Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 303: Slapped to Reality
Chapter 303: Slapped to Reality
Cain had just passed the vial back to Uva, who had an even more severe expression on her face when Violet could no longer keep her mouth shut, especially when it became clear that something was going on that she had no idea about. freёwebnoѵel.com
"What’s wrong? What does it smell like?" she asked, her brows knotted together as she looked from Uva to Cain and back to Uva, who had already begun to cast another spell under her breath, her eyes lit up again in a way that made it clear that it had something to do with analyzing the vial.
"Cain..." Violet whispered, wanting a response, especially after seeing the worried look deep in his eyes as he kept his gaze on the vial of blood that had been drawn from him.
"It smelled strange!" he said with a great knit of his brows as he raised his fingers to massage his forehead again in a way that showed that whatever pain he felt there was back with even greater intensity.
"Very strange..." he added. "It would be better to wait for Uva to finish and tell us the conclusion!" Cain said, but even then, the edge in his tone when he said it was enough to worry her as she mentally urged Uva to hasten her experiment, even if she couldn’t hear her.
Uva, on the other hand, was completely lost with an intense expression on her face as she stood in the center of the main living area, with the vial in one hand and her other hand hovering over it.
Her eyes lit up a bright, eerie purplish color that seemed to penetrate everything, even as she continued to mumble words that looked extremely strange under her breath.
This went on for quite a long time, and Violet’s patience was wearing thin. At a point, even Cain, who had previously been calm, also seemed to have lost whatever patience he had been tightly holding on to.
Until Uva finally stopped muttering under her breath and lowered her gaze, her eye color returning to her usual purple but a much duller one.
Violet had just been about to instantly throw a dozen questions she had to ask her right in her direction when she noticed the way Uva’s legs shook enough to show that she was about to hit the floor.
Violet dashed to grab a chair and push it under her before she fell to the ground, which would be disastrous since Violet wasn’t sure her curiosity could wait long enough for her to wake up.
Quickly, she handed her a bit of water too, but by then, even Cain could no longer wait for her to speak by herself.
"What was the result?" he asked her, the authoritative and domineering tone he used when speaking to everyone else still there as he stood with his hands folded around his chest.
Uva nodded her head the next second to show that she understood the urgency of it, just as she drank a couple more gulps of water before she began to speak.
"I deactivated my skin mask just to be able to do it. I can no longer use magic for a while. Not without time to store it!" Uva began, lowering her head to show respect, but at that moment, she didn’t give a damn if she was killed since she was clearly heading to her grave.
’Who would have thought that I, Uva, would get to such a state that I would not even be able to have any bit of magic stored inside of me,’ she thought to herself, anger boiling within her, realizing that since she arrived, she hadn’t had a single moment of peace.
But she had just spoken when her words were ignored so badly that it was almost like she hadn’t even opened her mouth to speak.
"What did you see?" Cain asked her, his gaze fixed on her in such a way that she knew that the guy was just a few moments away from descending on her.
At that point, there was no use avoiding the results she had been hoping to hide for longer as she instantly began to speak.
"From what I could see from the preliminary test I did... there are better ones that could show much faster results..." she explained, only to lower her head back as she sat in her chair after raising it to see that neither Violet nor Cain, who stared intensely at her, were impressed to hear everything except what they wanted to hear.
Finally, she spoke, allowing the words she needed to say to come out of her mouth, no matter how shocked she had been to find it out.
"The blood I took from Lord Cain shows that his blood contains not only that of a werewolf but also that of a vampire!"
"Worse... the blood of the Red seems to be spreading, almost like it’s trying to take over his body!"
"If I’m to guess... I’ll say that the solution that was given to us to turn him back to his human self was a concentrated version of a Red’s blood. Probably a Lord!"
The more Uva spoke, the more the shock on their faces grew as Violet listened to her with complete astonishment on her face.
Cain was also surprised, but he still had a look of calm, almost like what he had previously feared and thought had simply been confirmed.
"I don’t know how it’s possible but-but whatever curse he was cursed with as a child must be truly—" but Violet didn’t let her finish as she raised her hand and slapped Uva right across the face.
Uva was shocked, but at the same time, she didn’t even hesitate to bow her head in thanks as she realized from the smile that had been spreading across her face and the excitement she felt that all she needed to do was mention the word ’phenomenal’ in her excitement, and her head would have rolled, and even Violet herself wouldn’t have been able to spare her life.
"Bad!!! Terrible!" she mumbled under her breath as she continued to sit on the chair, aware that the only reason she hadn’t crumbled to the ground begging for forgiveness was because she was sitting.
