Marvel : I'm in Westview Town-Chapter 122
Chapter 122 - 122
At the same time.
Kamar-Taj, the ancient sanctuary of sorcerers, stood amidst the Himalayan peaks, shrouded in an air of mysticism and secrecy.
Several individuals remained engrossed in a heated discussion regarding the turmoil plaguing the multiverse.
"Doesn't Kamar-Taj possess magic that can directly trace the location of our target?" Wanda questioned, her gaze locking onto Doctor Strange.
Given the vast repository of knowledge Kamar-Taj had accumulated over centuries, it was hard to believe they lacked such a capability.
"It's not that it doesn't exist, but tracking Kang the Conqueror is simply impossible. Magic has its limitations," Strange replied, shaking his head with an expression of deep concern.
They had attempted every spell they knew to pinpoint Kang's whereabouts, but all had failed.
"So you have no solution at all?" the Dark Witch inquired, narrowing her eyes.
"No, there is only so much information available about Kang the Conqueror, and we haven't been able to uncover more," Wong interjected, standing with arms crossed. Their resources had been stretched thin. The situation had reached a standstill, forcing them to rely on others—particularly Finn and his companions.
Finn had proven himself useful before, and Wong hoped he could do so again.
"Finn, what do you think?" Wanda turned toward him, her voice tinged with expectation. She had a feeling that if anyone could devise a plan, it was him.
The others also looked at Finn, anticipating his insight.
Finn sighed. "To be honest, I don't have a solid plan yet. As Strange said, Kang's hiding place is unknown, and Kamar-Taj's magic has been ineffective."
His words were blunt but true. There was no point in sugarcoating the gravity of the situation.
Their discussion continued well into the evening, but without any new leads, the conversation slowly tapered off.
"Let's take a break for now. We still need to eat," Finn said, stretching his arms. "Or do you expect us to fight on empty stomachs?"
"I completely forgot about that," Strange admitted, rubbing the back of his head. "I'll have the apprentices bring food."
Despite being sorcerers, they were still human and required sustenance.
Under Strange's hospitality, they were soon gathered around a table filled with a feast, the aroma wafting through the halls of Kamar-Taj.
"I have to admit," the Dark Witch mused, surveying the spread, "your food is surprisingly decent for a place that looks like it's stuck in the past."
"I'm actually curious," Wanda added, taking a bite. "Do you guys go to town to buy ingredients?"
Strange smirked. "We do. The food is carefully selected and stored with enchantments to preserve freshness. Kamar-Taj may be ancient, but we're not entirely disconnected from modern conveniences."
Wanda nodded, seemingly satisfied with the answer.
"Since we need to stay here for now, we might as well spend the night. What do you two think?" Finn asked, glancing at the two witches.
"Fine by us," they responded in unison, nodding.
Wherever Finn stayed, they would stay as well.
Strange and Wong exchanged knowing glances before Wong said, "I'll have rooms prepared for you."
Their confidence in Finn was evident. If anyone could handle Kang, it was him, though at the moment, they were still in a period of uncertainty, waiting for new developments.
"Strange, make sure it's a big room," Wanda suddenly added, fixing him with a serious expression.
"Wait, what?" Strange blinked. "Aren't you two always at odds?"
He was referring to Wanda and the Dark Witch, his gaze then shifting to Finn, suspicion evident in his eyes.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Finn asked, exasperated.
Strange scrutinized him as if trying to unravel some mystery, but Finn ultimately had no choice but to clarify the situation.
After a brief explanation, Strange and Wong exchanged amused looks.
"Well," Strange said, "considering the Dark Witch's universe is in ruins, she doesn't have anywhere else to go. Staying here makes sense."
"Strange is right," Wong agreed.
With the arrangements finalized, Strange fell into deep thought as he watched Finn.
Something about all this didn't sit right with him, but now wasn't the time to voice his concerns.
"We'll wait and see," he mused silently.
The dinner soon concluded, and as per their assigned quarters, Finn and his companions followed Wong to their accommodations.
As Finn and the witches disappeared into their room, Strange stood still, a contemplative expression on his face.
"It's starting," he muttered under his breath.
Inside their quarters, Wong chuckled. "You three have a good night. Try not to wear yourselves out."
Finn rolled his eyes. "Very funny."
Ignoring Wong's teasing, he led the two witches inside, closing the door behind them.
"Alright, let's get some rest," Finn said, shedding his coat.
With a flick of his wrist, their garments shifted to more comfortable attire, enchanted for relaxation.
