Varek moved immediately as both of them stepped into the cave. It was dark inside, and the deeper they went, the more the walls started to glow with that soft, peculiar red light, pulsating softly like some kind of heartbeat.

The heat in the air began to grow heavy step by step, and soon Ethan’s face poured sweat and finally they saw the beast resting on the ground.

The salamander stood up completely, its size bigger than 3 horses put together, and its body with shimmering red scales.

A crackling bolt of electricity shot from his hands, striking the salamander. This time, the creature howled in pain, clearly hurt by the lightning, and staggered backward.

Ethan pressed forward with his sword, but the salamander was quick to recover. It roared again and unleashed another blast of fire.

Ethan quickly raised his hands, [Advance Barrier]. The barrier absorbed the flames, but he could feel the heat radiating through it, Ethan wanted to see if his barrier could take the blast.

Glancing around, he noticed the rocky outcrops in the cave. "I need to use my surroundings," he thought.

Ethan dashed to the side, staying out of the creature’s line of fire as he finally hid behind the rock inside the cave and immediately his flame cloak vanished.

"Shit, the rocks are covered with the crystal" Ethan muttered as he raised his head and saw the salamander charging towards the rock.

Immediately, the salamander was closed. It turned around, swinging its tail towards the rock, and crushed it to bits.

[Chain Lightning] Arcs of electricity sparked in the air, hitting the salamander multiple times. Each strike seemed to weaken it and momentarily stunned it making it unable to move.

Ethan was now at the center of the cave; after increasing his intelligence, all his spells seemed to have leveled up; even his chain lightning now had a stunning effect, but he had no idea how long it lasted, so he didn’t attack and just stood at the center of the cave.

The salamander finally regained its movement after about 5 seconds, and this time, it didn’t charge towards Ethan.

’Even if I do summon Varek, once I get close to one of these walls, he’ll be gone again, I just need one good chance’

Ethan stretched his hand forward, and eight wind blades formed in front of him, but as soon as the blade flew towards the salamander, it opened its mouth again, and another torrent of flame burst out.

The salamander shrieked and shook its body, hitting Ethan away, and opening its mouth again, but this time, it was facing the entrance of the cave and fired another torrent of flame toward the top of the cave.

"Shit" Ethan stood up and dashed towards the salamander, but it already released its flames before Ethan finally decapitated it.
