I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon-Chapter 1405: Grabbing the Head
Chapter 1405 - Grabbing the Head
Genos who is snapping back to his senses, had no choice but to brace himself and send out Marshadow. He knew there was no way Yuga would let him escape.
"Marshadow, Shadow Punch!"
"Aegislash, Iron Defense!"
Clang~ Clang~ Clang~
Marshadow launched a flurry of punches, pounding against Aegislash's body, but only a series of metallic clangs rang out. There was no way it could break through the defense of Aegislash, who had used Iron Defense.
Aegislash was already a Pokémon extremely skilled in defense, and now it had used Iron Defense multiple times—its defensive capabilities had been pushed to the extreme.
"Aegislash, Swords Dance!"
After knocking Marshadow's punches aside with its body, Aegislash heard Yuga's command. Light swords spun around its body, and its white blade shimmered with a sharper, more dazzling gleam.
Marshadow closed in swiftly, swinging its fist to try to stop Aegislash's power-up, but it was a step too late—Aegislash had already completed its enhancement.
Aegislash used Shadow Sneak, sweeping its blade horizontally. A flash of cold light streaked by, forcing Marshadow to retreat repeatedly.
After suffering several setbacks at Aegislash's hands, and seeing Yuga—the source of all its grudges—right in front of it, yet unable to do anything, Marshadow grew increasingly impatient. It began to disregard Genos's commands.
It hadn't been willing to be captured by Genos in the first place, and now that Genos's commands couldn't help it defeat its enemy, of course it had no intention of listening to him anymore.
Genos was beside himself with rage, but at this moment, his entire fate was riding on Marshadow. Even if Marshadow disobeyed him, there was nothing he could do besides burn with anxiety.
Marshadow used Shadow Sneak and silently vanished from its original spot. Aegislash remained on high alert, scanning its surroundings, but it couldn't detect any trace of Marshadow.
When Marshadow reappeared, it was already behind Yuga. It raised its fist, its eyes filled with cruelty, and a slight smile curled its lips—as if it could already see Yuga being blasted to pieces by a single punch.
Just the thought made it excited.
Aegislash was now in front of Yuga. Even if it noticed Marshadow behind him, it was already too late to save him.
But just as Marshadow's punch was about to land on Yuga, the shadow at Yuga's feet rippled, and a small, exquisite Pokémon suddenly appeared.
When Marshadow saw this Pokémon, a flash of astonishment crossed its face. In this little Pokémon, it seemed to glimpse a vast starry sky, to feel the boundless universe—it couldn't help but tremble inside.
As a blue light flickered across the Pokémon's body, Marshadow's fist came crashing down.
Thud~
A muffled sound rang out. The tiny palm-sized Pokémon didn't move an inch, while Marshadow was shaken back several steps. A look of astonishment crossed its face.
"Cosmoem~"
After forcing Marshadow back, the Pokémon immediately dove into Yuga's arms and snuggled affectionately. Thankfully, it still remembered to control its body weight—otherwise, it might have slammed into Yuga hard enough to cause internal injuries.
"Cosmoem!" Yuga gently stroked the thick golden shell of the Pokémon and softly called its name.
"Impossible!!!"
Seeing Marshadow forced back, Genos's jaw dropped.
Just a moment ago, he had truly believed Yuga was doomed—he had almost jumped for joy on the spot. If Yuga died, who could stop him from escaping?
But the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. He never imagined that Yuga still had another Pokémon capable of taking a full-force blow from Marshadow.
Marshadow was a Legendary Pokémon! That Yuga even had one Aegislash capable of standing up to it was shocking enough—but now he had another strange and powerful Pokémon.
Even though Genos didn't recognize Cosmoem, just from its appearance alone, he could tell this Pokémon was extraordinary.
Aegislash, however, didn't care how shocked Genos was. Yuga had nearly been ambushed right before its eyes—this made it furious.
At the moment Marshadow was forced back by Cosmoem, Aegislash used Autotomize to lighten its body and accelerated, appearing beside Marshadow in a flash. With one slash of its blade, dark Ghost-type energy streaked by, and a gash appeared on Marshadow's body.
Marshadow failed to dodge and tumbled across the ground several times. But Aegislash did not let it off—its blade continued to slash, and a few more wounds appeared on Marshadow's body.