Finn settled onto the bed, Wanda beside him. The Dark Witch, lying on a separate bed, watched them in silence. A flicker of envy passed through her eyes, but she said nothing, closing her eyes to rest.
As Finn held Wanda close, his mind churned with thoughts of the multiverse's impending chaos. Kang the Conqueror's ambitions remained unclear, but one thing was certain—the coming storm would test them all.
And Finn intended to be ready.
Night.
Kamar-Taj had fallen into complete silence, with only the occasional flicker of candlelight casting shadows on the walls. The night had settled in, and the sky was painted in deep, endless shades of indigo, scattered with the shimmer of countless stars. The moon hung low, casting a silver glow over the ancient sanctum, giving it an almost ethereal beauty.
A soft breeze rustled through the trees, the creaking of branches the only sound breaking the stillness. The air was crisp and carried the scent of aged parchment and incense, remnants of the lingering magic practiced within the sanctum's walls.
Then, a disturbance.
Finn stirred, his senses heightened. Something was wrong. His eyes snapped open, his body reacting before his mind fully processed the anomaly. The Dark Witch beside him also woke, her sharp instincts sensing the shift in energy.
"What is it?" Wanda asked, her voice hushed but laced with concern.
Finn didn't hesitate. "Stay here. I'll check it out."
"Like hell you will. I'm coming with you," the Dark Witch said firmly, moving swiftly to follow him.
Finn pushed open the door and stepped into the moonlit corridor. His eyes darted left and right before he spotted a shadow moving at an unnatural speed in the distance. Without hesitation, he took off, his body becoming a blur of dark energy as he pursued.
"Got you," he muttered as he materialized in front of the figure, cutting off their escape.
Under the pale moonlight, the figure's face became clear.
"Stephen?" Finn's brows furrowed. "What the hell are you doing sneaking around?"
Doctor Strange exhaled, his face serious. "I wasn't sneaking around. I was watching over you. You've been marked by Nightmare."
Finn stiffened. "Nightmare? The entity?"
Stephen nodded. "I noticed something was off earlier, but I needed to be sure. There's a presence clinging to you, watching through you. If we don't act fast, you might be the doorway he needs."
Just then, a pulse of energy surged from behind them, a sickly green light emanating from Finn's quarters.
"Damn it!" Finn cursed, vanishing into a shadowy blur as he rushed back.
The moment he reentered the room, he saw them—black-robed figures standing over Wanda, their hands glowing with ominous energy. They had emerged from swirling portals, their intention clear.
"Finally," one of them sneered. "Scarlet Witch is ours. Sacrificing her will bring Nightmare great power."
"Cut the chatter. Take her before Strange gets here," another snapped.
A blast of crimson energy erupted, sending one of the robed figures flying into the wall with a sickening crunch.
"You think you're taking me?" Wanda's voice was filled with venom, her eyes glowing red as she rose, her aura crackling with chaos magic.
Finn landed between her and the remaining figures, his dark energy swirling around him menacingly. "You picked the wrong damn night."
"Kill them all!" the lead figure commanded.
In an instant, golden portals flickered open around the room, more robed figures stepping through. The sanctum trembled as their magic warped the very air.
"What the hell is going on?!" Wong's voice cut through the chaos as he arrived, his Sling Ring still glowing from his sudden entrance.
"Apostles of Nightmare," Stephen said grimly as he appeared beside him. "They're after Wanda."
Wong clenched his jaw. "Not on my watch."
The battle erupted.

Scarlet Witch hurled a wave of raw chaos magic, vaporizing three attackers instantly. Finn moved like a specter, weaving through the battle, his strikes lethal and precise. Every touch of his dark energy left his enemies screaming in agony as they disintegrated.
Doctor Strange conjured sigils of fire, blasting back multiple adversaries with calculated precision. Wong, ever the battle-hardened sorcerer, summoned shields and countered attacks with expert finesse.
But the apostles were relentless.
More vortexes opened, and waves of enemies flooded in. The entire sanctum trembled under the weight of the invasion. Kamar-Taj had become a battlefield of flashing spells and roaring energy.
"You don't understand!" one of the apostles sneered through gritted teeth as he clashed with Finn. "Your efforts are futile! Nightmare will claim her!"
Finn's fist ignited with black flames as he struck the apostle, sending him sprawling. "Tell Nightmare he can come get her himself."
"You think he won't?!" The apostle grinned through bloodied teeth. "This is just the beginning."
