Legend of Dragon Son-in-law-Chapter 1345: Sowing Discord
Chapter 1345: Chapter 1345: Sowing Discord
"Mr. Ridge, if you don’t give me an explanation for today’s incident, we brothers really need to have a good talk!"
Smack!
Xander Cook slammed the hidden weapon box onto the table, glaring at the middle-aged man before him, cursing under his breath, "Damn cocky bastard!"
"Mr. Cook, what has got you so fired up?" Hagan Marsh wrapped in an army coat, holding a cigarette in his hand, asked slowly, "I was just reading in my room, and you come in here causing a racket. You need to at least let me know what this is about, right?"
He completely ignored Xander Cook’s furious demeanor, slowly held the burning cigarette above the ashtray, and lightly tapped it.
"Go to hell!"
Crash!
Xander Cook slapped away the ashtray in front of Hagan Marsh with the back of his hand and cursed with hands on his hips, "Playing innocent after what you did? I always heard that Hagan Marsh deals with corpse refining, and now it’s clear, you’re no good!"
As soon as these words left his mouth, the deputy commander behind Xander Cook turned pale.
"Commander..."
"Get lost!" Xander Cook pushed the deputy commander behind him away, cricked his neck, gritting his teeth, "Marsh, explain yourself?"
"I said, let me understand what’s going on first." Hagan Marsh pinched out the cigarette butt and slowly flicked it away, "I command the Seventh Route, and I don’t owe you anything. And in terms of status, we are equals. Xander Cook, behave yourself!"
Having finished speaking, he stood up and turned his back to Xander Cook.
The message was clear.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Even though Hagan Marsh had shown enough restraint, this did not extinguish Xander Cook’s rage but rather intensified it.
"Marsh!"
Smack!
He kicked over the wooden table, picked up the hidden weapon box, and pointed at Hagan Marsh, "Pretending to be ignorant?"
"Mr. Cook, are you serious with me?" Hagan Marsh hated nothing more than being called a corpse refiner.
And now, not only did Xander Cook call him that, but he also flipped his table.
Outside, a squad of men rushed in quickly.
"Commander Marsh!"
Seeing the mess on the ground, the guards were somewhat at a loss.
The heads were quarreling; these underlings simply had no standing to get involved.
"Stand down!" Hagan Marsh motioned the guards away, "Commander Cook and I have some matters to discuss alone. Stay outside the door, and no matter what happens inside, do not come in!"
Following the order, the guards quickly retreated.
The door was closed once again.
"Mr. Ridge, playing dumb when you know exactly what’s going on!" Xander Cook was obviously still furious.
"I don’t care what you want to say, but first, you need to understand one thing!" Hagan Marsh said sternly, pointing at him, "Ghost Boss and the City Lord are leading this big endeavor! This is a critical moment, and if you cause trouble from within, you know the consequences without me telling you!"
"Are you threatening me?" Xander Cook bared his teeth, clenching his fists tight, "Alright, just you wait!"
After speaking, he angrily left Hagan Marsh’s room, leading his deputy commander.
"Summon our brothers in Rat Town, conduct a carpet-style search! Immediately lockdown the three governed cities, kill any Seventh Route men on sight!" Walking on the carpet, Xander Cook bellowed with rage.
An immense humiliation!
Hagan Marsh dared to take advantage of him?
Trying to be his father?
Just remembering the look of superiority on the other party’s face in the room earlier made him feel sick!
"Commander, by doing this..." the deputy commander spoke with deep concern, "if the City Lord..."
"Hagan Marsh bullied my son, and now he dares to shit on my head! Even if the City Lord gets involved, I am not afraid! Order them to kill!"
Xander Cook roared furiously and strode away.
After he left, Hagan Marsh stood in front of the window, his expression grave.
The more he thought about it, the more something felt off.
Xander Cook might be hot-tempered, but he was far from being unreasonable.
The City Lord and Ghost Boss were leading, all heads of the Seventh Route were gathered here to discuss important matters.
At such a critical juncture, even an idiot wouldn’t stir up trouble.
"Commander!"
Just then, a man in a straw raincoat stepped out from the inner room, holding a laptop: "Have a look!"
"Hmm?" Hagan Marsh turned his head to look at the image on the screen.
"Isn’t this... Xander Cook’s son?" He recognized the boy on the screen at a glance, but what the boy said next made his face twist with shock!
"No wonder!"
Hagan Marsh covered his face with his hands, struggling to calm himself down!
With constant friction between the Ninth Route and Seventh Route, at this critical juncture, Delaney actually had Xander Cook’s son call him grandpa, was there any good to come of this?
"Call Delaney immediately!"
He clenched a fist and paced back and forth in the room.
Muttering to himself: "This is a damn trap!"
"Commander, General Wilson’s phone is unreachable," the man in the straw raincoat responded.
"Call..." Hagan Marsh took a deep breath, and then stamped his foot in frustration: "Forget it, I’ll do it myself!"
Having said that, he took the phone and called Nicholas Pendleton.
...
"Is what you say true? My two elder brothers can really be removed silently and without causing any stir?" Nicholas Pendleton sat in Delaney’s room, having a frank conversation with the enemy who had killed his sworn brother.
There are no eternal friends in the world, nor eternal enemies.
All there is, is self-interest.
"Trust me, you might be getting a call from Hagan Marsh in a little while,"
After Julius Reed said this, he picked up his teacup and gently sipped his tea.
Ding!
Suddenly, the phone rang.
Nicholas Pendleton’s body twitched and he quickly answered it.
"Youngest, are you in the military?"
Hagan Marsh’s anxious voice came through the phone.
"Father, I am here. What’s the matter?" Nicholas Pendleton, excited yet pretending to be calm, asked.
But the look he gave to the young man in front of him was full of admiration!
Such prescience!
"Where’s Delaney?" When Hagan Marsh asked this question, Nicholas Pendleton almost fell to the ground.
"He... He might be in Rat Town?" Nicholas Pendleton’s throat moved, and his voice was somewhat hoarse.
"Your throat..."
"I caught a chill last night, father. What are your instructions?"
"Immediately send someone to rescue Delaney, then lock him in the dungeon for interrogation over his absurd actions!"
"Delaney... he..."
"There might not be enough time, go save him first! We’ll talk about the rest later!"
"I’m on it!"
Nicholas Pendleton hung up the phone, his emotions unsettled for a long time.
It took him a while to snap back to reality, his mind in tumultuous shock.
"Sir, you guessed everything right!"
From the call from Hagan Marsh to the order to bring back Delaney.
Not a single step amiss.
All within the control of the Admiral of The North Sea.
The honorific ’Sir’ he used already revealed his admiration for Julius Reed.
"Go," Julius Reed stood up, picked up the bloodstained Douli from the ground: "Once your older brothers are killed, I will help you take Rat Town."
Having said this, he headed straight upstairs.
"Please wait for the good news, sir!" Nicholas Pendleton took a deep breath, and as if in a dream, left Delaney’s small western-style building.
Just as he stepped out, the guards outside looked at him nervously.
"Immediately go find Howie Will and Seamus Jackson, to my office for a meeting," Nicholas Pendleton said, his face regaining its previous indifference.
