Chapter 106: 102 Antique Appraisal Meeting (2700)_1
“How about this place? It’s a bit remote though.”
Max said, pointing to a single house ahead.
Getting out of the car, Casio looked up. This residence covered a substantial area. There was a low gray wall around the outside, and a black wrought-iron gate marked the entrance. Beside the gate, a shiny metal mailbox stood on the ground.
Approaching swiftly, they saw a paved pathway leading straight to the house. Entering through the iron gate, a moderately sized courtyard came into view. The perimeter was decorated with a green lawn, interspersed with flower beds and a few ornamental trees.
In the center of the courtyard stood a mountain-shaped three-story building shrouded in the twilight glow. The color of the roof tiles was a mix of warm tones.
Casio nodded slightly, clearly fond of the brown-redfolded roof of the house which gave off a warm ambiance.
“The owner of this house is moving to East Sea County soon. Because they are in a bit of a hurry, the price is quite cheap. It seems like they plan to sell this soon, so the whole property is only going to cost 150,000 Hong Li Federation coins,” Max explained while touring the house.
Casio nodded, apparently quite satisfied with this.
“Oh, right, this place has quite a sizable basement. The previous owners used it as a warehouse. It should be pretty decent once you’ve cleaned it up a bit,” Max said.
Further, Casio heard Max point out some downsides to the property. It was relatively remote, had few neighbors, inconvenient transportation, and was quite far from the central street district of Baichuan City.
Casio didn’t mind these drawbacks. He wanted a quiet environment, and the fewer neighbors, the better. As for transportation, the distance from his previous residence, Jessica’s apartment to Red Tower Street, was not much closer than the current house. Besides, the house was still within the urban area, and there was a bus stop just a few hundred meters away.
Next, the three of them went into the house to check it out.
Casio liked the interior layout and immediately decided on this house, thanking Max once again.
“Thanks a lot.”
“No problem, we’re friends,” Max said with a smile.
They indeed could be considered friends by now.
Casio saved Max’s brother, while Max helped Casio inquire about the coin antiques and orchid heart grass, and now helped Casio find a house he liked. As the saying goes, one good turn deserves another; the more they interacted, the closer they became.
Standing in the empty living room, Max said, “I have connections with some renovation and furniture companies, quite reliable ones. I’ll give you the contact addresses. Just mention my name, and they will definitely give you a discount.”
Following this, the two chatted in the yard for a while, and Max shared some news about the Crown Cross Star Coin that Casio wanted him to find. The City Museum in the Central Street District would host a White Rose Antiques appraisal meet tomorrow, a comprehensive exchange meeting hosted by the external White Rose Antiques Company.
It was quite a significant event in the six counties of the east, including an antique exhibition, charity donations, antique auctions, exchange dinners, etc. It was not a typical antique exhibition; the concept was said to be borrowed from abroad.
The Crown Cross Star Coins that Casio wanted were displayed in the antique hall, not just one, but more than a hundred. They were collected by the White Rose Antiques Company. While they might not have much antique collection value now, they were still enough to create an impressive scene.
Conveniently, Max, as the general manager of Kanon Corporation, received an invitation and could take Casio to the antique exhibition.
Hearing this news, Casio was also somewhat intrigued. For him, the antique exhibition was a good place with many antiques piled together. Perhaps one or two contained Obsession Energy. Whether by stealing or buying, there would certainly be a way.
For Casio, the challenge was not about obtaining the Obsession Antiques but finding them. In the past, he had to wander around various antique shops, playing a hit and miss game.

Facing such a great opportunity, naturally, he agreed.
Three minutes later.
“Well, see you tomorrow.”
Max stood at the door, Phil by his side.
“Um…” Casio hesitated.
Max chuckled, patting his hat, “Get in the car.”
Casio shook his head before opening the car door and getting in.
Max had just made a joke; he of course wouldn’t let him stay in this empty house overnight.
Sitting back in the soft car seat, Casio folded his hands and squinted his eyes.
He recognized Max’s friendly intentions. He could tell that Max wanted to be friends with him, otherwise, he wouldn’t be so helpful.
He also needed Max’s connections.
Each took what they needed and hit it off. Perfect.
