Chapter 68 - A Duel(3)

It is truly sad indeed.

That I have to fight such an insecure guy on my first day here in the Academy.

[You angered him, stating that his dick is small.] Dante jumped in.

I was in the heat. What did you expect from a guy who would stay in his house gaming all day? Of course, I like to trash-talk.

[You brought this upon yourself.]

And I will handle it myself, as well.

If I remember correctly, Felix is a... Fuck I forgot his mana core stage. It has been more than six months since I arrived in this world. Of course, I will forget insignificant things like Felix.

[He used to bully you...] Dante reminded.

Yeah, he did use to bully me, but unlike Ikaris—who used to shoot bolts of lightning at me. His bullying was pale and at one point in time, he stopped for the lord knows what reason.

But that does not mean I don't want to fuck him up.

Of course I do.

And as the saying goes: "If someone hurts you—Don't forgive them. Hurt them tenfold."

So if someone verbally abuses you. You should physically abuse them and humiliate them in front of others so that they can never even utter a single word in front of anyone.

A fitting end.

My eyes drifted to Raiden, he seemed like he did not want to be here at all. Unlike many protagonists, Raiden is not like actually a huge dreamer or something.

He does not go like: "Damn he is strong, I want to fight!" He will talk with you like an average guy in his teenage years would, and I did not mean the ones who listen to death metal. He is a good guy, but you had choices in the game.

Hehehe.

That being said, the poor protagonist of this game was set up by Celestina, and later she would ask who would be better to support her.

Hey, I am the obvious choice but I ain't helping that bitch of a princess.

[She should hear your thoughts.]

And she would fucking like it. That is why I did not ignore her fully, she likes guys who are hard to get. You can say it is her fetish of some sort.

"Take out your weapon, you bastard!" A shout pierced through my eardrums, prompting me to look towards the sad excuse of an in-game companion.

Raising my fist in the air and coating them with my silver aura, I smirked and shot back. "My fists are enough for someone like you."

Hearing my words, his anger doubled on the spot, ice crystals started forming on his hand and even clung to the edge of his thin sabre. "You will regret that." He growled in a low voice.

Let's see who will regret what.

"With this, the duel between Challenger Felix Von Frostholm with the Challenged Noah Von Blitzfeld..." He looked at the two of us and dropped his hand. "...Shall begin."

As soon as the words, crystals of ice started forming behind Felix. His sapphire eyes burned with a cold fire that I had started.

[Ice Spike]

The chant that left his mouth made the spikes of ice crystal spin towards me with an inhumane speed.

I charged towards them, my hands and feet coated with aura. Weaving through the cold air of the five or six spikes aimed at me. I pulled my arm back, ready to throw a punch at his bratty face.

[Ice wall]

White walls of frost emerged from the ground, blocking the path to Felix. But I did not stop, I connected my fist to the wall.

THUMP!

Crack!

The white wall started forming cracks and then shattered into many pieces, exposing Felix.

"What the?!" He jerked back, his sabre held in a stiff stance.

I let out a small chuckle and asked. "Surprised?"

He stepped back, more spikes of ice forming over him. [Ice spike]

This guy used to bully me? He is only fighting me with low grade fucking spells.

Dodging each of the spikes, I grabbed one of them. It's cold, biting into my skin, but it was not as cold as Arvax's flames.

I threw the spike back at him with all my strength. It cut through the air, marking its creator as its target.

Felix halted, raising his sabre to cut the spike in the air, but the thing is, he shouldn't have stopped running.

[Voltstep] I mumbled, purple lightning crackled around my feet. My body lunged with a purple flash, appearing right beside Felix mid-air, catching him completely off guard. My shins crackled with lightning as I aimed for his pretty boy face.

He turned his head almost instantly, his eyes widening as he looked at me and asked. "Wh-When did you unlock your legacy?"

"Quite some time ago," My left leg aimed at the right side of his face. He tried to dodge, but I was faster.

KRRK!

The sound of bones cracking echoed in the vicinity as my shin connected with his cheek. His body flew a few metres. Landing near a crowd of students, trembling at their feet.

His face was twisted and bruised, blood dripping from his nose. I am pretty sure I fractured his skull, but anyway, we have healing magic and a potion. 'Tis but a scratch.

I walked towards him slowly, he was not a hunter or a predator. He was just a prey held in the trap that I had planted. Sure, he could stand back up and fight again, but in the end of the day, he is nothing but a kid who has not faced death every day of his life.

He was raised in the comfort of his home, loved by his parents and siblings. Even though his mother died from an assassination, I don't care. It's none of my business to care.

I stopped in front of him, looking at his pathetic, swollen face. A face that used to be filled with pride when it belittled me. Now, it was just tears and blood.

Kneeling beside him, I leaned into his ear. "Will you concede?" I asked him, but he shook his head. "N-No..." He clenched his fist, raising it to punch me. But I held his wrist with an iron grip. "Just concede, it won't be painful."

"Like, hell I will—"

BAM!

My fist connected to his face, silencing his defiance. But he was still not knocked out, his breaths coming in ragged gasps.

"You are nothing but a pathetic scrub," I smirked. "It is truly sad someone as graceful as Lady Isolde had to die protecting someone pathetic like you."

His half-lidded eyes twitched, his mouth trying to push out any word, any statement that could refute what I had just said, but there was none.

I clenched my fists tightly, raising them for another punch.

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

CRACK!

Each and every blow was targeted at his face, my knuckles smeared with crimson. My face was dripping with his blood. But I did not stop; my punches continued until his skull broke completely.

[Noah, you are going too far!] Dante's warning rang in my ear, but I ignored it, disfiguring his face into something unrecognisable.

All while a smirk played at my lips.

Crackle!

Sizzle!

Swoosh!

Suddenly, three surges of mana occurred behind me. One was as hot as a forge, the other crackled like lightning, and the third was as cold as the flimsy spike of Felix.

I stopped my punches, turning my head around to see the people who had intervened in my joy. A boy with fiery red hair and amber eyes, he held a long blade in his two hands. Flames circling it.

The second was a girl with blonde hair and teal eyes, her rapier crackling with amethyst lightning as she aimed the tip towards me.

And the third was another girl with snow white hair and sapphire eyes, just like Felix. Her hands held a curved blade like his.

What a drag...

They all had their blades ready as if to kill me if necessary.

"Noah, stop! The duel is over, you have won."