There was no blood flowing from Marshadow's wounds, but instead a constant outpouring of pitch-black Ghost-type energy, making it look increasingly frail.
Genos watched Marshadow's condition closely, feeling anxious beyond words. He wanted Marshadow to follow his commands, but Marshadow completely ignored him.
In his fury, Genos even took out a Master Ball to threaten Marshadow, but with life and death on the line, Marshadow paid him no mind at all.
Only upon hearing Genos's threats did Yuga realize that Marshadow was being controlled by someone. Originally, he had thought these two were colluding willingly.
Seeing he couldn't control Marshadow, Genos then turned to trying to persuade Yuga.
"Mr. Shimizu, there is no real hatred between us. Why must we fight to the death? How about this — you let me go today, and I'll repay you handsomely. Money, treasures, high-quality Pokémon — whatever you ask for, I will offer up with both hands."
Yuga looked at him in confusion. "Fight to the death? What are you talking about? Isn't it obvious how this is going to end? You're the one who's going to die!"
Genos almost choked on his own breath. Who the hell is arguing about who's dying! I'm trying to bribe you, can't you tell!?
But with no other option to escape, Genos swallowed his anger hard.
"You're absolutely right, Mr. Shimizu. If I fight you, I'll surely die. So why don't we just not fight? As long as you let me go today, I swear I'll deliver whatever you want to your doorstep."
Genos forced a big smile as he said this.
Yuga rejected him flatly: "No way. There's no leaving for you today. Let's fight to the end."
Upon hearing this, Genos was furious. "Must you really be so ruthless, Mr. Shimizu?"
Yuga stared at him silently. Genos turned red with rage.
At this moment, the battle between Marshadow and Aegislash was finally nearing its conclusion.
Though Marshadow was a legendary Pokémon, it was still no match for an ancient, Level 100 veteran like Aegislash, who had lived for over a thousand years.
For all anyone knew, this Marshadow might not have even been alive as long as Aegislash!
Clang!
With a sharp metallic ring, Marshadow was slashed down by Aegislash and collapsed to the ground, covered in wounds of all sizes.
Seeing Marshadow defeated, Genos immediately turned to flee. He knew escape was likely futile, but he still clung to a sliver of hope.
In a flash, Cosmoem vanished from Yuga's arms and slammed straight into Genos's stomach. Genos felt as if his internal organs had been displaced. With a scream, he coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground, curled in pain.
Fortunately, Cosmoem didn't know any offensive moves. If it had known Tackle or anything similar, given its absurd weight, Genos probably would have died on the spot from that hit.
As Genos fell, the Master Ball in his hand rolled to the ground, spinning to a stop right by Yuga's feet.
Yuga bent down and picked up the Master Ball, about to walk toward Genos when suddenly a girl appeared not far away, accompanied by an Espeon and a Gallade.
Seeing the girl, Yuga was visibly surprised. "Adrielle?"
After landing, Adrielle looked around in confusion. When her eyes met Yuga's, she hesitated briefly—then caught sight of the blood-spewing Genos.
"Brother!!!"
Adrielle cried out in panic and rushed over.
"Uhh... Brother, what happened to you? Don't scare me!" Tears streamed down Adrielle's face as she tried to lift Genos up.
Their parents had died young, and Adrielle had been raised almost entirely by her older brother. To her, he was the sky — her pillar of support.
"Fi... Fiona... Run... run..." Genos whispered weakly.
"What are you saying, Brother?" It turned out that the moment Adrielle landed, due to mental exhaustion, her personality had switched — from Fiona to Adrielle.
Adrielle had no knowledge of Fiona's existence.
But just as Genos finished speaking, he spat out another mouthful of blood. His head slumped, and he lost consciousness.
Brother is dead!
At the moment Genos passed out, that was the only thought in Adrielle's mind. Suddenly clutching her head, she felt an excruciating pain, as though her brain was about to explode.
"Ahhhh!!!"
With her scream, the Fiona personality — which had been dormant due to mental exhaustion — awoke once again, but something was off. She seemed mentally unstable, likely due to the immense shock.
As Fiona screamed, Aegislash immediately moved to shield Yuga, activating its defensive move King's Shield. A massive energy shield, like layers of translucent fish scales, formed in front of Yuga.
