I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 268: The Best for Anouk
Chapter 268: The Best for Anouk
Zero stood in the middle of the clearing. He had gone out of the body of the poor fellow he had transmigrated into and into the body of Lincoln Sands. A wealthy third-generation spendthrift in the Capital.
His trusted bird was hovering above the clearing that he had purchased in an audition. It had been over two months and everything was almost ready.
Pitter-patter!
Thunderous rumbles echoed through the air. The circle had grown to be the size of three watermelons. Boundless darkness circled within. The darkness so deep that it seemed to be capable of seeping into one’s soul. Every few seconds, a cluster of light would pass within the circle and then vanish.
He took a deep breath and entered inside the circle. Without light, it was tough for his naked eyes to track their movement so Zero closed his eyes and activated his mental energy inside.
He had created this door to build a Nest and draw Alvar here but with the kind of creatures in here this Star 1047, Earth might be destroyed and he would be punished.
Not to mention he was sure he saw Ravi here. Ravi West! The number one Sentinel on the ranking.
Because of that, Zero had changed his location and initial plan, moving over halfway across Avalon just so that their paths would not cross.
To complete a mission, Ravi West would do anything. To defeat Granhim, the demon at Luxor, every member of his team had died. They said that Ravi West could siphon energy from people to grow even stronger.
Zero swallowed, he was definitely not going to come in contact with that half-Sentinel that he was sure was already halfway to becoming a demon.
However, this is not the time to think about Ravi West, he was in the middle of the battle. He could feel the dark shadows in the dark moving. As usual, the first creatures that would sense a cosmic gate are this kind of creature. The black shadows were actually monsters that resembled Chutthlu, their long tentacles moving in the circle.
They are known as the Marex.
Zero raised his talisman and a shield appeared, falling like a dune, it covered the entire space in the circle, trapping him with the creatures.
The Marex instinctively noticed that they were trapped and their tentacles spread like petals. Strands of energy congregated, forming an energy ball visible to the naked eye. They fired the energy repeatedly like a canon.
The shields trembled and shook. Ripples appeared on their surface but they still held strong throughout the attack.
It made the Marex get even angrier and their tentacles waved unceasingly, forming waves of flowing light that blasted against the shield, causing it to shake violently.
Zero took out another card and murmured, ’Blast’ in the Dharma Epistle. Countless energy gathered at his hand, forming a powerful current of power that basted out. Devastation followed everywhere it went and the Marex were forcefully disintegrated into the most basic energy particles that would serve as bait to more creatures in the universe.
He hesitated and then took out another card, whispering a word and placing it in the middle of the space.
Looking around and ensuring that everything was going just the way he wanted. Zero stepped out of the space.
How many children should he kidnap? Ten, twenty. Just thinking about it made Zero’s lips twitch slightly.
His plan was foolproof. He had been pondering for the two past months and he had even found the identity of Alvar. He had a good life on Earth, he was born to a wealthy family that was stepped in good values and he had lived his life protecting the weak and amassing good karma.
It was as if someone had deliberately placed him here and in this situation. If he should live as he is doing now and die, there is no doubt that he would reincarnate into a being that people would kill to become. He might even reincarnate as an immortal depending on how much good merits he can amass.
The planet was even protected so that no Sentinel, Immortal, or Demon could cause a ruckus here.
It was a pity. Someone had paid a dear price just so that he would make sure that Anouk never reincarnated with such a stainless profile on his soul. His mission was simple, ’Make him commit a grievous sin and kill him before he has a chance to repent.’
The amount was just too much for him to resist or for anyone to say no. If he had not taken the mission, someone else would take it.
Besides Zero had even checked as best as he could for any information on Alvar. The only one he had found was a certain immortal, a boulder who had taken human form and had died in the Battle of Iroh. Therefore, it was definitely not him.
Anyway. Once he concluded his business, he would leave this Star immediately, and with the amount he would be receiving; he could go to any realm for the next 100 years.
He took out the box in his storage space carefully. The person who had handed him the box had done so carefully, so carefully that Zero could not help but imitate such cautiousness.
To be honest, he had no desire to leave this box here when he was done. The box was made from the tree of Algar, Zero could not fathom how much he would get when he sold the box in the Ghost Realm.
If he opens the box, then Alvar will find his way here.
"He would come to the box even if he has to crawl on broken glass to get to it." That voice sounded again in his ears.
Zero opened the box and frowned. It was a simple black silk ribbon. It looked so ordinary like it was a simple black ribbon that one could buy in the market. He looked at it carefully but the more he looked at the ribbon, the more he felt like there was nothing special about the ribbon.
Hundreds of miles from where Zero was standing, two people let out a groan, clutching their heads simultaneously.
