Ethan moved in and moved towards where he sat yesterday but before he reached the queen met his eyes.

He immediately bowed his head and moved towards the seat.

"Why is he not part of the tournament, didn’t he make it to this stage?" The queen asked Maria, who was sitting close to her.

"He didn’t take part; we wanted him to be in the best shape before returning to training; we couldn’t risk another injury, Your Majesty," Maria spoke.

"I want him to face Isabella; after this match, I want to confirm something," the queen spoke.

Maria couldn’t refuse an order from the queen, Isabella, who was waiting for her turn, and an opponent would be disappointed.

Maria spoke to Selena, who was close to her, and Selena stood up and walked towards Ethan with a smile on her face.

Ethan, who was watching the battle between Edith and Hannah, saw Selena coming towards him, and he knew something was wrong.

Selena sat down close to Ethan with a smile on her face, "What did you do to the Queen?"

"Me, I didn’t do anything" Ethan replied.

"She wants you to face Isabella after this battle" Selena spoke.

"After this, but I’m not in the tournament, shit"

"I’m not the one who’s supposed to tell you but I came because I want you to lose, Isabella is powerful sure, but I still have no idea if she’ll be able to win against you, so all you have to do is show your strength, fight well and then lose, nothing will happen since you’re still recovering and Isabella would at least get in her mother’s good graces" Selena explained.

"No problem then, I can do that" Ethan replied.

"Good, when the fight starts, tell Isabella you’re going to lose so she doesn’t get nervous"

"Oh, the fight is over," Selena spoke. Ethan looked at the training ground, and Hannah was on the ground; Edith won.

Ethan knew Hannah held back; if this was a death match, Hannah would win after revealing her true form, but this was just a duel.

Selena walked towards the Queen as Laura stepped forward.

"The next match would be better, Isabella and Ethan," Laura spoke, and Isabella’s eyes widened; immediately she walked forward towards Laura.

"Ethan is not participating in the tournament?"

"The Queen’s order" Laura muttered as Ethan walked into the training ground from the stands.

Both of them walked into the magic circle and we’re now some distance away from themselves.

"Just fight a normal battle; you’re going to win," Ethan muttered.

"What! You’re going to let me win; you really think I can’t beat you on my own?" Isabella spoke.

"That’s not what I meant, I just..."

"I’m going to win on my own, fight your best, I’m going to prove to my mother that I’m strong enough" Isabella muttered.

’She angry, I’ll put up a good fight and then lose in a way she won’t suspect’

(You think she’ll be able to keep her calm and even fight, look at her, she’s so nervous I’m not sure she’ll be able to cast a spell)

’That’s what happens when you’re trying to impress your mother, who just so happens to be the Queen of the entire kingdom’

(Maybe you should use the battle to talk some sense into Isabella, why would she waste her time trying to please her mother, is not like she’ll cut her off)

’You’re not human so I’m sure you won’t know, but humans have a tendency to prove people wrong, more so if you’re a princess with a lot of pride’

"Start," Laura spoke, and both of them took a stance.

Ethan and Isabella waited for the first person to make a move, and since Isabella wasn’t coming, Ethan charged forward.

[Spell (s): Fire(4), Wind(3), Sensory(2), Barrier(2), Lightning(3), Darkness (1),Summon(1)]

He had all his spells at his disposal, but as usual, he started with flame, shooting two fireballs towards Isabella.

Ethan’s fireballs moved with incredible speed but collided with a wall of ice and were stopped, but they destroyed the wall of ice.

Isabella immediately raised both of her hands and a tiny ball of water formed in her hands.

Ethan already stopped charging and stretched his hands firing off two more fireballs toward her but Isabella didn’t try to block the attack instead she shot her tiny ball of water towards Ethan’s fireball and as soon as both of the spells collided, the tiny ball of water turned into a huge amount of water.
