Chapter 222: Chapter 223 Death Knight

"Where am I, boy?" The figure asked.

"A cave in the middle of nowhere, who are you?" Ethan asked but got no reply as the knight stood there looking around.

The knight stood tall, his armor shining under the light, each piece carefully crafted and fitted perfectly together.

His gloves were large and strong, with the edges worn smooth from holding a sword countless times.

The chest plate had the faint marks of an old crest, nearly faded away.

He didn’t move, and there was no sound of breathing, just the quiet clink of metal when he shifted slightly.

His helmet, topped with a simple plume, hid whatever was inside, leaving an eerie emptiness while his eyes shone bright red. A long, dark cape hung from his shoulders, trailing behind him like a shadow.

(Why is he looking around, I don’t think he has any interest in fighting you)

"A voice is in my head telling me to kill you; it seems my life was given back to me on a condition: would you die if told to?" The knight asked, its voice imposing.

"Why the hell would I do that" Ethan spoke immediately.

"I thought so" the knight muttered and brandished his sword facing it to Ethan.

"It seems I have no choice" Ethan took a deep breath as he focused on the opponent in front of him.

*BOOM!!*

A loud sound followed as the knight dashed towards Ethan, breaking the ground underneath its feet; it was so fast Ethan could barely keep up.

The knight swung its sword immediately. Ethan was in strike range, but Ethan reacted as fast as he could, blocking the strike, which was a mistake on his part.

*BOOM!!*

Ethan was sent flying and crashed into the wall; the power behind the knight’s strike was enough to send him flying even after he blocked the attack.

Ethan quickly stood up, breathing heavily as the knight walked towards him, each step echoing in the room they were in.

’What the hell was that, I blocked it and still got pushed back, one slash from that would definitely split my body in two’

(That’s because of the charge, if there’s enough space between the two of him and he charges forward you have to dodge his attack at all costs, this is going to be hard)

"Wait... there’s no need for us to fight, we can just..." Ethan stopped as the knight increased its step.

Ethan’s breathing was heavy, and the next moment, his hands began to tremble; unlike when he was in front of Vala, this knight was definitely; for him to survive, Ethan had to die, but earlier, Vala didn’t want to kill him, or he would have died.

(Ethan stand your ground, you’re going to win)

[Lightning bolt]

Ethan stretched his hands forward and shot a bolt of lightning towards the knight, which he deflected with his sword, sending it upwards.

*BOOM!!*

[Lightning bolt, lightning bolt, lightning bolt]

Ethan cast three lightning bolts in rapid succession, but the knight deflected all of them, causing even more chucks of the ceiling to come crashing down.

Ethan stared at the knight; he was trying to buy time, time to come up with a plan, but nothing was coming to his head; the only realistic idea he had was to fight and not die.

The knight continued his advance, each step like the beat of a drum, the knight could finish off Ethan if he wanted but he didn’t, almost like he wanted to enjoy the battle ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Ethan braced himself as the knight moved forward and swung his sword in a wide arc, but unlike the first time, it was a bit slow and didn’t have as much power.

Ethan blocked the attack with his sword, but the force behind the knight’s blow was still overwhelming.

The impact jolted Ethan’s arms, and he stumbled back, barely maintaining his footing but his eyes quickly focused on the knight.

The knight didn’t give him a moment to recover. He swung again, this time aiming for Ethan’s side.

Ethan barely managed to parry the strike, the knight’s blade grazing his sword and sending sparks flying, He quickly jumped backward, creating a bit of space between them.

Sweat trickled down Ethan’s face as he fought to stay focused. The knight’s strikes were precise and powerful, pushing Ethan back with each hit.

’Hal did you come up with an idea, I can’t keep this up, I’m going to die’

(He’s stronger, faster and his armor is enchanted and immune to magic and your sword, I have no idea if you should run away, or try Hannah or Cynthia)

’That’s right, Cynthia marked me in...SHIT,’ Ethan shouted as the knight dashed toward him.

He gritted his teeth and held his ground as the knight brought his sword down on him with full force.

Ethan blocked the knight’s attack with both hands on his sword, but he was still driven to his knees. The knight pressed down on Ethan’s sword, attempting to overwhelm him.

Ethan managed to deflect the knight’s attack to the side, causing the knight’s sword to strike the ground and shatter chunks of it. Seeing this as an opening, Ethan swung his sword toward the knight’s lower half.

*CLANG!!*

The sword hit the knight’s right leg creating a clanging sword just like when two swords crossed.

"Shit..."

With a swift, brutal move, the knight swung its sword towards Ethan.

Ethan was caught off guard and had to leap aside to avoid a potentially deadly cut.

The knight’s blade grazed Ethan’s leg, making him wince in pain.

Ethan knew he had to keep moving, but with his legs injured, there wasn’t much he could do.

The knight’s skill and power were evident. Every swing was calculated, and each block from Ethan felt like it took all his strength.

The knight paused momentarily, giving Ethan a brief respite. But even as Ethan gasped for breath, he could see the knight preparing for another attack. The knight’s eyes, glowing red, locked onto Ethan, showing no sign of mercy.
