War Sorcery: A very powerful Sorcery that allows him to have complete control of the concept of War. While this is a very complex Sorcery, the summarization of this power will be rather short.
The current limitations of this power are as followed:
• Can create a "Battlefield" which allow complete dominion of it. Anyone who are fighting within the Battlefield are under the control of the War God.
• Anyone who dies in this Battlefield are now subject to be resurrected by the War God and now subservient to Drakken.(this power is combined with his Death Sorcery)
• Drakken has complete manipulation of the Battlefield which allows him to physically change it.
• The more fighting that happens, the more "power" that is added to the Battlefield, allowing Drakken to siphon that power for himself or simply use it for something else.
Cutting Sorcery: Probably his most used Sorcery. Allows him to "cut" any physical object. It is basically him converting his Black Ether into invisible sliced and slashes that he can fire off anywhere within his vision.
-Shred: A continuous wave of slashes that can obliterate anything and anyone he targets.
- Parry: Using the concept of a blade, Drakken can parry any weapon with this. From any direction, as long as he is aware of the attack, the parry will be successful.

Death Sorcery: Currently his most potent and most valuable sorcery. While this doesn't affect his Immortality, it allows him to make others "pseudo-immortal". This sorcery grants him dominion of the concept of "Death" which allows him to prevent anyone from dying or allows him to instantly kill anyone he chooses.
- Repair: Since fatal wounds are a main cause of "Death", Repair allows him to regenerate any organic material in order to prevent anyone from dying. This is merely a bonus effect of the Death Sorcery and the target does not need to be alive or near death. This is basically a grotesque and less pretty version of Healing Sorcery and more like "Targeted External Regeneration"
- Mark of Immortality: A mark that as long as its activated, grants Immortality to anyone and anything.
What makes the Immortality "pseudo" is that the Mark requires to be active at all times. The Mark grants a weak version of regeneration to the Marked.
Drakken mostly used this to tortures others, constantly "killing" them and repairing their bodies while they feel every ounce of pain.
Due to this needing constant magic power, Drakken has the Dark Shade fuel most active Marks (Mya, Daranne, and Maegelle).
His sons have inherent marks thay are linked to his Calamity, making them immortal until they mature enough to awaken their own.
A/ N: This is Part 1 as I am currently at work while writing this.
Just something I thought of randomly. Hope this clears some stuff up.
Drakken is nowhere near his "Prime".
In Part 2, I will discuss his Dragons and the current limitations of his Dragon Calamity.