After about ten minutes, they reached Jessica Apartment on Banner Street.
Casio got out of the car and the car’s left window rolled down. Phil waved lightly, “See you tomorrow, Coach.”
“See you tomorrow.” Casio turned and headed towards the apartment.
The next day, Phil just got to class with his backpack.
Milo pulled him aside with a mysterious expression and seriously said, “I’m not practicing with the sword anymore!”
“???” Phil’s eyes widened, “Why?”
“I’m going to practice boxing!” Milo smirked with satisfaction, and then began to embellish the events of yesterday evening as he explained them to Phil. With his arms folded across his chest, he struck a cool pose.
“Impressive! Those three punks didn’t stand a chance against you?” Phil asked, playing along with Milo’s boasting.
“Can’t you believe it? Take a look at this.” Milo pulled Phil into a corner and mysteriously reached into his pocket.
“Whoa, aren’t you thirsty in broad daylight!”
Phil expressed complete shock.
“What are you thinking? Look at the treasure I hold!” Milo brandished the heavy item in his hand—it was a folding knife.
In their haste to flee the night before, the three thugs didn’t have time to pick up their fallen knife, which was naturally claimed by Mino. He considered it a spoil of battle and took it home.
“Wow, you managed to chase off all three of them in one fight!”
Phil raised his thumb in approval, himself a devoted fan of the much-celebrated superhero Captain Hong Li from a popular recent comic.
“But why would you stash the knife in your pants?”
Phil cast a skeptical glance at his friend Milo.
“Ah, isn’t it just convenient?”
“And it’s not like I hid it in my underwear.”
The pockets of Milo’s clothing were shallow, only the long pocket on the inside of his trousers could accommodate the folding knife. In the past, he had used this pocket to store his pocket money to prevent it from getting lost or stolen.
Now it conveniently served as a sheath for his folding knife.
As the two engrossed friends chatted in the corner, the conversation gradually shifted to the latest ranking among the combat club members at their school.
Phil mentioned wanting to join in order to gauge how his strength had improved. Meanwhile, Milo planned to quit the kendo club, considering joining the combat club or simply becoming clubless in the days to come.
After yesterday’s events, he was now even more eager to learn some serious skills, preferably from Coach Li Wei.
After all, he was thoroughly embarrassed after having practiced kendo for several years, only to have his wooden sword kicked away by a simple thug. The upset lingered with Milo.
“Ding-dong-dong…” A crisp bell rang.
A big hand promptly landed on a metal alarm clock.
Casio jumped out of bed and glanced at the clock: 7:05.
He had resumed his regular routine.
As usual, he went on to brush his teeth, wash his face, and prepare breakfast. But this time, Casio didn’t take a hot water bath with his bag of herbs, as Matthew told him last night that the White Rose Antiques evaluation event was scheduled early today, causing him to worry about missing his morning exercise.
Twenty minutes later, Casio finished the last sip of his milk.
He opened the window and looked out—there was no sign of the car.
Turning his attention back to the black bag by the sofa, he took out and placed all four antiques on the coffee table as usual.
As he gently touched each antique with his palm, a refreshing sensation enveloped him, slowly seeping into his skin. After touching all four antiques, he glanced at the upper right corner of the screen.
The obsession energy increased by 0.1.
‘Obsession Energy: 3.8’
It was the second day and the energy could still recover.
“If this can continue for five days, then it’s as if I’ve swindled an extra obsession antique…” Casio, pleased, packed everything back up.
“Beep Beep Beep…”
Outside, a series of depressing honks echoed.
Casio glanced out of the window at a long sedan parked by the roadside. He quickly slipped into his suit jacket placed on the sofa, picked up the pocket watch pendant on the coffee table, and swiftly descended the stairs.
“They’re here.” Casio swiftly walked towards the car.
The driver’s window rolled down. Besides-Max’s handsome face, there was a beautiful side-profile sitting in the co-driver’s seat.
It belonged to an attractive, black-haired, mature woman.
Her large, seductive eyes met his, an enigmatic gaze flashing in their depths.
The beauty mark at the corner of her pointed eyes drew the eye.
“Li Wei, let me introduce you to Violet.”
