Kirigakure Gamer : Rise of the mist-Chapter 54: Fire Daimyo Attack (2)
Chapter 54 - Fire Daimyo Attack (2)
[Land of Fire]
The streets were empty, the bustling coming and going of travelers, merchants and peasants replaced by the eerie calmness of the night.
However, this soon came to an end.
The squad of four kirigakure ANBU shinobi had committed to an impossible mission: the attack on the Fire Daimyo.
Number three, the sensor of group, talked in the ANBU corps sign language: 'Enemy ahead, two guardians'
With his sharp senses, it was only natural for him to locate the insane reserves of the two jonins guarding the iron doors of the Fire Palace.
From a distance, the group had hidden under their cloak, minimizing movements, body temperature and breathing for better stealth. It was no jutsu, only skills that had formed over years of training.
[Your understanding of the skill [Mist Stealth] increases by 3 points...]
'Seems like I still have a lot to learn...', Takeshi thought as he analysed the proficiency of his teammates.
As if she sensed his admiration, number eleven nodded: "Don't worry. You're doing just fine for a newcomer. Your time to shine is up"
Even though they were weaker than him in combat, the difference in efficiency was huge. They had already taken out a dozen samurai, without making a noise, whereas he would have been spotted right away if he had been the one to do it, considering his massive chakra reserves and lack of swift, body disposal techniques.
The process was extremely smooth. Any guard that came was stunned, frozen by Eleven, and sealed in a scroll right away, leaving no trace whatsoever. At first, Takeshi thought it was a hidden art of an unknown clan of the mist, or of the ANBU corps itself. However, after investigating, he recalled that those were just regular storage scrolls that could be bought in any major village, or any black markets.
However, these tricks only mattered to give them an edge. It would never work on the targets they had on sight.
[Ranmaru Donzen - Lv. 70 Samurai]
[Chiriku - Lv. 80 Monk]
'What are those classes...One is a samurai, the other a monk...I don't like that...We don't have enough information', Takeshi bit his lips in annoyance
However, this was his strategy to begin with, and he could not back down now. Although nobody acknowledged him publicly, it was clear that neither Number 3, nor Number 2 nor Number 11 underestimated him. His kenjutsu and ninjutsu prowesses were one of the strongest in the corps. They did not know his background, and did not care. The ANBU corps were filled with assassins who acknowledged nothing but skills.
And Takeshi obliged.
Using a handful of signs, Number Two followed his initiative.
'Monkey, Dragon, Ox, Monkey, Serpent...'
Needles of Falling Rain [B]
Hidden Mist Jutsu [B]
Clouds formed above the building and a deep fog formed around the gates.
The combination of the two jutsu was lethal.
One condensed thousands and thousands of highly pressurized droplets of water that could basically pierce through regular steel shields, even more lethal than a rain of kunai and shurikens.
The second lowered the field of visions of those caught in the fog, preventing any parrying or dodging of those droplets.
Although Takeshi had never tested this combination before, it proved efficient.
Actually...
Far more efficient than he had imagined.

It was not one, ten or twenty notifications, but hundreds.
In a flash, Takeshi had unleashed a large-scale jutsu that claimed the lives of innocents, foes and targets likewise, indiscriminately.
Was it worth it?
Was the killing of others normal?
What had he become?
Those regular questions did not even cross the young prodigy's mind. He had become a thorough monster, obsessed by the sole objective of killing his target.

Neither of the two targeted Twelve Guardians had been injured by the attack. Chiruku, the fire temple monk, had used an artefact or a jutsu of some sort raising a blinding yellow barrier around him, dispelling part of the fog, and more importantly, protecting them from the highly lethal rain.
As the notifications overloaded Takeshi's vision, he deactivated them and rushed in close combat.

[You have dealt [Bleeding] ailment...]
Drawing his sword in lightning speed and taking Chiruku by surprise, his blade cut through the shield with ease, but was parried in the very last moment by the samurai. Still, Renmaru torso was grazed by the tip of the blade, causing blood to drop on the ground in an alarming rate.
*CLANG*
Takeshi unleashed a series of strikes, but each thrust was met with a deflecting blow, each slash deviated by his sword style.
Taking a step back, Takeshi spat: "You're from the land of Iron, aren't you?"
He remembered the teachings of his master Otuka, who had created his Haze Kenjutsu Style after stealing inspiration from swordsmanship grandmasters of the land of iron.
Renmaru squinted, but knew better than to give in Takeshi's plot. Chiruku could not help his fellow teammate either, engaged in a similarly predicament facing Number Two, who destroyed one barrier after another with highly lethal suiton jutsu. Although Number Two did not have enough chakra to destroy the barrier with ease like Takeshi did, Number Elven could weaken the barrier by using her ice bloodline release, reducing their protective prowess by leaps and bounds.
Meanwhile, Takeshi smiled. After all, he had only spoke to gain some time, and unleash what he knew best when kenjutsu was enough: Ninjutsu.

Three jets of water cut through the wind, and targeted Renmaru's wrist.
Unable to react in time, Renmaru clenched his teeth, trying to protect his posture as best as he could, avoiding the strikes.
However, everything happened too fast.

Two of the three jutsu met Renmaru. Holes in his forearm, he knelt on the ground, in pain. Takeshi did not hesitate, before finishing him off.
'Suiton no jutsu: Water Rising Slicer [B]'
In an instant, Renmaru's head rolled on the floor, lifeless. One of the twelve guardians had died, in a matter of seconds.

The attack had just begun.
Unknowingly, Takeshi had started to grow wilder...
Invisible to the naked eye, red chakra bubbles were dissipating in the air around him.
