Into Skyrim, Elder Scrolls 8 Nirn's Beta-Chapter 122: My new gear
Chapter 122 - My new gear
I had worked tirelessly for days? Was it days? I shook my head and equipped my new armor. Which left me to update my self-assessment. This would be the quickest self-assessment update and likely would remain the quickest.
Giving it some thought though, perhaps I should document my armor. I had done so with Viree's armor. I might as well document my own armor. It would certainly add to the self-assessment.
I tapped my pencil to my notebook. Starting with my helmet would be for the best. My helmet was made of five layers. I had used simple wolf fur for the inner layers. The second layer was made of Dreugh Chitin, it was there for padding. The third layer was the most complex layer. As it was made with several plates made of Gold and Moonstone. The plating was made to hold and use the Diadem of the Savant and Ayleid Crown of Refreshment. I paused in my documentation to sketch the shaped plating of the third layer.
The fourth layer was simple, it was a solid piece of ebony that connected all the previous layers together with ebony bolts. This left the last layer which was made from Stalhrim plates. Each of the plates were interlocked between ebony wedges. Though I had taken the Crown of Freydis and used it as the crown of my helmet. As the entire Crown of Freydis was made from Stalhrim.
Finally all the layers were enchanted, except for the third layer. The first inner layer was enchanted with Fortify Comfort and Fortify Resistances. The second layer was enchanted with Fortify Archery and Fortify Precision. Third layer was contained the enchantments of both the Diadem of the Savant and Ayleid Crown of Refreshment. While the fourth layer was enchanted with Fortify Heavy Armor and Fortify Mana Regen. Finally the 5th layer which had used the Crown of Freydis held the crown's enchantment of Fortify Ascendancy.
I sketched the outward appearance of the helmet. The helmet wasn't a masterpiece item, but it was named. Though the name was plain compared to its make, as the Helmet was named, The Helm-Crown of Ascendancy.
My second piece of armor was my chest plate. The chest piece was made of four layers. The first inner layer was made exactly the same as the helmet. While the second layer differed greatly, I used the Bloodworm helm and several carved dragon bones. The second layer was interlocked with the third layer by covering the dragon bone with Ebony. The third layer was Ebony and was fused to the second layer through the coatings. Which left the final layer being made of several plates of interlocking Stalhrim and Heartstones.
The Chestplate's first layer was enchanted with the obvious Fortify Comfort and Fortify Resistances. The second layer was more complex than the simple first layer. Due to the design of the second layer, I enchanted each of the dragon bones with Fortify Heavy Armor. The second layer also held the Bloodworm Blessing enchantment, which boosts Conjuration, and added the spells Reject Dead, Drain Essence, and Summon Skeletal Minion.
The complex second layer of multiple enchanted bones was made more complex due to the third layer and Ebony Coatings. Due to the Coating I was only able to enchant the Ebony layer with Vital Force. This at least made it easy to make. As for the last layer it was enchanted with Resist Elements and Resist Magic. Once the Chestplate was created, it gained the name Ebony Bonewyrm Plate.
I had made a small add on to my Chestplate in the form of a chainmail cloak. I had used the Snow Elf Initiate's Robe as the cloth for the cloak. This was because originally I had forgotten the robes and figured I'd use them for this, this just left me to dye the cloak a light blue. As for the enchantments the Snow Cloth was enchanted with Resist Magic and Absorb Magic. As for the steel chainmail it was enchanted with Muffle and Fortify Blocking.
My Gauntlets were made in a similar fashion of Viree's gauntlets. Though they differed greatly in several parts. I had used the Psijic Warden Gauntlets as the base and redesigned the outer layers. The redesign added Ebony and Antimony plating. Redesigning the gauntlets allowed me to get three enchantment effects on them. The first enchantment was the Warden Gauntlets original enchantment. While the other two enchantments were Titan's Strength and Spartan's Might.
I tapped my pencil on my notes. I sighed and began sketching the gauntlets again. The first sketch wasn't very good. With the gauntlets documented I began sketching my pants. Instead of basic boots or extension of my chest piece. I decided to make actual pants. These were were made with 5 similar, but distinct parts. The most inner layer was the usual wolf fur, It wasn't anything special. The next layer was made of several lengths of Fiber Mail.
The layer of Fiber mail was to extend the flexibility and allow for good motion within the leggings. The middle layer was ebony chainmail and served as the main protective piece of the leggings. After the chainmail I used thinned leather to create a baggy out layer. This layer was made for looks and protection from heat. This left the last layer which was just ebony plating placed on important parts of the pants.
