Mated To The Cruel Prince-Chapter 846: Aldric Knew The Truth
Chapter 846: Aldric Knew The Truth
Queen Maeve should have scrambled off Ramirez the instant she felt the presence in the room, but the timing couldn’t have been worse. She was already in the throes of her climax, the pleasure overwhelming her senses, and her body wouldn’t stop.
The scream that erupted from her lips was a confusing mix of pleasure and terror— terror because someone had just witnessed her in the most intimate of moments, with someone who was not her husband, Oberon, the King of Astaria.
She didn’t have time to ride out the final bliss of pleasure as reality crashed down around her. Maeve frantically pushed herself off Ramirez, barely catching herself as she stumbled out of bed
Fury surged through her at first, thinking it was one of her foolish servants who had entered without permission. It had to be one of the servants. Who else would dare enter her chambers unannounced?
But then, she raised her head.
And froze.
"P—Prince Aldric?" Her voice trembled with both shock and dread.
Queen Maeve’s heart stopped for a moment, her body paralyzed with the realization of who had walked in on her most private sin.
By the gods, no.
"Fuck!" Queen Maeve let out a strangled scream as she scrambled to find her discarded clothes. But of course, they were strewn across the other room, where her and Ramirez’s frantic passion had begun. Instead, she grabbed the robe she had tossed aside earlier and wrapped it tightly around her body. The last thing she needed was for her naked body to be on full display to her stepson. Her humiliation already burned in her veins.
Ramirez, on the other hand, was just as horrified. His eyes widened to the size of the moon the moment he realized it was Aldric—Prince Aldric—standing in the room.
If it had been Valerie, Maeve’s son, perhaps they would have had a better chance of dealing with the situation. Queen Maeve would have been able to calm him down or smooth things over. But Aldric? Ramirez knew in that moment that he was a dead Fae walking.
Without even bothering to cover his own nakedness, Ramirez made a desperate dash for the nearest window, hoping to escape. But Aldric’s shadows were quicker. They shot out from his body, black tendrils flattening against the window, sealing it shut with an impenetrable force. There was no way out.
Ramirez skidded to a halt, cursing under his breath as he looked frantically around the room for another exit. But it was no use, Aldric’s shadows covered every possible escape route.
Desperation clawed at him. He summoned his fire magic in a last-ditch effort, hurling flames at Aldric in the hope that he could overpower the prince long enough to flee.
The flames never reached Aldric. His shadows surged forward, swallowing the fire whole, snuffing it out as if it had never existed.
Then, without Ramirez noticing, a tendril of shadow crept between his legs and wrapped around him, yanking him off his feet. He hit the ground with a painful thud, a grunt escaping his lips as the breath was knocked from his lungs.
Queen Maeve, her heart pounding with fear, couldn’t take it anymore.
"What the hell is wrong with you, Aldric?" she shouted with anger and fear knowing Aldric was toying with them.
But Aldric wasn’t moved by her outburst. Instead, he gave her a long, unsettling look, his dark eyes gleaming with something sinister. The sneer on his lips told her that he found her anger amusing, considering what he had just walked in on.
Maeve’s blood boiled, but before she could speak again, Aldric sauntered forward, using his shadows to roughly yank Ramirez onto his back, exposing him in all his naked glory. Aldric let out a mocking whistle, his eyes shamelessly roving over Ramirez’s body, lingering on his most private parts.
"Well, now I understand why you’d cheat on Oberon," Aldric drawled, his voice dripping with sarcastic admiration. "Who could resist that?"
Ramirez flushed in embarrassment, with Queen Maeve’s cheek also burning with shame. Aldric was taunting her, poking at her pride, and she wanted to lash out at Aldric, to make him stop, but she knew her hands were tied in this situation. Aldric had the upper hand here.
Aldric continued, rolling his eyes theatrically. "No offense, of course. I mean, Oberon has four wives—well, two now with you excluded. So why shouldn’t you enjoy a little variety too? Isn’t that how it goes, Fae Queen Maeve?" fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Maeve clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. For a brief, wild moment, she considered striking him, summoning her own magic to show him that he wasn’t the only one who could wield power. But she knew better than to engage in a direct confrontation with Aldric, especially in such a compromising situation.
"What do you want?" she demanded with a cold tone.
Aldric grinned, clearly enjoying himself. His amusement was obvious, but there was something darker underneath. Maeve didn’t like it. She had faced countless political enemies and adversaries over the years, but Aldric was different. She didn’t know what he was after, and that scared her. And something told her exposing her infidelity was the least of it.
"What do I want?" Aldric echoed, his voice filled with mock contemplation. He stepped to the side, and only then did Maeve notice the figure kneeling behind him, head bowed.
A frown creased her brow. Who was this person? Why had Aldric brought him into her chambers?
Aldric’s voice took on a twisted excitement as he spoke again. "I want you to meet someone. I believe the two of you were once acquainted."
The man slowly lifted his head, and though his face was familiar, Maeve couldn’t immediately place where she had seen him before.
It wasn’t until a sharp gasp escaped Ramirez’s lips that Maeve realized something was terribly wrong.
"Asher?" Ramirez’s voice was filled with disbelief and dread.
The Fae named Asher looked up at Ramirez, recognition dawning on his face as well. "Ramirez?
Aldric’s twisted grin grew even wider. "Ah, so you know each other. How delightful."
Queen Maeve felt uneasy, trying to make sense of what was happening. She didn’t fully understand the connection between Ramirez and Asher, but one thing was becoming clear: Aldric knew something. Something dangerous.
Asher quickly explained, "We were on the mission together. He was one of my crew members... until he turned on me."
"Crew member?" Maeve muttered under her breath, her mind whirling as she connected the dots.
Her gaze shot up to meet Aldric’s, and the chilling smile on his face told her everything she needed to know.
By the gods. Aldric had found out the truth.
