I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1201: Blood already spilled
Chapter 1201: Blood already spilled
Hera raised her rifle, only for someone to kick it away. Caught off guard, she let herself get tossed with the rifle. Her body mopped the floor and when her back laid flat on the ground, she grabbed her rifle up and shot the person where the kick came from.
"Shit," she breathed out, holding her rifle over her head to shoot another one that was coming at her. She winced and wiped her forehead, feeling the powdery layer over her face. "Fuck."
She squinted her eyes, rolling to her stomach, and then pushed herself up. Kneeling on one knee, Hera looked around the thick fog. She could see silhouettes of people and sparks from their muzzles. The gunfire harmonized with the shouts and yells around.
"I lost her," she clenched her teeth, trying to see through the fog only to feel frustrated about it. She has had her eyes locked on Florence earlier. However, her minions kept coming at her she had no choice but to look away.
"Miss Hera!"
Suddenly, Hera heard a hurried voice approaching her from the side. Turning her head, she immediately caught Nigel emerge from the thick fog.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his eyes a little shaky while scanning her for any injury.
She would have humored him if not for the situation.
"Where is she?" she inquired under her breath. "You never take your eyes off of her, so where did she go?"
"In the control room."
"Fine." Hera sprung from her spot, ready to go to where Florence was. Thanks to Charlotte and Ulysses’ help, Hera had a rough idea of the mansion’s floor plan. But just as she marched a few steps from Nigel, she stopped and looked back at her.
"Will you be fine here?" she asked out of pure curiosity.
Surprise immediately washed over Nigel’s face. Did she just stop to ask him that?
"Uh." Nigel cleared his throat and nodded. "Right now, I need to garner everyone for a better order. And you? Will you be fine going there all alone?"
Hera sneered. "I don’t know, but what I know for sure is nothing will ever stop me from going after her to the ends of the earth."
As she uttered those words, Hera marched away from her vantage point to come after her lovely auntie. Meanwhile, Nigel stared at her back and sighed mildly.
"She’s like Felice..." he muttered, recalling that time Felice left this place without ever looking back. "... or perhaps, she’s not."
Nigel took a moment to digest everything that was going on in here. Just an hour ago, this family was united as one. But now, the word coup was spreading all across the island, and Nigel was one of those who had turned his back on Florence. What was even more surprising to him was that he didn’t feel like he was doing the wrong thing.
’Right thing...’ he whispered in his heart, listening to the hums of the rifles and the last noise some people had made. ’Was there ever a right or wrong in here? When all of them had decided to what they see fit?’
Nigel shook his head and snapped his eyes. Determination shone in his eyes, telling himself this wasn’t the right time for sentiments. This mansion had now become a battlefield. Hence, he had to put an order to all those who had taken Hera’s side to avoid confusion. After all, they were all wearing the same uniform and a black bandana of the Oxley Family wasn’t enough to distinguish each other.
Blood was already spilled as expected.
Nigel might as well make sure the blood that would taint this land wasn’t the people who chose Hera as the head of the family.

"Hah... hah..." Deep breaths escaped a few men located in the small port of the island. They could only look at the men who wore the same uniform as them. But unlike them, the men who took them down and nearly wiped out their unit didn’t wear their black handkerchiefs.
"Unit 4th, we’ve taken down half of Unit 9th," reported one of the men to their walkie-talkie, gazing down at the few alive and injured soldiers on the ground. "Our unit will go back to the mansion. Any further orders?"
"Damn it..." one of the injured soldiers hissed. He clasped the ground tightly, glancing at his comrade who had fallen from the quick shootout. freewebnσvel.cøm
Just now, their captain — who was currently in the mansion with Madam Florence — sent out an order. All they knew was this was a coup and that their target wasn’t Hera Cruel anymore, but Florence Oxley and her soldier.
However, at the same time they heard the order, the other unit who came with them to scout the area also heard it. Thus, they opened fire first without a second hesitation. They had their losses, but Unit 9 was almost wiped out.
"Tch." One of the soldiers from the 4th unit (Florence’s men) sneered at their former comrades. "Blame your captain for siding with the enemy. He’s stupid for betraying the madam and the Oxley family."
"Don’t you dare talk dirt about my captain!" yelled the other man despite his deep breaths. "He would never betray the Oxley Family."
"You call this not betrayal?"
"He might’ve turned his back on Madam Florence, but never the Oxley Family!" the dying soldier yelled, using every last ounce of his energy to speak his mind. "He might’ve decided, but our unit believed in him."
The other soldiers’ eyes turned cold as he gazed at the pretentious former comrade.
"We might’ve worn the same uniform, but we’ve always disliked your unit’s guts," he spat out before he turned around, glancing at the other soldier on his side. "Finish them off. We’re going back to the mansion."
The other soldier who received the order nodded in understanding, taking a step forward to end these people. Although the other units were already on the brink of death, they still tried to reach for their weapons to take down another one of them.
Without further ado, the soldier held his rifle in place and placed a finger on the trigger. In one swift pull, gunfire was heard, followed by a body landing on the ground.
The lieutenant of the 4th unit halted as soon as he heard a body falling behind him. Looking back, his eyes briefly dilated as his comrade was now on the ground. Right that moment, he also heard a faint rotor sound from the ocean. Looking up, he saw a speedboat speeding in their direction.
There, he caught two figures. A man behind the wheel and then another one in the bow of the speedboat. The latter was holding a sniper rifle while seated, his legs positioned in a way to keep his balance.
Before this night began, they were already briefed on the key figures in the reapers. Aside from the madwoman Hera Cruel, they were warned about a few individuals. One of them was the second in command and Hera’s sworn brother, Tiger.
"Get do —" Before he could finish his sentence, a bullet went into his mouth straight to the back of his throat.