A powerful shockwave accompanied Fiona's scream, kicking up dirt and rocks that struck the King's Shield barrier with loud clattering noises, causing it to flicker under the assault.
Fiona with her eyes bloodshot, stared straight at Yuga. In an instant, her psychic power reconnected with both of her Pokémon — including the heavily wounded and unconscious Gallade.
The moment Espeon's psychic power connected with Fiona's, the light in its eyes abruptly vanished — as if something had taken control of it.
Fiona's two Pokémon that was driven mad by her control, charged at Yuga with reckless abandon, but Aegislash's King's Shield stood firm. The two Pokémon didn't care about the shield, repeatedly slamming their bodies against it, bruising themselves.
Seeing these two crazed Pokémon, Cosmoem reappeared next to Yuga using Teleport, nervously shrinking into Yuga's arms.
Yuga who is amused, patted Cosmoem gently, not concerned with the two attacking Pokémon.
He could now clearly see that Adrielle seemed to be a psychic user, and both her Pokémon were enhanced by her abilities.
But despite that, the level gap between these Pokémon and Aegislash was too great. Even with Adrielle's psychic powers, it wouldn't make much of a difference.
What surprised Yuga more was that Adrielle was a psychic user. In his impression, Adrielle was just a sweet, obedient girl. Though she was a trainer, her strength was almost negligible.
Yet now, her Espeon and Gallade were probably on par with even the strongest of Elite level trainers' Pokémon!
Finally, under the relentless assault of the two Pokémon, King's Shield broke.
Aegislash retracted its shield mode and swung its sword forward. The attack, a critical hit, unleashed dark energy in the form of a giant blade, sweeping the two Pokémon away.
These two Pokémon had already been worn down fighting against Glacia's team, and now under Fio a's control, they were already at their limits. With Aegislash's strike, they both collapsed, unconscious.
As the two Pokémon fell, Fiona felt a sharp pain in her head. Her vision went black, and she lost consciousness, her body collapsing onto her brother Genos.
Seeing this, Yuga shook his head. He had thought Adrielle might be preparing some powerful move, but it turned out to be all for show. With just one strike, it was over, and she was powerless to continue.
With both siblings unconscious, Yuga thought about using the Master Ball. He was planning to capture Marshadow, letting it return for him to think about how to handle it.
However, just as he was about to capture Marshadow, a dark mist suddenly appeared out of nowhere, sweeping up Marshadow and attempting to escape.
What is this? Trying to steal the kill? Not a chance!
"Dusknoir, Mean Look!"
As Yuga's voice rang out, the shadow beneath his feet wiggled, and Dusknoir appeared beside him.
Dusknoir cast its huge, pitch-black eyes toward the sky, emitting a red light that hit the dark mist, halting its escape instantly.
When the mist cleared, Yuga finally saw its true form—another Dusknoir.
...
[ Duksnoir ]
Type: Ghost
Ability: Pressure
Gender: Male
Rank: Indigo
Level: 99
Skills: Night Shade, Bind, Astonish, Shadow Sneak, Disable, Will-O-Wisp, Confuse Ray, Curse, Hex, Shadow Ball, Telekinesis, Payback, Facade, Trick Room, Dark Pulse, Substitute, Dream Eater, Sleep Talk, Shadow Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Aura Sphere, Black Mist, Focus Punch, Destiny Bond.
...
Seeing the data of this Dusknoir, Yuga was extremely surprised. Such a powerful Pokémon—no wonder it dared to try to steal his spoils.
However, while Yuga may not recognize this Dusknoir, the half-conscious Marshadow did.
It was this Dusknoir that had encouraged it to go to the Guli Mountains. It was also this Dusknoir that told Marshadow about the Soul Crystals and guided it to meet Genos.
Now, as Marshadow lay severely injured, it felt a chill creeping up its spine.
Marshadow wasn't stupid. After the Dusknoir told it about the Soul Crystals, it had disappeared until now. It must have been up to no good.
If it had appeared earlier when Marshadow had been beaten by Aegislash, why didn't it intervene?
Now, heavily wounded, Marshadow was almost powerless to resist. If it fell into the hands of this Dusknoir. Would it be able to survive?
