Ever since the first time Nyria had seen Aoni launch an ice bullet, she had been curious about how it worked. After all, she was still a young fledgling and had no one guiding her, not even reinforced instincts, unlike Glacia, who seemed somewhat exceptional in that regard.

So while it may not have been strange for the floof to suddenly be able to glide across the snow or even coat her claws in ice, the same couldn't be said for Nyria.

Add to that her natural curiosity and a Lord who seemed to make the impossible possible, and it didn't take long for her to start wanting lessons.

Through these lessons in the days leading up to Aoni's departure back to Terra, the Lad had done all he could to put things in simple terms for her. While she could only form the most basic of objects, such as small snowballs or ice cubes, it was a start.

Then, when Aoni eventually returned to Terra, she put all her free time into working on manifesting Ice attacks, with her primary focus being…

"CREEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Opening her beak as wide as possible, Nyria's voice bounced off the walls like a sonic attack, reverberating at such a high pitch that Aoni and Glacia felt a bit lightheaded, primarily due to their underdeveloped hearing.

The mole crickets, on the other hand, weren't nearly as lucky.

Being blind monsters, their primary sense used to move about and even fight was their hearing; thus, the instant Nyria attacked, their eardrums exploded, and most, if not all, of the insects, dropped like rocks to their bellies and screamed in agony.

---

While all of this transpired in less than a second, Aoni watched on in amazement as a full-on icy-blue Jetstream erupted from his birb's mouth down toward the lake in a display that caused his mouth to drop open.

'Are you a fucking DRAGON? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?' He screamed mentally as the stream collided with the lake and turned a large portion directly into a block of solid ice.

Descending down from around a hundred feet above and slamming into the water, at first, all Aoni could see from where he hung was a spike forming underwater at the point of impact, but with each passing second, the spike grew wider and wider until the patch of frozen lake had expanded a good 1/4th of the body of water.

Now, about the bugs that were originally floating… well, instant death was the obvious result. Between the rapid temperature drop and the sonic nature of Nyria's attack, they, being the closest in proximity, took the brunt of her assault, with half their heads even exploding.

{'NOOO my pointsssss!'} Seeing the heads popping, Nyria, of course, panicked at first, but even that momentary lapse in concentration caused the density of her Ice Breath to diminish by more than half.

{'It's fine. I already tallied up all the monsters in the lake as your kills, and right now, you have a solid lead on your sister and me. Glacia, let loose, attack the big group!'} Rolling his eyes and finding his birb's reaction adorable, Aoni released the stalactite and dropped from over a hundred feet in the air before pulling out a small foldable object from his inventory and opening it over his head.

With a soft popping sound, the miniature parachute, just a bit wider than his shoulders and square-shaped, opened up, allowing him to glide safely to the ground; then, after quickly storing it away, Aoni drew his swords and rushed into combat.

---

Looking across the cavern and catching sight of her Lord effortlessly cutting through one buggie after another, Glacia panicked because she knew if she didn't start doing the same, victory would escape her paws before she would even have a chance to try.

---

At the same time, after being reassured that her point tally was safe, Nyria concentrated fully on her Ice Breath, keeping the stream steady and solid enough that it could continuously expand across the rapidly freezing lake until finally, after around 10 minutes, all that remained was a giant solid block of ice.

Since the task was complete, and her Energia reserves were dangerously low, Nyria pried open her pack and gulped down a few fruits to replenish it before asking if she could join the fight.

---

Roughly an hour later, lying in a small circle, Aoni, Nyria, and Glacia could be found covered from head to toe in gore, breathing heavily and completely exhausted.

Even if their opponents were basically blind and deaf, that didn't mean killing them was simple; well, technically, if they were only 1-Star insects, it was no challenge at all, but when it came to the 2-Star mole crickets, they had much more situational awareness and an almost 6th sense giving many of them the ability to dodge at the last second.

Even so, scattered throughout the cavern were the corpses of around 40,000 to 50,000 insects, all of which were without heads.

Honestly, it looked like a bomb had gone off down in the cavern; pillars of stone were toppled, the structures created by the bugs had been destroyed, and the ground was slick with sickly yellow blood.

Yet even with all the mess scattered around them, the trio of Lord and Summons were happy as pigs in shit, and all for different reasons.

For starters, Aoni felt he finally had a chance to see how much he'd grown and had even gotten to experiment with several new attacks during the mock war.

Nyria's happiness came in the form of praise given by Aoni; he was thoroughly impressed not only by her Aptitude with Ice Energia attacks but the variety of different techniques she'd come up with on her own, like adding a sonic effect to her ice breath, or how she could fire shards of ice with a flap of her wing.

And then…there was the floof, who, at the end of the battle, emerged victorious with an astounding kill count of 18,231 mole crickets.

That's right, Glacia had ended up killing nearly half of all the monsters single-handedly and like an expert assassin most of the time.

So, her happiness was due to personal greed, not growth or achievement…as expected.
