Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Real power
Then another battle began as Jakol moved again. It was somewhat the same entry, with the same speed and execution.
But this time, Jeff didn’t think of it as just a simple attack. Though it appeared straightforward, he recognized how dangerous it truly was.
The speed it’s precision, everything about it screamed potential disaster if he didn’t react quickly enough.
Jakol’s movements were clean and efficient, and Jeff knew he had to be smarter, more precise in his next move.
Instead of bracing himself, Jeff moved. His intention was not to block, nor to counter, but to intercept.
He stepped in as he lowered his stance, the weight of his body shifting just right. With a sudden burst of energy, he launched an uppercut straight toward Jakol’s chin.
The move was a gamble, but it was his only chance. The punch flew with all the force he could muster, aiming for a quick, decisive hit in the midst of Jakol’s relentless assault.
It wasn’t clean nor perfect, but it was different and not weak either since he put his full force.
"Get hit, get hit," he prayed inwardly.
And for a heartbeat when he saw his fist nearing towards it, then it happened. Jakol just tilted his head instinctively, just letting that punch graze past his cheek by a hair.
Seeing this Jeff thought he had him, but then he saw that Jakol outstretched his arm mid-motion.
With one fluid motion fluid step to the side, he locked him with the elbow as he twisted his wrist and drove his palm directly into his chest.
The strike from Jakol landed like a battering ram making his eyes almost out from its sockets.
Crack!
Jeff’s ribs caved in again, but before he could even fall. Jakol lifted a knee striking squarely into his guts, folding him in half midair.
With that came another finishing blow, and that is a brutal spinning back fist that crashed into the side of his face twisting his head violently.
That force sends him crashing to the floor like a broken mannequin, his bones were fractured his limbs were limp.
Blood kept dripping from his nose, and he even felt that some of his teeth were broken.
"Damn... You... System!" he cursed inwardly.
His body laid still, the only movement left in him was the shallow rise of his chest.
And just like before, the pain lingered only for a moment before vanishing again. But this time he didn’t moved for a moment.
He just laid there clearly in a though as he stared at the ceiling of the white room.
"What kind of move should I do next? Should I just run? No, no, no..." he said shaking his head.
Jakol was incredibly fast. If he really tried to run, he would still be beaten. But then, out of nowhere, a hand clamped onto his foot, making him jerk his neck to look down.
It was something cold, a sensation that sent shivers down his spine. His neck instinctively jerked up, his eyes widening. There, standing at the foot of him, was Jakol.
As he lay below him, Jakol looked like a statue carved from black marble looking so imposing and unnervingly lifelike.
The atmosphere around him felt heavy, like the very air had thickened in his presence.
"Ah, can we call a timeout," jeff said making a time out hand sign.
When he said that the hand wrapped even more tightly around his legs, and before he could even react.
He was yanked harshly, his body sliding across the floor like a ragdoll. Jakol stepped forward and delivered a brutal stomp to Jeff’s front.
A loud crack echoed through the white room, causing Jeff to vomit as he tried to gasp for air.
"Ahh!" he screamed, coughing violently as his ribs shattered once again.
Without a pause, Jakol followed up. He effortlessly lifted Jeff by the collar, his grip was like iron. Jakol then slammed his knee into Jeff’s stomach.
The force lifted him slightly off the ground before another crushing elbow strike came down between his shoulder blades, folding him in half as if he were a piece of paper.
Jeff hit the floor again, twitching as a breath ripped clean from his lungs.
[Host, please focus on the battle]
Hearing the system’s warning the battle was paused for a moment as he was healed again, he stood up with red eyes.
"System, can you at least put it in easy mode for me? I’m clearly a beginner in fighting! Why did you set the difficulty so high?" he shouted, his voice echoing through the white room.
[Just to be clear here, yours is already set to easy mode. And you want me to lower the level for you? Aren’t you a weak-minded person for asking me this, Host?]
Being called weak made him angry, and this was easy mode? Which part of the battle was supposed to be easy?
"Oh yeah? Name me one part of this training that’s easy!" he snapped, pointing at the glowing panel in frustration.
[All of it. Instructor Jakol is currently limited to 5% of his actual combat capability. You haven’t even seen a fraction of his real form. If he gets serious, every bone in your body would be reduced to paper.]
[Notice that’s only his combat ability. If we added skills and other professions related to combat, like using weapons and guns, the battle would have ended in just 1 second. Even if he didn’t use weapons, with just an attack from his fingers, you would already be disabled.]
Hearing this, Jeff felt like it couldn’t be real at all. He was pretty sure that the combat battle he just faced must have been his full quarter combat power.
Seeing his doubtful look, the system glowed again.
[If you don’t believe me, let me expand your vision.]
Then Jakol, who was still frozen in place, suddenly began to change. It started slow and with a flick in the air a rising heat began to rise like a bonfire.
Its figure remained unmoving, but the space around him began to bent and distort as if the very room was being pressure by something it couldn’t contain.
Then a dense suffocating weight rolled across the white floor like an unseen wave. The one sterile atmosphere shifted into something oppressive, it was heavy and violent.
The aura spilling from Jakol’s body was no longer silent. It screamed, rather it roared at him like a tiger thundering in the place.
The very presence itself was the kind that can crushed a large kingdom by being alone, it can end wars and even turned gods into corpses.
Even though his body is still not moving, his very existence now felt like a god of war that had descended into the mortal plane even by just looking at him made, Jeff’s face pale.
"Umm, system... I believed you now..." he said stuttering as he swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
But the system was silent not caring about him at all, when all of a sudden Jakol moved.
It was not a full stepped, or something that was rushed, rather it was just a blur.
As he blinked feeling shocked by this, Jakol was right in front of him the imposing aura made his legs shivered like it was submitting.
There was no sound that was made, and he had no time to react as one finger extended from Jakol’s hand moving with a precise strike.
He cannot dodge, he was slow, very slow for this to dodge. It tapped against his chest hitting some of his acupoints instantly his body convulsed.
His blood felt like it reversed direction, surging backward through his veins in a fiery spiral.
His vision spun as his heart skipped and restarted erratically. Every muscle that was inside him was locked, every nerved he had inside of him flare.
It was if his insides were twisting in ways that the human body wasn’t built for. He dropped into his knees, screaming soundlessly as a tsunami of pain swallowed him whole.
This is an internal destruction, which is pretty cruel and powerful. What he felt right now is something that pain, shouldn’t even be possible to create.
