Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 148: Bad news
Chapter 148: Bad news
Damon’s POV
Suddenly, while talking, Theron glanced back, so I did too. Silas was sitting straight without resting his head on anything, his eyes closed. It looked like he could wake up at any moment.
"Kael, we’ll continue this after returning to the mansion," Theron said, ending the conversation there.
In the end, Silas didn’t wake up—he was just moving in his sleep. Who sleeps like that, sitting up with their eyes closed?
Just then, my phone rang. I took it out of my pocket—only 20% battery left. It was my assistant calling, so I answered.
(Assistant): Boss, when are you coming back? Something bad and big has happened.
(Damon): What happened?
(Assistant): Young Master Orion has been missing for the past two days.
Hearing that, my eyes widened in shock. How did Orion go missing?
(Damon): WHAT? How did he go missing? Wasn’t he at the mansion the whole time?
(Assistant): He was, but he suddenly disappeared. When we checked the CCTV footage, it was all deleted—some kind of virus. I tried calling you yesterday too, but your phone was off.
(Damon): Are you seriously telling me that Orion went missing from his own house? Is this some kind of joke to you? What were all of you doing? Why did I hire you—to slack off? I’m giving you eight hours to find Orion, no matter what!
I hung up angrily and slipped my phone back into my pocket, realizing that everyone was staring at me. Just then, I heard a voice from behind.
"What happened to Orion? Is he went missing?" Silas asked.
"Yeah, I just got the news that he went missing from our own house."
Everyone was shocked, but the most worried and shaken was Silas. I couldn’t understand why he seemed so affected.
"If something happens to Orion, you know, i won’t forgive any of you" Silas said, his worry evident.
"Don’t worry, we’ll find him as soon as possible." I tried to reassure him.
We were all deeply concerned. Orion wasn’t the type to leave the house on his own—he hadn’t stepped out alone in the past 18 years.
He only went out with us or our parents. Then did someone kidnap him? Or did he leave the house and something happened? I just hoped my worst fears weren’t true and that he was safe.
"Damon, how can you sit there calmly? Do something!" Silas shout from behind
"Silas, do you want me to jump out of the jet? Can’t you see we’re in the middle of the air? What can I do here?"
Silas was panicking, and I didn’t know how to comfort him. He went back to his seat, and Shine gently patted his head, trying to calm him down. But Silas kept asking about Orion, over and over. I didn’t even know Silas knew Orion.
"There, there, Silas. Don’t worry too much. You’re literally shaking right now." Shine comfort him
To be honest, we were all worried about Orion, but we couldn’t show it openly right now. We had to wait until we reached our pack to take proper action. Eventually, everyone fell silent. Even the kid had fallen asleep, and Lysander too.
Time felt like it was dragging. Every minute seemed like an hour, like we had been waiting for ages.
Finally, after an hour Kael broke the silence.
"Wait, I’ll call my subordinates to check the CCTV again. If it’s really infected with a virus, they can try recovering the footage. Even if it’s tough, I’ll personally investigate it when we return. I need to find out who dared to kidnap Orion."
I appreciated how gentle Kael was with Orion, how much he cared for him. He seemed like a true gentleman. But when it came to Silas, his behavior was the exact opposite—so confusing.
Everyone’s mood was gloomy. No one spoke, and even the kid, sensing the tension, remained quiet. After a grueling eight-hour flight, we finally landed at the Bloodfang pack.
As soon as we arrived, Kael rushed out to check the CCTV himself since his subordinates couldn’t retrieve the footage.
We were all worried about Orion. What if something terrible had happened to him? It had already been two whole days. What kind of hell could Orion have gone through in that time? Could it be the work of our enemy pack?
I had already messaged my entire team to start searching for Orion.
After watching Kael leave, I stood up and glanced at Silas. He looked devastated, like his entire world had shattered. I couldn’t understand why he was so deeply affected by Orion’s disappearance.
As we stepped out, the kid ran over to Silas, and Silas took his hand, walking away with his manager without even glancing back at us.
Didn’t he care about his own reputation? What if someone took a picture of him with a child as soon as we stepped out of the airport?
I was getting really worried, so I called Shine over to talk to him. When I called him, Silas and the little kid stayed where they were, waiting for Shine, who quickly came to me.
"Yes, Mr. Damon?" Shine responded.
"Shine, be careful. You know how important an artist’s image is. Silas is currently with a child, and that child’s parents are no longer in this world. So, make sure you hold the child—don’t let Silas do it, okay? At least until you reach your apartment."
As I was advising Shine, Silas suddenly approached us—where Lysander, Theron, and I were standing.
"Damon, did you find anything about Orion? He’s safe, right?" Silas asked in a worried voice.
I took a step toward him. "Silas, don’t worry. He’s fine."
"What do you mean by fine? He got kidnapped—two days ago! How can you be so sure he’s fine? Did you get any news about him? If not, then hurry up and find him!"
In the end, Lysander stepped forward and gently held Silas’s hand to calm him down because he was clearly panicking.
