After the ceremony, Sundew led a tour around the ancient tree. They flew up to the very top where they could look out across a sea of green in all directions. All of it belonged to the new King and Queen of the East.

They flew around the meadow below which was under perpetual shade from the massive tree. Legions of insects greeted them, from swarms of glittering mosquitos to giant beetles the size of small mountains. They all paid respects to the new King and Queen of the East.

Afterward, they held a rowdy banquet that lasted all day and into the night. Tons of tasty treats were brought from all corners of the beast world. Knowing that Jasmine had a big appetite, nobody held back.

Specialties from the Great Smoky Mountains included roasted lava eels. They were oily, spicy, and full of flavor. Each bite filled one's mouth with flames and filled their stomach with a warm fire that would keep burning for a long time. There were also fire crabs, a delicate creature with the sweetest, juiciest crab meat this side of the subcontinent. They could be eaten raw, plucked out of a bucket of liquid fire.

The monkeys of the south brought forth a variety of spiritual fruits. They were cultivated using spiritual crystals as fertilizer. Oranges, mangos, pineapples, lychees, papayas, each one was bursting with flavor and spirituality. Eating was like cultivating with spiritual crystals, only it was easier and very tasty.

As for Glittering Forest, Sundew had prepared the best her land could offer which were all kinds of edible insects, considered delicacies by all types of beasts. There were ant eggs, so big they were bigger than chicken eggs. Fried crickets, fried grasshoppers, and all kinds of other fried insects were greatly popular.

Huo Tu was a big fan and swallowed whole plates of insects without blinking. The mantis lords were also voracious eaters. The human side was far more reluctant with few of the disciples daring to touch the piles of dead bugs.

"Ew! I'm not eating bugs!" Jasmine shouted, "Sundew, if you push another plate of bugs in front of my face, I will beat you up!"

"Here!" Chen Wentian laughed and pushed the plate of fat, white grubs near him toward her.

"Chen Wentian!" She yelled. "You dare!"

"Hehe!"

"Haha!"

Everyone laughed as they started to bicker.

"Ahhh!" Jasmine screamed as a dead grasshopper landed on her dress.

The culprit was of course Chen Wentian who sported a wide grin.

Pu!

The offending dead bug was instantly vaporized by her spiritual aura. She glared at him and bared her teeth at him.

"I'll bite you!" But before she could, a large roasted leg of deer was stuffed into her open mouth. "Mmmm!"

She acted angry for a few more moments before the taste of roasted meat changed her mind. This earned another round of laughter.

"Chengcheng, I dare you to eat this!" Zhou Ziyun said, placing a large ant egg on Lin Qingcheng's plate.

"Ehh?" Lin Qingcheng made a face but saw that everyone was looking at her. As the first disciple, she had to be brave in the face of challenges, "Of course, I dare. Why don't I dare? But you also have to eat one!"

"Okay." Zhou Ziyun also placed an egg on her plate.

"How about a wager?" Wu Qianyu joined in, to everyone's surprise.

Now, the top three disciples all were looking at each other. The others hushed and watched with rising excitement. Rarely did they get to see these three compete.

Wu Qianyu smiled at the two younger ladies, "Chengcheng, Zhiyun. The winner gets master for the evening."

"Hey!" Chen Wentian complained but everyone ignored him.

"Oooh!"

"Bet!"

"Fight!"

The ice sisters were especially noisy. Such competition among sisters was common for them.

"Hehe, Sis Qianyu, I agree. How will we compete?" Lin Qingcheng asked.

Zhou Ziyun brought over another plate of ant eggs, "Five eggs each, the person who eats all of them the fastest wins!"

"Okay!"

"It's a bet!"

In a flash, each person's plate had five fat and juicy ant eggs. They were perfectly circular and translucent. Each one was about the size of a chicken egg. They could have been mistaken for precious pearls.

"Alright, are you ready?" Chen Wentian asked. "Set... go!"

Lin Qingcheng took a big bite, as big as her mouth could handle, "Mmm, it's good!"

She looked around and realized that her two competitors had already finished the first one. She quickly stuffed the rest into her mouth and held it closed with her hand. It did taste good, like a salty chicken egg with a nutty flavor. But she had no time to enjoy it at the moment.

She was already behind while Zhou Ziyun and Wu Qianyu were still even. Both of them started on a second egg and wolfed it down with two bites. The third egg met a similar fate and it wasn't until the fourth that one of them started to slow down. Zhou Ziyun patted her chest, having trouble swallowing. She wasn't a big eater so four within a few breaths was already her limit. She could only watch on as Wu Qianyu finished the fifth one with surprising speed.

"Qianyu wins!"

"Noo!" Lin Qingcheng cried out. She had just started on the fourth egg. She had lost terribly.

Zhou Ziyun smiled wryly and put down her half-eaten fifth egg. "Congratulations, Sister Qianyu."

Wu Qianyu dabbed her lips with a napkin and smiled, "Thank you, for letting me win."

The two shared a meaningful look. Wu Qianyu nodded her head and Zhou Ziyun laughed. The others sat around awkwardly, unsure what was going on. Even Chen Wentian didn't know. He remembered that the two women had a little friction when they had first met. He thought that they had long moved past that.

"Fine, fine, Qianyu wins. Here, the rest of you should try these ant eggs too. They are very good!" He passed them around and even threw one at Jasmine, "You too! Don't be scared."

"I'm not scared!"

"Hahaha!"

The party resumed and the lively atmosphere returned. The disciples chatted happily with each other, about their latest adventures and achievements.

The Spirit Lords conversed amongst themselves. Mei Qiaofeng and Tie Buqun were getting along with three mantis lords. They had fought several times in the past and relived old memories together. Although the two were human immortals, they were beast art cultivators so they had an innate respect for beasts and did not treat them strangely.

Chen Wentian let Jasmine with the disciples and found some time to chat with Sundew and Huo Tu. Now that he was a Spirit King, conversing with his peers would allow him to improve his mentality and raise his point of view to a higher realm. Unfortunately, these two were still beasts and not even origin beasts so the conversation was limited.

Huo Tu complained about having to ferry the ice sisters to and from the Great Smoky Mountains. He was a venerable Spirit King, a beast king that ruled over billions of souls. He was still unhappy about answering to five mortal humans.

"I told you already," Chen Wentian said with a sigh, "This is a small favor. It doesn't take a lot of effort for you. Are you so busy you don't have the time?"

"No, Master Chen... this..." The toad muttered awkwardly.

He snorted and patted the toad, "Look, Jasmine's Lunar Blessing will help improve your cultivation but it will be a slow process. Most of the energy from the original blessing has been used up. But have you forgotten about my flames? As long as you do a good job for my disciples, I can help you in return."

The fiery toad lit up and blazed with excitement, "Ah, this toad is dumb, please forgive my stupidity. I will carry out your tasks to perfection!"

"Haha, that's more like it." He chatted a little more with the toad about flame arts before turning to Sundew.

The large mantis had spent the whole time stuffing her face with all manner of food. Her abdomen had increased to three times its original size. It could probably compete with Jasmine to see who had a bigger bottomless hole.
