Madam, Please Behave-Chapter 241: Imitating Father’s Actions
Liu Changqing stared blankly at An Yuanyao, who was smiling as she neatly folded the clothes and placed them on the growing pile beside her.
The fact that she refused to tell him who she was talking to only made Liu Changqing more curious.
Who was on the other end of that call?
The thought nagged at him until he finally put down the clothes in his hands and walked toward An Yuanyao. He stopped in front of her, standing so close that she had no choice but to look up at him.
“What’s wrong?” she asked softly, pausing in her folding.
“Since you won’t tell me who called…”
Liu Changqing suddenly sat down beside her, reached out, and pulled her into his arms.
“…I’m going to punish you.”
With that, he leaned in and started planting playful kisses all over her face.
An Yuanyao was completely caught off guard. Her eyes widened in confusion as she held onto the clothes she had yet to finish folding.
Feeling Liu Changqing’s lips repeatedly pressing against her cheek, she finally snapped out of her daze. But before she could even struggle, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the house.
Then, the door swung open.
“An Auntie, where’s my—”
Liu Xiazhi’s voice trailed off mid-sentence.
She stood frozen in the doorway, staring at the scene before her.
Her father sat on the bed, his lips pressed against An Yuanyao’s cheek, while An Yuanyao looked completely bewildered, still holding the clothes.
Liu Xiazhi’s mouth dropped open.
The next second, as if coming to a sudden realization, she let go of the doorknob and excitedly ran toward the bed.
She kicked off her slippers, climbed onto the bed, and cheerfully declared, “I wanna play too!”
Then, kneeling beside An Yuanyao, she leaned in and kissed the other side of her face.
“……”
“……”
Time seemed to freeze in that moment.
Father and daughter each claimed a side of An Yuanyao’s face, while she sat there in complete confusion, utterly unsure of what was happening.
Liu Changqing finally sat up straight, licking his lips awkwardly. He cleared his throat and, in an attempt to change the subject, asked in a slightly serious tone,
“Xiazhi, what did you want An Auntie to find for you just now?”
Only then did Liu Xiazhi remember her original purpose for coming in.
“Oh! My dress! My favorite one!”
She immediately perked up and glanced around the room, eventually spotting the folded clothes beside An Yuanyao.
An Yuanyao, still somewhat dazed, snapped out of it and rummaged through the pile before pulling out the dress Liu Xiazhi wanted.
Liu Xiazhi eagerly took it from her hands, her face lighting up with excitement. She then jumped off the bed, slipped into her indoor slippers, and dashed toward the door.
But just as she was about to leave, she suddenly paused mid-step.
Standing with her back to the two adults, she hesitated for a moment before slowly turning around. With a puzzled expression, she looked at her father and asked,
“Daddy, can An Auntie sleep with me tonight?”
“No.”
“You stingy meanie!”
She pouted and huffed before storming out of the room. Even though she was mad, she still remembered to close the door behind her.
Bang!
The door shut, and the room fell into silence.
After a brief pause, An Yuanyao lightly smacked Liu Changqing’s thigh as a form of reprimand. Then, in a small voice, she muttered,
“The kid’s home, so be careful. Stop acting like those drama male leads, always pulling surprise attacks…”
As she spoke, her voice gradually softened, trailing off toward the end.
She didn’t actually dislike it…
Even though it sometimes made her a little embarrassed, for some reason… she secretly liked it.
It made her heart feel warm and sweet.
Watching An Yuanyao continue folding clothes, Liu Changqing chuckled. He slipped an arm around her shoulder and leaned in close to her ear.
“I’m not copying some drama male lead. I’m just following my heart…”
With that, he gently bit her earlobe.
Before he could do anything else, the door swung open—again.
“Dad, I—”
Liu Xiazhi rushed in once more.
For the second time, she was met with the sight of her father in the middle of something.
Her eyes widened, and her expression quickly turned to excitement.
“I wanna do that too—”
“Out!”
“Okay!”
Bang!
Liu Xiazhi shut the door and left.
Liu Changqing didn’t say another word. He walked straight to the door, locked it, and grumbled under his breath,
“Do my kids have a personal vendetta against me? Why does this always happen…”
After finishing her nighttime routine, Liu Xiazhi sat on the sofa with her long black hair cascading over her shoulders, hugging a plush toy that An Yuanyao had recently bought for her.
The dart game prize her brother had won for her last time? She didn’t care about that anymore.
Compared to that, she much preferred this plushie from An Yuanyao.
It was better in every way—softer, better made, and more huggable.
She clutched the teddy bear tightly and kept nibbling on its ear as if she was imitating something.
Just then, the front door opened.
Liu Zhiyue stepped in, looking exhausted.
The moment he entered, he spotted his silly little sister acting strangely on the couch.
He didn’t say anything right away. Instead, he changed into his indoor slippers and walked over to get a closer look.
There she was, sitting there like a maniac, chewing relentlessly on the teddy bear’s ear.
After a long moment of silence, Liu Zhiyue finally asked,
“Have you been watching too many zombie movies?”
“It’s a new game! Daddy taught me!”
Liu Xiazhi released the teddy bear’s ear and declared this with absolute confidence.
Before Liu Zhiyue could respond, their father’s voice rang out from the kitchen.
“Don’t listen to her nonsense. I never told her it was a game. Also… stop letting your sister chew on that plushie. The fur on its ears is about to come off.”
“……”
Following their father’s orders, Liu Zhiyue didn’t say much. He simply walked over, grabbed the teddy bear from his sister’s hands, and carried it toward her room—completely ignoring her protests.
Liu Xiazhi yelped in outrage and jumped off the sofa, chasing after him.
Liu Zhiyue opened her bedroom door, tossed the plushie onto her bed, and watched as she ran in after it.
Then, without another word, he shut the door and headed toward the kitchen.
“Dad, I’m hungry.”
Unlike his usual gentle tone, this time, Liu Zhiyue seemed a bit more indifferent when dealing with his sister.
