Lunar Legacy: Rise Of The Beastlord-Chapter 93: Water Mage
Chapter 93: Water Mage
The restaurant’s parking lot was silent, the bodies of four men spread across the clearing. One was plastered into a car, one had a glass shard sticking out of his chest, one had a broken spine, and the last... He was lucky to still be alive. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Jayden stood at the center of the chaos—shoulders rolled back, hair wild like a stormwind had kissed it, claws dripping scarlet, lips twisted in a grin that could haunt nightmares.
Across from him, the so-called leader of the guards.. the water-conjuring elite, stood his ground. The remaining three bodyguards standing behind him in fear.
He took a step forward, his face a hard mix of fury and caution.
"It’s over, kid. You’re still outnumbered," he growled, fists curling with residual mana. "Tell your girlfriend over there to hand over the ring and we can all go home."
Jayden’s golden beast eyes glinted like twin suns behind a stormcloud. He slowly turned his head, locking eyes with the man.
Then he laughed.
A deep, animalistic chuckle, like thunder low in the belly of the sky.
"Outnumbered?" he repeated. "You’re mistaking numbers... for chances."
He took a step forward, his feet dragging through the blood-soaked earth.
"I’m not leaving until I’ve dealt with every single one of you," Jayden said, voice dripping with venom.
Then, like a dagger tossed casually at royalty, he pointed at the rich man quivering in the background, hiding behind his guards like a roach behind a curtain.. "You too, old man."
The rich man flinched like he’d been slapped with a gauntlet.
"What are you waiting for? Teach him a lesson!" he barked at the last standing guards. "How dare he talk to me that way?!"
The leader sighed, flexing his fingers as blue streams of mana began to swirl around his wrist. "I didn’t want to hurt a kid... but you’ve left me no choice."
Penelope saw this and acted immediately. She stepped forward, ready to intervene, but Jayden’s voice sliced the air like a whip.
"No. I’ve got this. Please.. don’t interfere." he pleaded.
She paused. Eyes narrowed. But then... she smiled. A slow, dangerous smile.
"Okay," she said. "But be quick. Or I will interrupt... and steal all the fun for myself."
Jayden grinned. That wild grin that made his eyes shimmer with unholy delight.
"Y’know," he said, facing the leader. "You’re the only one here I consider worthy of fighting."
"The rest are weak.." he added, motioning to the three guards behind the leader. Then he glanced at the ones that were passed out, and scoffed. "I was just having fun with these ones."
"You brat!" the leader spat in rage. "You’re just an insolent kid who needs to be taught a lesson. And your arrogance will be the cause of your death."
Jayden chuckled. "I’m not arrogant. Your men are just too weak. Here, I’ll prove it." he said. And almost immediately... His aura surged.
The beast inside him snarled with delight. His muscles expanded, hair stretched, claws cracked outward, and his canines extended into fangs. His transformation surged like a heartbeat exploding through his body, tripling all his stats.
Finally, he stood as a ferocious predator. The partial lupine form in all it’s glory.
Gasps echoed from the remaining men, as their eyes widened in terror. They looked like they had seen a ghost... But that would have been better. What stood in front of them was far worse than a ghost.
They had seen Jayden use claws but just assumed it was a weapon. But what they were seeing now was entirely different, it looked like a wolf, but at the same time, a man. A creature only found in legends.
They were all shook to the core... except for Penelope who had been watching the whole time.
"It’s been so long since i last saw this transformation." she muttered to herself with a nostalgic smile. "Oh this brings back some good memories."
The rich man paled like he’d seen death himself. "W-What the fuck is that...?!"
The leader took a cautious step back, sweat beading on his brow, but he was only slightly intimidated. He clenched his fist and mustered all the courage in his belly. Then he took a deep breath and raised his hands to attack... But Jayden was gone.
"Huh?" he blinked, wondering where Jayden was. Suddenly, his instincts flared. Screaming at him to turn.
And just as he did...
Jayden appeared behind the remaining three guards, moving faster than thought, claws flashing.
The leader’s eyes widened. But he was too slow to react. Jayden struck first.
SLASH!
One man howled as his chest was torn open, blood spraying into the air like a crimson fountain.
SWIPE!
Another man screamed as Jayden’s claw carved across his waist, and before either could recover...
BAM!
Jayden slammed their skulls together with a sickening crack, sending them into unconsciousness instantly.
Then, he turned to the last of the trio. The blonde earth bender. The one who’d tried to impale him.
"This is for almost spiking me earlier." he muttered coldly, his claws raised.
CRACK!
Both claws drove simultaneously into the man’s shoulders, destroying the joints with surgical precision. The man screamed in agony, arms dangling uselessly like snapped branches. Then he collapsed, and passed out.
Jayden exhaled, rising slowly from the pile of unmoving bodies. His shadow now looked less like a boy.. and more like a demon forged from fury and fangs.
The leader’s mouth dropped. His jaw trembled. Jayden had taken out the rest of the men, all in under twenty seconds.
"You... you demon! You’ll pay for this!!" he roared.
Jayden only chuckled. "You should be lucky i even let you last this long. I should have taken you out earlier." he stated.
Before the fight began, Jayden had scanned them all with Dragon Eye. He analyzed every level, every ability. And strategized perfectly.
Eight men, all in the Level 25 range.. except the leader, who stood at Level 28.
Jayden knew he could win if he took them out quickly. So he put all his free stat points into speed and eliminated them strategically.
The second man he attacked... the one he punched in the face and sent flying to the building, was a level 25 lightening ability user.
People that possessed elemental abilities were usually more stronger than normal. And they had a good target range. That was why Jayden took him out quickly.
He left the blonde earth bender because he was just at level 23... and that almost cost him.
But the leader.. who possessed the element of water, Jayden left him because his level was almost at 30, which meant he was powerful to some extent. So Jayden saved him for later and planned to fight him last in the hopes of having a challenging and satisfying battle.
"Alright," Jayden said, eyes gleaming. "I’m hungry for a good fight, mister. And i consider you worthy. So please... don’t disappoint me."
