Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!-Chapter 52: Marry Me, Jayden
Chapter 52: Marry Me, Jayden
Sitting in their mid-class living room in their home, a mother and her daughter chatted.
Lynna helped Sofia pack her hair as they conversed, and complex looks spread through their faces.
"I can’t believe he gave you the job, mother. It was unexpected, but I’m glad... Yeah, I am," Sofia said, her face filled with amazement.
"Mm-hmm. You should be... Your sweet mother was going to get nailed for her debts if not for him," Lynna said with a soft smile, stroking her daughter’s hair before placing a band and giving a final wrap-up.
Then Sofia stood up and sat next to her mother.
"You said he cancelled the appointment of another person just to hand it over to you? Mom, don’t you think he is up to something?" Sofia asked with a suspicious look.
Of course, any sane person would suspect something like that, especially when the person he gave the job to was someone who had openly insulted him in public without even thinking twice.
Sofia grabbed that thought and took it to mind. To her, this wasn’t just a favor from him... She believed he was up to something.
"You are thinking too far, daughter... If he’s up to something, then it would be doing me a big favor and getting you back. That’s what I think," Lynna said, giving a nod.
"You mean... Jayden would want me back?" she asked with her brows furrowed, her face filled with a sense of doubt.
Of course, it was normal to doubt that, because she knew that would be almost impossible after what she did.
"Nah, I don’t think so," Sofia shook her head.
"Look, daughter. You should believe that Jayden had no other intentions. I could feel his mind and acts... He might have been heartbroken when you left him, but... but I think you can go back to him... I believe he’s going to accept you," she said, giving her daughter a sharp assuring look.
It took Sofia quite a while to swallow that, and when she did, the unease wasn’t gone.
"He’s not been in school for some days now. I have tried his number once, though I was nervous, but he actually didn’t pick up. I wasn’t surprised though," Sofia said, her eyes dark.
"He is a busy man. You should know that. That’s why you need to wait up and strike when you have the chance," Lynna smiled.
Sofia had to believe that even though it was hard to. Now it was clear that she wanted to have Jayden back, but it was one of the unbelievable moves she could make at this point.
Sure, Lynna was pushing for the money, and Sofia wasn’t opposing as well... After all, the main job was to dig the gold, but the first thing to do was to get the mine...
Now she was so keen to get Jayden back, and next, she would cook her revenge against Royce and Mia with full force.
...
While they spent a little more time watching a TV show in the living room, Lynna hesitated before speaking.
"I’ll be off to see my sister tomorrow. I’ll be away for two days at least," Lynna said.
"I’ll go with you," Sofia cut in, her tone like one with great interest.
"No... Nope. You’ll need to attend lectures, Sofia. Your final exams are fast approaching. You can’t afford to miss classes," Lynna declined, her tone soft.
Sofia didn’t seem okay with it, but she had no choice. Her mother’s "No" was always a "No."
"Don’t worry, I’ll send your regards," she added, patting her on the back.
Lynna just succeeded in cooking a lie for her daughter. There was actually no such thing as visiting her sister... She was actually going to be in the penthouse with Jayden!!!
Somehow, she just couldn’t believe she was doing this. She definitely had second thoughts, but the one pushing her to do it seemed to be stronger. It was just as though Jayden had charmed her after that ride with him in his car.
Now she felt like she couldn’t resist meeting up with him.
Sofia was there, believing it was going to be a visit to see her aunt...
Little did she know that her mother was actually going to see her ex-boyfriend, who she had been advising her to get back to.

(Monarch Café)
While they worked, Harper decided to bring up a topic. As the three top workers in the café, they all worked at the counter while the rest of the workers distributed the drinks to the customers.
"Guess what, guys?" she said.
"What? I’m not down for your usual ’what happened last night’ story, Harper," George said, his eyes clearly revealing that he had no interest.
"Nah, not that," Harper rolled her eyes.
"Then what?" Reece gave a cheeky grin and stared.
"It’s about what happened last afternoon," Harper let out a soft laugh.
"We were here all afternoon yesterday, so what’s exciting to talk about? Because there was nothing," George said, glaring.
"Well..." Harper slowly brought out a card and showed it to them. "Guess whose card I got?"
She let out a giggle, blushing red.
Reece and George exchanged glances at once, before George quickly collected the card to take a look.
"Boss?" George said aloud, his eyes slightly widened.
"Hmm, looks like you are trapping your crush in a smooth way," Reece folded his arms, giving a headshake.
"You can say that again," Harper laughed.
George didn’t say a word as he kept looking at the card. His face appeared blank, his eyes dark.
"Well, we’re gonna be meeting soon and trust me... In no time, I wouldn’t just be called Harper. I would be called Mrs. Harper Jayden, heh," Harper boasted around, showing that act of pride in her.
Indeed, she had really been crushing on Jayden, but the most enticing part was to be his woman and enjoy his wealth. Not just to enjoy the wealth, but to also enjoy the glory that comes after it.
While she ranted around, Melinda suddenly walked in from a different room.
"What the hell are you guys doing? Hurry up. The wait rate is rising," Melinda said with a serious tone.
Harper froze immediately when she saw her walk in.
She quickly grabbed the card and placed it back into her jean pocket.
Melinda gave her a seemingly cold look.
She swallowed repeatedly.
That look meant something...
It seemed like Melinda overheard her, but Harper hoped she didn’t.
While the three hastened up, Melinda left the room and went back to her own duty, leaving Harper with a sigh of relief.
However, George still maintained his blank face, like this whole news Harper brought had wrenched his stomach.
...
Meanwhile, Melinda felt her heart swelling after hearing that from Harper.
Jayden giving her his card didn’t show a lot that they had something going on between themselves, but the way Harper spoke...
It was as if she was fed by real confidence.
Melinda just felt herself feeling bad, she didn’t know why...
Perhaps... Perhaps...
Perhaps she was just another lady having a crush on her boss and was feeling bad seeing another girl getting closer to him than her.

(Lightboard Penthouse)
Jayden was back to the penthouse and was having a good time with Camilia before she would leave.
"I wish you could stay a little longer," Jayden muttered.
"I wish I could, but you know I have to go. My father is probably going crazy by now. I have to go home before he gets a heart attack," Camilia said.
Jayden nodded. "It’s crazy though. The man who doesn’t want you to do what you love would have a heart attack when you go missing."
He chuckled, shrugging.
"He thinks he’s doing the best for me," Camilia replied, sitting up from his lap. "My father always believes he knows what’s best for me. He would do anything just to get the best things for me, but he just can’t let me choose for myself. That’s the problem."
"I get it," Jayden nodded. "Now it’s gonna look like we are never going to be together. He would definitely make you marry the so-called Prince of Nortasia, because I’m just a pathetic son of a criminal."
Jayden’s eyes tightened, clenching his fist.
Camilia felt his mood, knowing he was feeling bad about that.
"Hey... Hey! That’s his plan. But that doesn’t mean I’ll follow it. I already made myself clear that I would never marry Prince Kael, and that decision is final," Camilia said, staring right into Jayden’s eyes.
Jayden felt her sincerity, which had softened his heart. Somehow, he had loved Camilia more, he didn’t even know why.
Well, thanks to the system for giving him the task that led him to her... It was actually a favor.
However, now he knew he would be facing a great challenge to get her to be his, and somehow it was just like an illustration of a dog facing off against a lion.
Jayden sighed and asked, "So, what do we do?"
After thinking for a short time, Camilia had to reveal what she had in mind.
"Marry me and get me pregnant, and you’ll see. Case closed."
