Chapter 183: giving lift to ciel

Silas’s POV

Like hell I would believe him. Of course, he’s lying. But what are his intentions? While I was thinking, Shine suddenly pulled me back and stood in front of Ciel.

Man, Shine is an omega, but if someone looks at him from far away, they’d think he’s an alpha. ’Cause he has such a big body. It’s not like I’m judging.

But when he pulled me back, it kind of hurt my hand.

"What do you want now from Silas?"

Shine started questioning Ciel while glaring at him.

And Ciel looked confused about why Shine was staring at him.

"I don’t want anything from anyone. I just wanted a lift since my car broke down."

"And do you think I would believe that? This must be your new plan to trap Silas, right? Why are you so shameless—to go to any lengths just to bring Silas’s downfall?"

"Hey, why would I give you an answer? You’re just a manager, so step aside and let me talk to Silas."

Ciel was getting frustrated since Shine wasn’t even moving.

"And why would I let you talk to Silas? Who knows what your intentions are?"

Shine stated while crossing his arms over his chest.

And just then, I noticed... Because of us, there was a huge traffic jam here. We had stopped the car right in the middle of the road, and behind us were tons of cars.

People were shouting from behind. Without wasting a minute, I got into the car and called out Shine’s name.

"Shine, don’t waste your breath. Just come inside."

As I said that, he turned and came toward the car—but that Ciel, he’s really something.

’Cause he was also coming behind Shine like I had called him too.

Shine sat inside, and just as Atlas was about to start the car, Ciel came up to my side and peeked through the window.

"Silas, I really need a lift right now. Please help me... We’re brothers at the end of the day, so please—just this once, help me."

"No, don’t help him. Who knows what his motives are? We can’t trust someone who’s tried to slander you again and again."

Well, Shine was right. We really can’t trust Ciel at all. But since he’s not ready to leave me alone, then why not play along with his game and see what he’s planning this time?

"Ciel, come inside. I’ll give you a lift."

His eyes lit up as he heard that, like he was really happy, and he sat in the passenger seat beside Atlas.

And once he got in and Atlas started to drive, no one said anything.

Not even me. ’Cause it was obvious—we didn’t want to talk with Ciel there. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

And he was sitting there silently too, curled up in his seat, glancing outside. It’s not like I don’t hate Ciel anymore—of course I do.

But today something felt different. Ciel usually doesn’t behave like this. Today, he was acting out of character. Which was suspicious.

"What happened, Ciel? You’re not looking good," I asked.

"Huh?... Nothing happened."

"Mhm." Well, I did try asking, but since he didn’t want to say anything, then fine.

Just then, my phone rang. When I heard it, I thought it was Orian. Maybe something happened at home? That’s why he was calling. But when I checked—it was Theron.

I answered the call after glancing at Ciel.

(Silas) "Yes."

(Theron) "Shorty, where are you right now?"

(Silas) "Look, I’m grateful for what you did for me. That’s why I’m not opening my mouth to say anything to you."

(Theron) "Ohh, Shorty is actually thinking about me... Oh my God, is the world gonna end or something?"

(Silas) "I’ll hang up, Piggy, if you’ve got nothing to say."

(Theron) "Yes, that’s what I wanted to hear. Take care of yourself, Shorty. Bye."

And just like that, he hung up. Why did he even bother calling if he didn’t have anything important to say? And who’s he calling Shorty? I’m such a tall person.

He’s the one who’s Piggy—big and fat. But still, my mood brightened a bit after talking to him.

When I glanced at Shine, he was looking out the window, and Ciel too. Atlas was focused on driving.

I also started staring out the window while my lips were still smiling.

And in five minutes...

"Stop the car here. My house has arrived," Ciel said.

Me and Shine both glanced out at the same time as Ciel got out—’cause we wanted to see what Ciel’s house looked like. And it was a bungalow.

Wow. I guess he’s making enough money to live in a place like that. Or maybe Dad gave him money. I can’t say anything.

And before going inside, Ciel suddenly turned around—’cause our car was still there—and he waved his hand at us as a goodbye.

Atlas started to drive the car again.

"What the hell was that cringe behavior from Ciel?" Shine said.

"Yes, and he was sitting beside me. That was even creepier," Atlas added.

And I didn’t want to pass any comments, so I just remained silent.

After that, the car only stopped at my apartment. As soon as we got there, I got out of the car. And since Shine and Atlas didn’t have anything else to do, they were obviously going to come inside with me.

After parking the car, we were about to get into the elevator when we heard a loud car honk behind us. I glanced back—and it was Theron’s car standing there.

I stopped as soon as I saw it. And when Shine and Atlas saw me stop, they stopped too.

"What happened, Silas? Why did you stop?"

While Shine was asking, Theron stepped out of the car—so they must have figured out why I stopped.

There was a smile on Theron’s face, and seeing him, I couldn’t hold back my own smile—I ended up smiling too. He walked toward me.

"Silas, can we talk now? You said we’d talk later."

After what happened that night, he wanted to talk about it, but I dodged it by saying we’d talk later. But I guess it’s time to talk.
