I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1240: Despite the many uncertainties, I’m certain of you.
Chapter 1240: Despite the many uncertainties, I’m certain of you.
The ceremony proceeded smoothly until it was time for Hera and Dominic’s wedding vows.
"To my dearest Hera." Dominic smiled playfully and wittingly glanced at their guest, making them chuckle because he was starting it as if he simply wrote a letter.
"Yes, it is a letter." Dominic flipped the paper in his hand to show the crowd a glimpse of it. When he set his eyes back to Hera, his smile relaxed. "My beautiful Hera, I have a confession to make."
Hera raised her brows curiously.
"When we parted, I... I killed time writing my wedding vow," he confessed, and the crowd immediately burst out in laughter.
There were a few who were confused, but those who knew found it comical. From the time Hera returned to her body, every day was a battle and full of uncertainty. They didn’t even know if they could make it the next day. Yet Dominic was writing love letters. What made it even funnier was that during that time, Hera was killing time thinking of her bedroom fantasies.
One was romantic, and the other was a pervert.
What a pair.
"Among all the letters I wrote, this one is probably what I like the most." Dominic gazed down at the piece of paper in his hand. The text was beautifully handwritten, showing the carefulness of the writer.
"To my dearest Hera,
To tell you the truth, I don’t know how you’re going to receive this letter or if you’ll be able to get the chance to read or hear it. Even if you do, I’m not sure what setting will it be. Will you hear this from me as I read it in front of you and the entire world on an altar? Would I have to read it at your funeral? Or would you have to read it all alone?
At this very moment, I am unsure of many things. And these uncertainties are killing me. It fills me with dread."
Dominic paused as he smiled subtly, glancing at his bride.
Hera had this soft smile on her face and her expression told him she wanted to hear more. The crowd also listened intently because these feelings weren’t just his. He continued;
"But as I write this letter, I want to believe that somehow, I will be reading this to you as I promise to have and to hold from whatever day it would be forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do us part."
"Because right now, if there’s something I am sure of, that is... you," he continued. "Hera, loving you has its peaks and troughs. The highs might be beyond heaven, and the lows were just as deep as the pits of hell. However, despite that, loving you was never hard."
"Truthfully, I would never understand why people feared you when all I see when I look or think of you is that... you’re the only woman I will spend the rest of my life with. The only woman I would want to share all of me and the only person I’d want to grow old with."
"So, Hera, if we’re lucky and that I was able to read this at our wedding, there’s only one thing I can promise you." Dominic slowly lifted his eyes to her and put down his paper.
"I, Dominic Zhu, promised you that that is the last time you’ll ever get hurt. I will be with you from this day forward, fulfilling our dreams together. You will never be alone; be it in the dark, know that someone is sitting with you in it. If you want to dance in the rain, then I’ll be dancing with you. And even if we’re in the middle of hellfire, know that I’ll still love you till the last bits of my ashes." freёnovelkiss.com
His eyes softened with deep affection while Hera was already chewing her bottom lips. "I said all of that in the letter, but... in the end, all I feel right now is that... I am finally home."
The crowd were all sniffing and wiping their eyes as Dominic’s voice broke at the end. They all felt his relief upon calling her his home.
"And I make this vow to you, Hera Cruel," Dominic huffed and forced a smile despite the tears rolling down his cheek. He then faced the crowd, who were mostly the people she considered family.
"I also want to make a vow to every one of you today. I might not be able to stop her from harassing you when she gets the chance, but I promise you that Hera will have a complete and happy family."
The Reapers easily disregarded Hera’s "defect" and smiled approvingly.
As for Hera, she already used half of her tissue box, which Sebastian was handing to her. The little master was also standing beside his mother, but instead of just bearing rings, he was also holding up a tissue for her.
Dominic then approached her, clasping her hand as he spoke his last vows while putting on the ring. Hera looked at how the ring fit her so perfectly before looking up at him.
"Don’t jump him yet!" someone from the crowd yelled as if they already expected Hera skipping to the honeymoon.
"Dominic, distance yourself!"
"She’ll skip to the honeymoon!"
"Wait for the kiss the bride part!"
"There are kids here! Have mercy!"
Hera’s sniffle stopped as she glared at the crowd going wild. "I haven’t done anything yet!"
But then, someone in the crowd still had the gall to respond, "But you were about to!"
"Haha." Dominic chuckled as this helped them calm down. "Let’s finish the ceremony first."
"Goodness. Darling, why did I even invite these judgemental rogues?" she pouted, glaring at the crowd once more. "This wedding is being recorded — I will find out who said all of those things!"
The crowd immediately fell into silence while others coughed nervously.
Others, who weren’t members of the reapers, just chuckled.
"This is a wedding, but the bride looks like she’ll slit a few throats later." Elliot, who was seated among the crowd, couldn’t help but shake his head. "The bride and the groom might spend their honeymoon burying bodies."
Lukas cast Elliot a look and chuckled. "You won’t investigate?"
"I don’t have to if no case was made, right?"
Lukas just laughed and shook his head. Both of them snapped their eyes on the altar as they waited for Hera to tell her wedding vows. Much to their dismay, she simply said in a serious tone;
"I’ll tell my wedding vows on our honeymoon. Mr. Ebonhart, let’s skip to the kiss the bride part."
Everyone. "..."
They knew it!
