I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1159: This is the madam?
Chapter 1159: This is the madam?
Axel stood in front of a luxury hotel in the heart of the city. This wasn’t the first time he came in here. After all, this was where he lived for a few years. But instead of a sense of familiarity, all he felt was hostility.
Was it a coincidence that the madam chose this place to meet him? Or was this already a statement? Either way, Axel didn’t plan to back down. With one deep breath, he marched inside and went straight to the elevator.
As he stood alone in the elevator, eyes on the number lighting up above it, it suddenly stopped. Snapping his eyes outside, he caught two men in black suits getting in. The men took their spots behind him, making Axel ball his hands into a tight fist. Aside from that, Axel kept himself composed as he glanced at the button one of the men pressed when they got in.
’They’re going to get off one floor before me,’ he told himself, setting his eyes on the shut doors of the elevator. ’One floor, huh?’
It would be a lie for Axel to say he wasn’t nervous. Every floor he passed made his heart race, and the uncertainty of what awaited him grew stronger. However, that wouldn’t stop him from meeting this person, who was giving his brother and sister-in-law a hard time.
When Axel saw that there were three more floors before his company left, he spoke.
"Whatever you are planning, you shouldn’t do it," he said without casting the men a look. "You won’t wanna know what will happen if you do."
The men looked at each other quietly before setting their eyes on Axel’s back. Axel didn’t bother saying anything anymore until they reached a certain floor and the elevator slowly slid open. He arched a brow as both men quietly walked out of the elevator, not even giving him another look.
Axel held his breath until the door shut closed once more, almost feeling his knees wobble.
’Just now...’ he thought, resting his hand on the wall to assist himself. ’... those guys put a gun on my head.’
If not for the shiny outline around the buttons of the elevator, Axel wouldn’t know those two were armed. After all, he didn’t hear a faint click or didn’t even feel their movements.
"Goodness," he breathed out, recomposing himself to keep his cool. ’I’m not giving her the chance to scare me.’
Axel retrieved his hand from the wall and took a deep breath. He straightened his back, huffing as he faced the elevator door squarely. After a quick moment, Axel heard the elevator ding. The corner of his eyes sharpened, expecting the worst to welcome him.
Much to his dismay, the moment the elevator opened, no one was there. Stepping out, Axel then caught numerous bodyguards scattered in the hallway. They were all wearing black suits, almost as if it was a funeral. But Axel didn’t stop for them or stop because of their stares, approaching the room where another two guards stood.
"I’m here to see her," he said as soon as he stopped several feet from the guards. "She’s expecting me."
The guards looked at him from head to toe while the other took a step toward him.
"Spread your arms," said one of the guards in a flat tone. "You can’t get in without inspections."
"I’m not armed." Axel spread his arms, letting the men search his pockets and suits. They even slightly pulled up his pants to check if there were any hidden weapons around his ankle.
’As if I’m stupid enough to bring weapons here,’ thought Axel, waiting patiently until the guard finished his inspection. "Can I go now?"
The guards looked at each other and nodded. They stepped aside with one of the guards knocking on the door four times. After that, the door slowly opened.
Axel glanced at the bodyguards and then at the other one inside before he stepped in.
"Welcome, Second Young Master Zhu," the man greeted politely. "My name is Nigel, the head butler of the Oxley Family. Apologies for the brief hassle we had to put you through. I hope you understand we are simply being thorough"
Axel snorted but didn’t say anything. Nigel, on the other hand, maintained his polite front.
"Follow me," said Nigel. "Madam is still in the shower, so please wait for her to finish."
Nigel ushered Axel to the grand living area of the presidential suite, where Axel idled for a moment. Once he was seated, Nigel asked him if there was anything he wanted to eat, to which he refused. Even so, Nigel offered to make him tea because, according to him, the madam liked drinking tea while making friends.
’Making friends,’ Axel mentally hissed at the thought, glancing at the centerpiece on the coffee table. ’I can’t believe I made it here. Am I going to meet the actual madam?’
No matter how rude it was, Axel waited for the madam to finish showering. As he did so, he thought of many things, wondered what might this person look like, and the sort. Just what sort of face does the person who could threaten Dominic and Hera look like?
"I see that you made it here, Second Young Master Zhu."
Axel perked up as soon as he heard that familiar voice of a woman. When he turned his head, he quickly caught a middle-aged woman, who was already in her nightdress while covered with a long robe, approaching him. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
’This is the madam?’ he held his breath, watching the middle-aged woman sit on the end of the L-shaped couch which connect to where he sat. ’She does sound like the woman on the phone.’
For a moment, Axel couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The madam carried a beauty that could make any man’s neck twist. Although there were faint signs of aging, she looked much younger than he expected. Not to mention, she had a great stature and a sinful figure. But all these characteristics paled in comparison to the fact, she looked like an older version of Hera Cruel.
