Chapter 707: Help Queen Maeve

"You have a visitor, my Queen,"

Queen Maeve turned to her handmaiden. It annoyed her greatly that she was no longer referred to with the title of "Fae Queen" but there was no nothing she could do. However, she could only hope that her loyal followers would pressure her husband to reinstate her soon enough.

This was not the first time Queen Maeve had had a falling out with King Oberon, but this was the first time he was punishing her harshly and held it against her thus long. It was beginning to make her uncomfortable.

What if he doesn’t cave in and make her other co-wife Fae Queen? Of all the wives, Queen Maeve knew the most likely to be crowned Fae Queen would be Queen Nirvana. No, that would not happen.

"Who is it?" She asked, irritably.

"Queen Nirvana."

At the mention of that name, Queen Maeve’s hands balled into a fist, her body trembling with anger. That bitch.

Her handmaiden swallowed, clearly uncomfortable with the thick tension in the room. Having read the mood in the room, she said nervously, "I should probably send her away."

The handmaiden turned to go only for Queen Maeve to say, "Wait!"

She halted at once.

Lifting her hand high, Queen Maeve said, "Let her in."

"Eeh?" She was dumbfounded.

"You heard me right, let Queen Nirvana in." She ordered.

"O-okay," She stammered and left at once.

Once she was alone, Queen Maeve straightened in her seat, composed herself and looked totally in control. She had planned to send Nirvana but sometimes it was good to keep your enemies close. She needed to know Nirvana’s intention even if it pissed her to be in close quarters with the bitch.

Not long, a thick perfume infiltrated her nostrils and Queen Nirvana appeared seconds later, carrying herself with such grace and reality. Queen Maeve schooled her expression, trying hard not to show her rage.

"Queen Maeve," Nirvana said thickly, "Thanks for seeing me." She smiled so sweetly, any naive Fae would have fallen for it.

Maeve was not naive. She responded with the same cunningly intelligence, "How could I refuse my co-wife’s visit? You’re the senior, I couldn’t possibly refuse when my elder knocked on the door."

Queen Nirvana laughed, taking the seat beside Queen Maeve without being told to. Maeve’s brows furrowed slightly from the obviously disrespectful move, yet she couldn’t show it and kept up with the facade. She couldn’t show that Queen Nirvana’s action got to her.

"You’re right! Absolutely right," Queen Nirvana said, "The past weeks haven’t been kind to you and in times like this, it’s required that we are here for each other." She squeezed her hand.

Queen Maeve quietly let out a shuddering breath. Queen Nirvana was quite a sly snake, poking at her fresh wound with a smile on her face.

"Your majesty." The handmaiden returned, disrupting the tense silence that fell in place as soon as the pleasantries were over.

"Have tea sent for the both of us," She commanded.

"Not for both of us." Queen Nirvana suddenly said.

"What?"

Nirvana smiled sweetly, "My apologies I didn’t inform you on time, but as the senior wife, I took the time to invite Queen Victoria. You are not mad, right? After all, our co-wife Victoria is the most loved."

Queen Maeve was rendered speechless. The audacity of this bitch. However, she put up with it, saying politely, "Of course! Queen Victoria is most welcome. I too enjoy her company." She chuckled in the end, even though she was mentally cursing Nirvana.

"Good!" Queen Nirvana clapped her hand gleefully, "This would be such a wonderful conversation! After all, It’s been a while since we have gathered together like this. I bet you that this will be fun."

Queen Maeve instructed the handmaiden, "Make tea for three. Although I wonder if Queen Victoria’s tea wouldn’t go cold by the time she arrived ..."

Queen Maeve was still speaking when Queen Victoria in question stepped into the room.

"Greetings Queen Maeve, Queen Nirvana. What a pleasant surprise to be invited to this unexpected gathering," She said, putting on the warmest smile even though she was confused as hell as to what was going on.

"Unexpected gathering indeed," Queen Maeve acquiesced sarcastically.

The handmaiden walked away to arrange the tea as soon as possible.

"I’m sorry for such abrupt notice, after all, we are busy Queens, however, desperate times like this call for desperate measures and it’s up to us to solve this issue." She said, just as Queen Victoria took her seat.

"And what problem are we talking about here exactly, Queen Nirvana?" Queen Maeve went straight to the point .

"The death duel." She said,

The air grew thick with tension. Maeve’s gaze bore into Nirvana, while Victoria, caught in the middle, squirmed uncomfortably. The gods knew that she hated it when they did this to her. Here they go again. The cycle never ends.

"I come with good intentions, Queen Maeve," Nirvana claimed, her expression unreadable

"Really?" Maeve obviously did not believe her. "You come with good intentions when you will obviously be the most interested when My son Valerie is thrown out of the picture. Who do you think would benefit most?"

Nirvana didn’t flinch. "Of course, me. You don’t have another son."

Maeve’s eyes blazed with fury. "You dare come into my quarters and insult me to my face?"

"The gods help me." Queen Victoria rubbed the spot between her brows, her head already throbbing with the sign of a headache.

She had enjoyed the past few days without these females in her life. But obviously they were a parasitic bunch, seeing they took delight in getting her involved and making her life miserable as well.

Nirvana leaned forward, her voice softening. "I didn’t come to insult you, Queen Maeve. I came to offer a solution."

Maeve’s anger cooled just enough to make her curious. She raised an eyebrow, her voice cautious. "What do you mean by that?"
