Lady Meilin is seduced by her green tea brother-in-law everyday-Chapter 186: Their best hits.
Chapter 186: Their best hits.
"As always, I appreciate your candidness." He responded sarcastically.
Mei Mei shrugged. "It happens Junjie, sometimes as parents, we fail and we screw up our children. Look at me, I was so determined to give my daughter a full family and I ended up traumatizing her. Her father was an even worse asshole. He didn’t care for my baby at all and he has another child with his mistress. A child he loves, so my baby is troubled as to why her father doesn’t love her.
Now, Mingzhu gets antsy when does not see Jingzhe for so long. When she comes home from school, if he is not around she has to speak to him on the phone and ask when he will be home for dinner. She has to go for therapy twice a week to talk about her feelings." She sighed. "Six Junjie, she is only six! I am worried about how all this will affect her in future.
All I can do is love her, support her, be there for her and hope that she will turn out alright."
She dashed into a changing room and changed in casual pants, a vest and jacket. When she came out, she was also holding her digging tools. "I am going to continue preparing my ponds, go to bed if you want to or follow me and listen to me talk about all the ways in which you and your wife dropped the ball when it came to raising Long Shuang."
He chose to follow her and when they reached the pond area, he found two robot butlers working on the grounds. It was still dark outside and the lights near the forest were dim so he had to squint to ensure that he was seeing robot butlers.
He looked at Mei Mei and she shrugged. Her mother was the inventor of robot butlers. Nobody truly believed that their family had retired the technology just because of one tragic incident.
If one visited the homes of the aristocrats and looked close enough, they would see a robot butler or two on the grounds.
Junjie did not comment on it. Instead, he looked at the ponds that she had dug earlier in the day had been filled with water, stocked with fish, rocks and aquatic plants.
"Wow! you work really fast with your not so human hands." he commented sarcastically.
"Tch!" She rolled her eyes. "Don’t act as if every royal palace in the empire does not have robot butlers."
"Why didn’t you hire laborers for this sort of thing?" he asked her.
She raised the speed and pushed it into the ground. "Why waste money when I can do it myself? It is a great way to work out and think at the same time. Now, can we get back to your daughter. What is the plan? Are you throwing her in the temple, never to be seen again?"
He shook his head. "Oh no! I would never do that. Honestly I am hoping that she can mend her ways in half a year and I will bring her back home. The problem is, her mother will undo all the good that has been done after she returns."
"Oh boy! you stepped in a pile of dog shit when you married that one." Mei Mei whistled as she shook her head. "How did two awesome people like us end up married to crappy partners?"
Junjie raised his hands and drew his head back. "At least I had no choice in who I married. You..." He gulped and shut up when he saw the daring look on her face. He decided to cleverly change the answer. "Maybe it is because we put a red cape on my father’s horse at the inauguration of the royal horse races and sent him charging onto the tracks with the superman theme song playing in the background."
Mei Mei threw her head back and laughed. "That was so funny..." She gasped between laughs.
How could she forget the look of horror on the emperor’s face when everyone stood up for the empire’s anthem only for super horse to grace them with his majestic presence. His long red cape with an S in the middle had been billowing high like a flag as he run.
"Do you remember how royal agents chased after super horse on foot?" he asked her.
She nodded, still laughing. The event had been covered on live television and super horse had made the news.
Mei Mei then said, "Perhaps it is because we freed Black guard on the royal christmas dinner hosted by the grand emperor that one time."
Both of them chuckled at the memory of that night. They had hidden behind a curtain and watched as the guests shrieked when Black Guard leapt onto the banquet table and devoured three roasted chicken, half of the deep fried pork chops and buried his head in a crystal jar of milk.
The grand emperor had not found their actions funny. Junjie had taken the fall and he had received a good beating on the buttocks.
"Oh, let’s not forget the royal ghost ball." Junjie mentioned.
It was not a royal ghost ball, it was simply a ball--specifically the history ball which was an extravagant affair held every year by the royal family and aristocratic families. Under the guise of celebrating history, they show off their wealth in various ways. As the Grand Orchid hotel where the celebration was to be held was organized, they had sneaked into the hall and added some extra decorations on their own.
When it was time to dance, music was interrupted by ominous distant whispering, shadows, ghostly weeping and flickering lights. The history ball had turned into halloween and guests panicked.
It was the grand emperor who discovered what they had done. After that prank, the two best friends had been forced to separate for the last four years of high school.
Their list of mischief was quiet long. It included a heist that almost became a diplomatic crisis when they stole all the deserts meant for the Swiss delegation. It had ended with two twelve years covered in cream after colliding with the royal head chef when they were escaping from the kitchen. He was carrying a tiramisu cake which ended up all over them.
The empress had been particularly miffed about that one. Mei Mei was ten years old at the time and she had been banned from stepping foot in the royal castle for three months.
"Our mischief does not explain why we ended up with terrible partners." She sighed and returned to the task of digging. "Let’s just write it off as shitty luck. I have escaped my abyss, you on the other hand...." She hissed. "Emperor’s don’t really divorce. Not that I am advising you to divorce your wife."
"Trust me, I have thought about it many times." he mumbled.
"And in the end, what did you decide?" She asked curiously.
