I, the Villain, Want to Save Myself, But the Yandere Heroines Disagree-Chapter 108 - Trist’s Secret
The Doctor quietly observed Susie, the two remaining in a deadlock for several minutes.
It wasn’t until Susie’s stomach growled that the Doctor noticed her malnourishment.
Clearly, Trist hadn’t treated her well.
The Doctor thought for a moment, took out a piece of dry ration from his carry-on bag, then opened his palm towards Susie.
Susie stared at the hard bread in the Doctor’s hand but never reached out to take it.
Instead, she glanced at the two wooden bowls beside her.
The Doctor followed her gaze. One bowl held a little water, while the other contained only a few leftover breadcrumbs. It seemed no one had brought her food for some time.
Realizing this, he tossed the bread in his hand into the small wooden bowl.
Almost immediately, Susie rushed to the small wooden pail and, like an animal, lowered her head into the bowl to eat.

Watching her movements, coupled with the obvious marks on her wrists, the Doctor knew she must have been bound by her hands for a long time, forced to eat in this manner, gradually forming this habit.
Watching Susie eat, any trace of pity the Doctor felt for Trist vanished, replaced by a bone-deep revulsion.
Although the Doctor’s methods of torture were arguably worse than Trist’s, they were merely means to an end. In most cases, even for those he deemed worthy of death, he gave them a quick end.
But Trist, not only had he deprived others of their freedom, he had reduced them to the level of animals.
“Poor child,” the Doctor sighed.
After Susie finished the bread, the Doctor decisively struck her neck, knocking her unconscious.
He then looked at the double bed in the room.
This bed was far from where Susie was bound. Clearly, it wasn’t meant for Susie’s regular use.
The Doctor pulled a set of bedding from the bed, covered Susie with it, then stood up.
Having understood everything that happened in the basement, he no longer felt any psychological burden.
Although his subsequent actions might lead to him being wanted throughout the Empire, he had never cared about his reputation anyway.
There were certainly many ways to bring down Trist, but the Doctor was not going to let him live through tonight.
Thinking this, he returned the way he came, ascended the stairs, and after returning to the kitchen, he restored the hidden door to its original state. Then, acting as if nothing had happened, he went from the living room up to the second floor.
At this moment, Baron Trist had woken up. As he stepped out of his room, he saw the Doctor coming up the stairs.
“Ah, Doctor...” Trist greeted the Doctor. “Thanks to you, I finally had a peaceful night’s sleep today.”
“Is that so? That’s good.” The Doctor revealed a smile, then said, “Then His Lordship should recover quickly, so the people of the city won’t worry about you.”
“I inquired today. Your Lordship’s reputation among the people of Constan City is quite high indeed. The common folk worship you as their idol.”
“Haha, I wouldn’t dare say that, I wouldn’t dare say that.” Trist said this, shaking his head with a smile. “Then, regarding what you mentioned earlier today...”
“Ah, the matter of surgery, right?”
“Yes.” Trist nodded. “If I must undergo surgery, I would like to ask, what are the risks like? What is the success rate? If it fails, will it worsen?”
“You can rest assured on that point.” The Doctor said this, walking up to Trist. “I have performed similar surgeries before, and they were all successful. In my hometown, that small town, I have never had a single negative review.”
“Is that so...” Trist nodded upon hearing this. “Then I will trust you, Doctor.”
Subsequently, he turned around and returned to his room.
“After the surgery, roughly how long will it take to recover to the point where I can get out of bed?” Lying on the bed, Trist asked.
“Oh? Does His Lordship have something urgent to attend to?”
“Of course,” Trist stated.
“The people of Constan City cannot be without me. They are all waiting for me to return to my position as City Lord as soon as possible.”
“After the surgery tonight, His Lordship’s pain will significantly improve tomorrow. It will take no more than a week to fully recover.”
“Good, with your words, I feel relieved.” Trist said this, nodded, then took the potion the Doctor handed him and drank it.
“Your consciousness will fall into a state of deep sleep. You will awaken approximately three hours from now.”
As Trist closed his eyes once more, the Doctor placed the scalpel on his neck.
Just as he was about to make the incision, he paused, as if remembering something. He stood up, left Trist in the room, and went downstairs.
At the entrance, the guard was still on duty. Seeing the Doctor descending, he turned to look at him and asked, “Doctor, is Lord Trist’s illness cured?”
“I haven’t made an incision yet. I’ve just put him under anesthetic,” the Doctor said.
“Then, why did you come down?”
“I have a place I want to show you.”
“...But I still have to stand guard,” the guard said hesitantly.
If some criminals were to sneak into the mansion while I’m away and harm Lord Trist, I would regret it for the rest of my life.
“If you don’t come with me, you will regret it even more for the rest of your life,” the Doctor stated directly. “Besides, doesn’t His Lordship have a very good reputation here? If everyone truly respects him from the bottom of their hearts, why would anyone sneak in late at night?”
“...Alright.” Seeing the Doctor speak so formally, and given that there had indeed been no prior instances of anyone sneaking in, he nodded and followed the Doctor to the kitchen.
Witnessing the Doctor press the hidden door button and seeing the scene before him, the guard was stunned.
“Doctor... you... you can’t do this, this is illegal!”
“Mr. Guard, come to think of it, I haven’t asked for your name before.”
“Ah, I’m David.”
“Alright, Mr. David, if you still want to see your sister, follow me downstairs.”
“What did you say!? You have information about Susie!?” Upon hearing this, David’s emotions instantly became agitated.
Seeing David’s reaction, the Doctor could already guess how intense his subsequent response would be, and therefore specifically prepared him.
“In short, your sister is alive, but as for the rest... I cannot say.” Saying this, he walked straight down.
David followed behind the Doctor, questioning incessantly.
“Doctor, Doctor, you’re not lying to me, are you? I’ve never seen you before, how could you know my sister?”
“Doctor, why is my sister at Lord Trist’s house?”
“Doctor...”
Even though the Doctor didn’t answer him at all, he could already guess some things.
However, deep down, he had always been afraid to admit it.
Subsequently, the two passed through the cellar, pushed open the door, and entered the room from earlier.