The enchantments for the pants were exceedingly simple. The first layer was given the normal Fortify Comfort and Fortify Resistances. While almost all of the other layers were enchanted with Resist Elements and Fortify Alteration. Only the last layer was enchanted differently as I had enchanted the plating with Fortify Heavy and Light Armor.
My boots were a different design from the rest of my outfit. With the boots I had to begin with the outer most layer. This layer was made in several parts. The first was stalhrim locked into several ebony plates. These plates were in specific shapes and fit together like pieces of a puzzle. This was because the next three layers were entirely made from dwemer mechanical designs.
The mechanism of the boots started with a small lever on the back. When it is off the boots are open and can be stepped into. When turned on the mechanisms click into place and the boot closes to lock a person into them. Other mechanisms of the boots removed water from inside the shoe, heat up the very bottom of the boots and finally suck up water to turn it into steam through the heating mechanism.
The design was entirely functional rather than protective. This was because who the hell would be attacking my feet? Unless I kicked someone they would never make contact with anything other than the ground. Though due to the design I couldn't enchant it much. The inner layer which was made of wolf fur was enchanted with the usual. While the rest was enchanted with three total enchantments. The three enchantments were Carry weight, Fortify Unarmed Strikes and finally Fortify Acrobatics.
My armor was all documented, but I still had three more items on the list. My crossbow which was mostly a normal crossbow. The differences were that I had added three magnification lens as a scope. Thought the most obvious difference was the fact I had changed the mechanism to be able to shoot two bolts. I had done this by turning the crossbow vertical.
The crossbow was enchanted on various parts. The enchantments in total were Siege Weapon, Fortify Precision, Fortify Accuracy, Fortify Penetration Power, Chaos Damage and finally I had enchanted the Scopes with Eagle Sight. To make the crossbow even more effective I had made thousands of barbed tipped bolts.
With this I sketched the crossbow and bolts adding them to the note book. This just left me with the final items. I had taken the effort to repair and restore Keening and Mehrunes' Razor. I had to remake Keening's hilt as the original hilt couldn't hold the Great Welkynd stone. However once remade I was able to turn Keening into a tri-tip dagger. Mehrunes' Razor was actually the harder repair. This was because I had to use one of my magic batteries to fuse the pieces back together. Even after using all the magic in one of the batteries I still had to supplement the repair with some of my own magic.
Originally I had planned to use the razor as an ingredient. However I don't think it was a good idea to reforge the daedric artifact of the Prince of Destruction. That felt like a poor choice. I would avoid any of his shrines as well just in case. With all the items documented I began to write out the self-assessment.

The updated Self-Assessment was more me removing things rather than adding more things. Though several things were still added. With the self-assessment done I was left with one final thing to do. Take everything that wasn't bolted down and I meant everything. This was why I had brought Philip down here.
I made sacks of leather from the items in the storage room. From there I stuffed them full of the varying materials, gemstones, enchanting slates. The glass containers all went into my inventory. I collected the workbenches, grindstone, tools. I had stuffed my inventory and deep storage to the max. This left me heavily encumbered unable to the point of being unable to move on my own.
"Viree! Viree!" She entered the forge and found me standing in the center of the now empty room.
She looked around the forge and back at me and sighed. "What did you do?"
I shrugged, "I can't move. I stuffed everything into my inventory."
She walked over to me and grabbed me. "Huh? You have all that stuff in that magical space?"
I nodded and she picked me up normally, "You feel heavy, but not that heavy. How does this work?"
She placed me back down as I explained. "Everything that matches the inventory carry weight becomes weightless. So you are feeling the additional weight that is making me unable to move."
She began dragging me around and smiled, "This is kind of fun."
I rolled my eyes, "I placed all the extremely heavy stuff within deep storage. So I am about triple my natural weight. Philip will be able to carry me easily."
Viree made an expression of acknowledgement. "That explains a little more on why you brought her. She has been a little anxious so if your done it is the time to leave."
Even if Philip was a war horse she didn't have infinite patience. "Let's get out of here. I wanna dump all this stuff in Proudspire manor and forget about it till I need them."
Viree rolled her eyes, "Alright, how are we getting out?"
I frowned, "Ah, right. Elevator or Cargo bay doors?"
Viree shook her head, "Let's just use the elevator."
