I Am A Wizard Who Can Travel Between Earth And The Other World-Chapter 102 - 104 An Invitation to Power
Andrella Willex's gaze hardened as she spoke firmly to her party planner.
"This party must be perfect—no mistakes.
I I want you to triple-check the guest list and eliminate any possibility of awkward encounters."
"Understood, my lady. We're already in the process of reviewing everything," the planner responded with a respectful nod.
"Review it again. Even when you think it's flawless, check it once more. Do you hear me?"
"Of course," he answered without hesitation.
Andrella's heart raced with anticipation. This was no ordinary gathering—it was a rare opportunity. Owen Frieden and Kyrie Lynchfield, heirs of two of the five most powerful families, would both be attending. If she could forge a lasting connection with them, her influence and status would soar to heights far beyond her current reach.
This time, failure was not an option.
The anticipation was unbearable; the night of the party couldn't come soon enough.
The evening of the charity gala finally arrived. Gin sat quietly in the passenger seat as his associate, Jay, drove toward the Willex estate.
The car glided through increasingly opulent neighborhoods, their surroundings becoming eerily familiar to Gin.
He realized they were nearing the district where the Frieden family mansion was located.
Jay grinned as he turned the car at the first major intersection.
"Looks like you've been here before. This is West Ham's elite quarter.
The deeper you go, the grander the families. Only the true aristocracy live here."
His grin widened as he continued.
"Though we turned early this time.
This road leads to the residence of the Willex family's youngest daughter. The main Willex mansion is much further in.
The daughters each have their own estates scattered along this area."
Gin gave a noncommittal nod, uninterested in the intricacies of noble family geography.
"You're really going to attend dressed like that?" Jay asked, eyeing Gin's attire with concern. "This is a party for the upper class. You should at least be wearing a tuxedo."
"They said the atmosphere would be more like a club," Gin replied.
Jay chuckled knowingly.
"Ah, that makes sense. Lady Willex is known to have a taste for such things."
Their conversation drifted into trivialities until they finally arrived at the Willex estate.
The gates stood wide open, and several guards—clearly enhanced by either magical or physical prowess—stood watch. Gin handed over his invitation, and after a brief inspection, the guards allowed the car to proceed.
As the car pulled up to the entrance, a striking figure awaited them—Andrella Willex herself. Clad in form-fitting trousers and a sleek tank top, she exuded an air of relaxed elegance.
Yet, as Gin caught a glimpse of the interior through the open doors, he realized she was modestly dressed compared to the crowd inside.
Men lounged shirtless, and many women wore bikinis as if prepared for an extravagant poolside celebration.
Andrella's eyes sparkled as she approached Gin, linking her arm with his in a gesture that felt both casual and intimate.
"Welcome. It's strange... this is our first meeting, yet you already seem so familiar. I've seen your photos so many times," she said with a playful smile.
"Tonight, you'll stay by my side, won't you? I'm counting on you."
"Of course," Gin replied with an amused expression.
Though he maintained his composure, this type of gathering was entirely foreign to him.
He had spent much of his life immersed in the pursuit of magic, with little interest in worldly distractions. But that was in his old world.
In this hidden realm, he craved new experiences, a desire that drove him to take on commissions like this one.
Inside, pulsating music filled the air, its rhythm both invigorating and strangely soothing. Gin's senses sharpened instinctively. His magical awareness revealed that most of the guests were either mages or individuals with extraordinary abilities.
"How do you like it? Not bad, right?" Andrella asked, watching his reaction.
"It's... lively," Gin answered, glancing around with curiosity.
Andrella tightened her hold on his arm slightly, her subtle movements speaking of practiced charm.
She knew exactly how to captivate men and intended to take her time weaving her spell on him tonight.
They wandered deeper into the estate, where vibrant lights and revelers surrounded an expansive pool area.
Guests lounged in the water with drinks in hand, basking in the party's electrifying yet decadent atmosphere.
As they moved through the crowd, Andrella drew constant attention. Guests approached her in waves, exchanging pleasantries and sharing laughter. Gin watched the interactions carefully, his body unconsciously tensing each time.
Noticing his alertness, Andrella chuckled softly.
"Relax. I invited you as my partner, not my bodyguard. There's no need to be so vigilant. This place is perfectly safe."
"Understood," Gin replied, loosening his stance. His instincts, honed by countless dangerous encounters, had temporarily overridden his awareness of the event's purpose.
Before he could fully relax, however, an unexpected presence approached. Andrella's eyes lit up with surprise and delight.
"Ah! You're finally here! Welcome!" she exclaimed.
The newcomer was none other than Kyrie Lynchfield. With a curt nod to Andrella, Kyrie's gaze shifted to Gin.
"Gin Mage... you have quite a bold fashion sense," she remarked dryly.
Gin tilted his head in mild confusion.
"I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I'll take it as a compliment."
Andrella blinked, glancing between the two of them in astonishment.
"Wait... you two know each other?"
"We worked on a commission together recently," Gin explained.
"Ah, so it was through business," Andrella mused, her curiosity piqued.
Kyrie arched an eyebrow and asked, "How did you and Lady Willex meet?"
"Another commission," Gin answered simply.
"Hmm... I see," Kyrie muttered, casting a thoughtful glance at Andrella.
Before the conversation could deepen, Gin's eyes widened as he spotted yet another familiar figure approaching.
"Look who's here!" he said, gesturing toward the entrance.
Both women turned to see Owen Frieden strolling toward them with a broad, relaxed smile.
"Well, this party just became even more interesting,"
Andrella murmured, her excitement unmistakable.
