I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game-Chapter 100 Identity Exposure
Qiao Suisui didn't know what to say when the door to the sickroom opened, and Ruka strode in, coming straight over to embrace her.
The man's embrace was so tight that she could clearly hear the drum-like heartbeat coming from his chest, vigorous and rapid.
"Ruka, I'm fine."
She looked up to comfort him, but heard Ruka speak first, "Let's go back first, Leberli is waiting for us at the Imperial Court."
"Back to the Imperial Court?" She thought the incident had scared them both terribly and quickly explained, "Really, I'm fine, and it doesn't hurt anymore. Just resting back at the small building will do."
Ruka's brow was furrowed with lingering worry as he said, "Suisui, your identity has been exposed."
Carl was startled and asked, "What identity?"
Ruka opened his light computer, and a transparent electronic screen as thin as a cicada's wing was projected directly into the air. The image that appeared first was the front page of the Interstellar Weekly, which detailed Qiao Suisui's identity as an Ancient Human, and even included medical records from her visit to the Royal Hospital as evidence. The front-page photo was a profile shot of her taken last week when Zong Fang had taken her to a banquet. The photo was clearly retouched to clearly show her face.
Surprise filled Carl's eyes; he had always thought Suisui was just a precious viviparous female and had not expected this additional identity. He frowned immediately and looked at Ruka, seeing overt concern in the other's expression.
The exposure of her identity as an Ancient Human... that meant Suisui would be contested by various powers and placed under strict control.
Ruka stroked her head, "Don't be afraid, Leberli is meeting with the Federation's top brass to discuss your future."
Qiao Suisui frowned, "What do you mean by my future? Are you going to send me back to the Soter Research Center?"
Ruka was uncharacteristically silent.
He didn't want to tell her that he and Leberli had been privately striving for Qiao Suisui to permanently reside in Auslan, and the Federation had made concessions because Leberli exchanged resources from the Auslan Empire, which is why she hadn't been returned to the Research Center immediately. Additionally, Zong Fang's stance wasn't particularly firm, so there had never been a specific discussion about her residency; all three parties had turned a blind eye.
But this morning, first the Interstellar Weekly broke the news, followed by a minor manager of the Ancient Human Research Center calling an open press conference, stating that the research on Ancient Humans had been at a standstill and urging public opinion to pressure the Soter Republic, with the prevailing sentiment now being one-sided, demanding that the Federation step in to protect Ancient Humans and escort them back to the Research Center.
Leberli was originally going to come and take her back, but on the way, he had to head straight to the Federation. What was said to be a meeting was actually an unknown negotiation.
Qiao Suisui had already taken out her light computer to search and was trembling with anger as she watched the public press conference video.
"I know him... he's Zong Fang's assistant..."
She heard her heart beating chaotically, as myriad thoughts surged forth.
Realizing what was happening, Carl asked Ruka, "Is this a trap set by Zong Fang? Otherwise, it's too coincidental. The scandal breaks and then they hold a press conference right after. Does he want to force her back to Soter?"
Ruka's expression grew more serious, and he did not deny it. He drew Qiao Suisui close, and noticing that her body was trembling slightly, held her face tenderly and said, "Don't jump to conclusions. Why not go directly to him and ask for clarification?"
"Okay." She tried to regulate her breathing, but the heaviness in her heart did not dissipate, feeling like she had been betrayed by someone she trusted a lot, yet was unwilling to believe it.
Afterward, Ruka took Qiao Suisui onto the flying ship. Carl, because of his duties, couldn't accompany them and before leaving, he gave her Kai's contact information, telling her not to hesitate to inconvenience this person. He was worried that if he was out on a mission and she experienced any trouble, he wouldn't be able to appear in time, so he specifically instructed Kai to help if he could.
Kai asked with a look of anticipatory delight, "That's fine, buddy, you really trust me, huh? Aren't you afraid that your sweetheart will fall for me?"
Carl cast him a glance and casually picked up a reflective object, holding it up to his face and said, "She's picky; she doesn't even like me, let alone you?"
Meanwhile, at the Interstellar Strategy Academy.
Seeing Li Yi return, Anubis immediately asked, "Did you find him?"
Li Yi shook his head, his face looking not too good, "The academy has already transferred Simon to the hospital, and I've turned over the library's grounds..." He looked down, masking the guilt on his face, "I shouldn't have kept communicating with my family nonstop; otherwise, I wouldn't have missed Qiao's call. He only knows us at the school, he must have called looking for help at that time..."
Anubis clenched his fist and strode out, with Li Yi hurrying to catch up and asking, "Anubis, where are you going? Didn't you just search the entire school?"
"To find Dr. Li, he must know something."
As they were about to step out of the door, they pulled it open only to see a tall man with silver hair hesitating whether to knock.
Li Yi, puzzled, asked, "Who are you looking for?"
The man didn't speak, his coat's high collar concealing the lower half of his face, revealing only a pair of cold, silver eyes. Those eyes looked straight past Li Yi and stared intently at Anubis.
Anubis also stared back at the man for a few seconds before finally remembering where he had seen him.
"Are you here for Qiao? Or have you already found him? How is he now? Is he hurt?"
This was the first time Li Yi heard Anubis speak so many words in one breath. He was also wondering what the relationship between this man and Qiao was, so he looked him over but noticed that although the man's expression didn't change, the air around him suddenly turned colder.
"What do you mean 'is she hurt'?" Zong Fang spoke, his voice husky.
Anubis was taken aback and then realized that he didn't know Qiao's whereabouts either, indicating that their relationship wasn't very close, so he didn't waste any more time and without another word, left. Li Yi scurried along.
"Please, excuse me."
The young man walked past the man, their gazes clashing invisibly in the air, then diverging, both filled with an indestructible coldness and intensity.
Zong Fang watched the two hurry away, their figures disappearing around the corner, his silver eyes brimming with even more killing intent.
He took out his light computer and pressed it, causing Ah Jin, who was busy directing the engineers to repair the library, to jump at the sudden intrusion of the call.
Without asking, he knew who was calling... Ah Jin closed his eyes, placed his hand over his heart, and silently offered a fervent prayer.
"Where is she?"
"Dr. Zong Fang, I'm at the libr..."
"Not asking you, where is she?"

Ah Jin was stunned. Hadn't Dr. Li already personally explained the situation to the Auslan Royal Family, with Colonel Sikoses from the Military Department present? Didn't they share information with each other? Ah Jin could only endure and explain the whole situation again. To his astonishment, the other side remained silent.
"Hello? Dr. Zong Fang? Hello?"
After a long pause, a voice came from the other side, "Where's Simon?"
"Oh, at United Hospital. Don't worry, Dr. Li has handled it. A little skirmish between students won't escalate to the families, so the Simon family accepted the punishment and promised there won't be any more... Hello?"
Ah Jin sighed at the abruptly initiated and terminated communication, then went back to his work directing the engineers.
Less than an hour later, he received another call, this time from Dr. Li.
"Was it you who told Zong Fang?"
"Ah?"
Dr. Li let out a deep sigh and said, "Simon is dead."
