Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 91
“Winnie!”
Winnie?
Yujin’s eyes grew even wider at the unexpected nickname, but that wasn’t all. Evelyn smiled brightly and suddenly wrapped her arms tightly around Winston’s neck. Seeing that, Yujin froze completely. Shocked, he watched as Winston not only didn’t push her away but laughed out loud. What’s more, he embraced her casually. Yujin felt like he might faint, struggling to breathe. Completely unaware of Yujin’s state, Winston pressed his cheeks alternately against Evelyn’s, even did a little “V” sign. Yujin observed every bit of this unfolding scene.
“What’s going on? How did you know I was here?” ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
From Yujin’s perspective, only after all the intimate gestures did Winston finally break away and ask first.
“I left the garage door open; I saw your car.”
Evelyn’s voice was cheerful as she asked in return.
“How about you? What brings you here?”
Winston answered simply.
“A vacation spot, of course.”
“Alone?”
“No way.”
Winston burst into laughter and turned around. Their eyes met—Yujin’s startled, Winston’s welcoming. Winston said,
“Come here, sweetheart. Why are you standing over there?”
Evelyn looked up at Winston with a surprised expression. That reaction hurt Yujin again. So she thinks I don’t belong with Winston, huh?
Driven by a pointless defiance, Yujin quickly walked over and wrapped his arms around Winston’s waist from behind. Winston smiled warmly as if finding Yujin endlessly adorable while looking down at him. Evelyn, looking bewildered, glanced between the two before fixing her gaze on Winston and speaking.
“You call him ‘sweetheart’?”
Winston replied, looking back at Yujin.
“Yeah.”
Clinging tightly to Winston, Yujin met Evelyn’s gaze. His heart pounded wildly, but he didn’t want to step back. Winston pulled him closer and said,
“Say hello, Yujin. This is my childhood friend Evelyn. We grew up together like siblings.”
Not siblings though. Feeling petty, Yujin gave Winston a sideways glare. But Winston kept looking at Evelyn and continued.
“Let me introduce you, this is Yujin. He’s my lover.”
Evelyn’s eyes widened even more. Winston’s arm around Yujin tightened, and Yujin clung even closer. That single phrase melted all the stubborn resentment Yujin had been holding, and he smiled shyly with a face flushed red.
After Evelyn left and it was just the two of them, Winston embraced Yujin as if he had been waiting and kissed his lips.
“You were startled by the sudden visitor, huh? It’s okay now.”
“Yeah, mmh.”
Yujin answered absentmindedly but soon realized something forgotten. As Winston tried to kiss him again, Yujin turned his head aside and muttered with a disgruntled voice.
“What’s with you suddenly showing up and hugging me like that...”
He had gone along with it before but now recalled how upset he really felt. Seeing Yujin pout involuntarily, Winston laughed out loud. Yujin’s mood darkened further, and he glared sharply.
“What? Why are you laughing?”
“Don’t be jealous, sweetheart. Evelyn’s not even worth it.”
“Not worth it?”
Trying to brush it off lightly, Winston soothed him gently.
“Sweetheart, I’ve really known her since birth. Even if she stood naked in front of me, I wouldn’t think anything of it. Honestly, Evelyn is like a man without a penis to me.”
Would she think the same? Winston’s startled face when he called Yujin ‘sweetheart’ in front of her lingered in his mind. But since Winston was denying it so clearly, Yujin didn’t insist further. After all, Winston said he was innocent.
There was nothing really suspicious...
Thinking over this quietly, Yujin murmured in a slightly defeated voice.
“You called me Winnie.”
He never expected such a nickname. But the fact that Evelyn and Winston were that close was true, wasn’t it? At that last proof, Winston answered so lightly.
“You call me that too.”
Yujin looked up blankly at Winston, who just smiled as if to say, What’s the problem?
Am I being petty?
Yujin suddenly wondered. Was he really getting so upset over nothing? Are other people not like me?
“Sweetheart.”
Winston continued gently to the confused Yujin.
“If something’s bothering you, tell me. It’s okay. I can explain everything. So don’t keep it inside.”
“Hmm?” Yujin said, and Winston kissed his cheek.
“If you bottle things up, it’ll pile up and ruin our relationship. I don’t want that.”
His kind yet sincere words gradually softened Yujin’s heart. Hesitating, Yujin carefully started speaking.
“I don’t like anyone else calling you Winnie...”
After starting the difficult topic, it became easier to continue. Taking a deep breath, Yujin went on.
“I told you to call me that, but then it feels like I’m just anyone. But I don’t like other people calling you Winnie either...”
Repeating himself, his voice trailed off. He didn’t even know what he wanted to say. Did Winston understand how he felt? Feeling small and intimidated, Winston said,
“Alright, I won’t let anyone call you that anymore.”
“Eh?”
Surprised, Yujin looked up, and Winston smiled as he continued.
“From now on, only you can call me Winnie. I’ll stop Evelyn and anyone else from doing it.”
Winston stroked Yujin’s cheek and met his eyes. Yujin stared blankly into Winston’s purple eyes. That easily? That simply?
Seeing Yujin’s disbelief, Winston asked.
“Feeling better now?”
If Yujin said no, Winston seemed ready to do anything. Somehow, that trust made the small knot of resentment inside Yujin slowly dissolve. Winston noticed from Yujin’s expression and smiled, urging.
“Come on, say it. Winnie.”
Winnie.
Murmuring the name inside his mouth, Yujin felt his heart might explode. He opened his mouth but hesitated many times before whispering softly.
“Win-ni...”
“Yes, sweetheart.”
Winston immediately answered. Overcome with emotion, Yujin covered his mouth with both hands and took a rough breath. Seeing this, Winston laughed loudly again and embraced him. Yujin also embraced Winston without hesitation and took a deep breath. Winston’s sweet scent flooded Yujin’s lungs. He felt joy and satisfaction spread throughout his body.
...Huh?
Suddenly one side of his body ached. It was a very slight discomfort but enough to notice. Yujin blinked and tilted his head in confusion.
What is this...?
It passed quickly, making it hard to tell what it was. Standing dazed, Winston spoke first.
“Shall we go out? We can buy a few more clothes while we’re here.”
“Again?”
Since they had brought the clothes bought last time, Yujin hadn’t even thought about it. Surprised, he asked, and Winston answered casually.
“Yeah, if you’re on vacation, you should wear clothes that fit the occasion.”
Winston released Yujin from his embrace, naturally held his waist, and took the first step. Yujin followed suit, and Winston spoke smoothly.
“Let’s look around for a nice restaurant on the way. We’ll have dinner there.”
“Okay, [N O V E L I G H T] sounds good.”
Yujin soon smiled brightly and hugged Winston’s waist.
Winnie.
Muttering the nickname softly to himself, his face flushed with embarrassment.
I love you, Winnie.
His heart pounded as if about to burst. Yujin took several deep breaths to calm down, then climbed into the car’s passenger seat.
