Hours of traveling later, they found a motel in the middle of a highway. Seeing the sky was turning dark, the group temporarily settled down here.

Unlike the dilapidated motel Khalifa went before, this one was much more modern. There was also an event’s place.

This also meant there were a lot of zombies.

Fortunately, they were strong and so many of them had awakened. It was not much of a problem because of this.

A loud yell came from the side, making everyone else flinch. For a moment there, they thought a strong enemy had appeared.

When they turned to see what it was, they just realized it was Hugo actively avoiding the zombie instead of killing it.

It was a normal zombie that shouldn’t have been a challenge to Hugo.

The difference was that it was wearing a clown outfit. Its makeup was peeling, it was drooling with bile, intestines out, and its red nose was about to drop.

"You’re afraid of clowns?" Kaize cackled as soon as he realized this. They grew up together, sure, but it seemed this guy still managed to hide interesting things from him!

Hugo paled. Clowns just creeped him out. It didn’t help that it was a damned zombie!

Khalfia noticed that two perfectly manly men turned into absolute idiots when together.

Anyway, someone took down the clown zombie and the group cleared out the inn. The men gathered the zombie corpses in one place afterwards to burn.

While they did so, Khalifa went ahead and cleaned up the rooms using her ability. Her water also had disinfecting function, should she need it, so the chosen rooms were actually quite clean after she was done with them.

It was very convenient.

She also prepared bath water for everyone so they were all quite fresh by bedtime.

"Look!" He yelled excitedly, like the kid that he was, and they followed the direction he was pointing at.

They saw a familiar monster truck, which was getting quite a bit of attention. It was used by a small family with a kid. They were definitely much better off than others, protected very well by that truck outfitted by Hugo himself.

Hugo and the others gave knowing smiles.

Hey, this made them unexpectedly happy.

Kaize looked at them curiously. "What is it?"

Khalifa giggled. "Remember when I told you I drove a monster truck?"

"OH."

"Yeah."

They all smiled, knowing their little act really saved a few lives.

The group chatted leisurely for a while, in a good mood, and time flew. It was nearing their turn, and they looked out to see the entryway closer.

They saw the car up front stop and everyone went down, which was normal, but then they saw them taking blood.

Unexpectedly, there have been a lot of changes.

"They’re taking blood samples to test for the virus." Jojo mumbled, stating the obvious.
