I Ascend Alone-Chapter 150: Everdeep Bastion Part II
Chapter 150 - Everdeep Bastion Part II
I stepped forward slowly, my eyes fixed on the portal—but I wasn't alone.
One by one, the summoned elite knelt again.
Dusk Reaver lowered his greatsword, planting its tip against the ground and bowing his armored helm.
Fenrir, now calmed, approached and rested one massive paw beside me, lowering his head with measured reverence. Even as a Sovereign-Class Warhound, his posture remained deferential.
And the six Abyssal Orcs slammed their weapons into the ground in unison, a ritual display of loyalty and discipline. Dust kicked up around them from the sheer force of the motion.
I looked toward the portal again, then back at my summoned vanguard.
"You've done well," I said quietly.
Not a single one moved. No sound broke their formation.
My voice dropped further, laced with calm command. "Stand ready. You're not dismissed. We're going all the way."
Fenrir's ears twitched at that, and his tail gave a single thump of excitement.
Dusk Reaver straightened. The void pulsed through his blade again, softly humming.
The orcs grunted in low approval, already shifting into formation.
I turned to the portal.
'I need to get stronger. I'll clean this thousand floor in no time.'
I stepped through the portal.
And the world warped again.
[ Everdeep Bastion – Floor 2 / 1000 ]
Darkness greeted me first—but not silence.
The air here hummed. It vibrated, deep and low, like a heartbeat buried beneath the stone.
The ground beneath my boots was obsidian, polished smooth and carved with ancient, spiraling sigils. Unlike the crude brutality of the first floor, this place was... refined. Ritualistic. Built for something more than just slaughter.
Then I heard a hiss, a snarl, and the scrape of claws.
They emerged from the edges of the chamber crawling, slithering, and stalking.

The first to appear were the Vorr'Kaith—low, fast quadrupeds, their skin a shifting mesh of shadow and silver chitin. Dozens of red eyes blinked across their bodies. They moved without sound, like living phantoms, flanking in coordinated silence.
Then came the Kaezhul Reapers, walking on two legs, but hunched, elongated. Bladed arms trailed behind them, soaked in viscous black ichor. Their faces were wrapped in fleshy hoods, and mouths split open from the neck upward, revealing rows of saw-like teeth. They didn't just move to kill—they hunted with hunger.
Finally, from above—Threnox Broodlings burst from hatching sacs lining the ceiling. Tiny draconic creatures covered in molten lesions, bodies crackling with unstable flame. Their eyes glowed like dying stars, and I knew instantly: they were living bombs.
All 47 surrounded the chamber.

But I didn't blink. "Go," I said flatly.
In an instant, Dusk Reaver surged forward, greatsword rising in a wide arc. A sweep of abyssal energy followed, cleaving through three Vorr'Kaith mid-charge. Their bodies disintegrated into silver dust before hitting the ground.
Fenrir leapt over him, fangs bared, eyes glowing violet. He collided with a pack of Kaezhul Reapers, ripping into one and slamming the next into the wall hard enough to crater it. The sound of bone shattering echoed through the chamber.
The Abyssal Orcs spread out with brutal efficiency. Two guarded the flanks, axes ready, intercepting the Threnox Broodlings as they fell. One struck a hatchling mid-air—BOOM—a blast of hellfire erupted, but the orc stood firm, armor smoldering, unmoved.
I watched, and I could already feel it—Floor 2 was smarter, faster, more coordinated. The monsters weren't just throwing themselves at us. They adapted. Retreated when losing. Flanked when distracted.
"Let them come," I murmured.
A Kaezhul Reaper lunged at me from the side.
I didn't flinch.
A flicker of shadow—and it split in half. Nox'Velathos sang through the air, my dagger dripping with void essence as I stepped past the falling corpse.
One of the Threnox hatchlings shrieked and dove toward me, body glowing with unstable fire.
I raised my hand.
[ Ruled of Abyss : Activated ]
A wave of pure Monarchal Authority rippled outward. The hatchling froze mid-air, crushed by pressure. The fire inside it dimmed—and then snuffed out.
It dropped like a stone, dead before it hit.
The others were losing ground fast.
Fenrir snapped two Vorr'Kaith in half with a single spin, while Dusk Reaver impaled a charging Reaper and pinned it to the wall, then carved through two more in a blur of blade and void.
One by one, the swarm was erased.

Within minutes, only silence remained again.

➤ Floor 2 Cleared.
➤ Portal to Floor 3 Unlocked.

Another portal shimmered into existence—larger this time, the glyphs along its edge glowing deeper, more urgent.
At my feet, my summoned forces gathered once more.
Dusk Reaver stepped forward and knelt, blood still dripping from his blade. "The prey grows sharper, My Liege."
Fenrir padded beside him, licking the blood from his maw.
The six Abyssal Orcs slammed their weapons down again, ready and waiting.
I stared into the next portal, eyes narrowing.
"Ninety-eight floors left in this wing," I muttered.
Then louder: "On your feet. We move."
I stepped through the portal again.
The void shimmered, and the world shifted.
[ Everdeep Bastion – Floor 3 / 1000 ]
The temperature has dropped significantly.
Frost formed instantly beneath my boots as I entered. This floor was a cathedral of ice and bone—pillars of frozen marrow stretched to a ceiling lost in mist. Chains of black ice hung like chandeliers, and broken statues of unknown kings lined the frost-covered path ahead.
The torches here burned blue.
Even the air felt heavier, like the cold had weight.
Fenrir let out a low growl beside me. His breath came in visible plumes. Dusk Reaver's obsidian armor cracked faintly, but he said nothing.
Then the enemies came.
The mist parted. Their eyes glowed behind it.
