Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today-Chapter 42 - Tastes Good_1
Chapter 42: Chapter 42 Tastes Good_1
Chapter 42 -42 Tastes Good_1
Su Wanxia, worn out from crying, leaned into Mu Yingchen’s arms in silence, but the slight trembling of her shoulders revealed that she was still deeply aggrieved.
Mu Yingchen felt a sigh of relief deep inside when he saw that the person in his arms had finally stopped crying.
He could never stand to see women cry because it annoyed him, yet that didn’t include her. Her tears only made his heart ache.
“Wanwan, you love me, don’t you?” Mu Yingchen asked softly, holding her.
He knew her personality. If she didn’t love him, she wouldn’t have accepted what he said at the banquet, she wouldn’t have come here with him, she wouldn’t have accepted his flowers, and she definitely wouldn’t have cried her heart out in his embrace.
Su Wanxia, as if he had hit the nail on the head, suddenly stopped shaking, lifted her head from his chest, and stubbornly looked at Mu Yingchen. Then, she snorted through her nose and said, “So what if I do? I didn’t agree to be your girlfriend.” When had this man learned to sweet-talk and be romantic, causing her to shed so many tears tonight, how annoying.
Mu Yingchen raised his eyebrows in surprise and calmly said, “Didn’t you agree by default at the banquet? Are you having second thoughts now?”
Hearing him bring up the banquet, Su Wanxia’s beautiful eyes immediately glared at him angrily, “You dare mention that, who allowed you to spout nonsense in front of so many people!”

“Spouting nonsense? Did I? Everything I said was the truth,” Mu Yingchen stated confidently.
He then quickly changed the subject, “Anyway, now everyone knows, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Su Wanxia narrowed her eyes. When did this man become so cunning and insidious?
Seeing Su Wanxia with an expression like she had eaten a bitter pill, Mu Yingchen’s lips curled into a smile, “Alright, didn’t you skip dinner? You must be hungry, right?”
With him bringing it up, Su Wanxia did actually feel her stomach empty. She had stood the whole evening without eating anything, and then she had been dragged here by this man.
But— she looked around at the beautiful scenery and found that she wanted to stay a bit longer.
Mu Yingchen noticed her hesitation and felt a sweet satisfaction inside. He was very happy that she liked this place, but the evening was far from over.
“If you like it, I’ll bring you here for every birthday you have from now on, okay?”
“Ah?” Su Wanxia’s head shot up in shock, her heart filled with irrepressible joy. To spend every birthday with him here would be incredibly satisfying for her.
“Is that okay?” Mu Yingchen asked again.
She nodded her head, her voice sweet as she hummed in agreement, and her heart bloomed with happiness.
Seeing her agreement, Mu Yingchen, smiling broadly, led her away. Su Wanxia paused for a moment, then glanced at the large bunch of blue enchantress flowers.
She looked up at Mu Yingchen, “I want to take it with me.” Although roses were common, it was given by him, so she wanted to bring it home.
“Alright!” Mu Yingchen looked at her indulgently, then bent down to pick up the bouquet.
Given that the bouquet was rather large, the sight of Mu Yingchen holding it was somewhat comical; the expanse of roses almost covered his face. Thankfully, his height gave him the advantage, preventing the scene from becoming too absurd.
Eventually, Su Wanxia couldn’t help but let out a low laugh. Seeing the usually serious CEO holding such an enormous bouquet was simply incongruous, no matter how you looked at it.
Mu Yingchen glanced at her then proceeded to walk her under the bridge, one hand holding the flowers and the other holding her. With his current look, if the executives at his company saw him, their eyes would pop out.
Mu Yingchen took Su Wanxia back to the Chinese restaurant they had visited for the first time. Needless to say, he ordered all her favorite dishes. Then, halfway through, two waiters wheeled in an incredibly large, multi-tiered cake, and every tier bore the words: “Wanwan, I Love You!” instead of “Wanwan, Happy Birthday!”
Su Wanxia felt her eyes sting with emotion again as Mu Yingchen lit the candles one by one, speaking softly, “Make a wish!”
Across the dancing yellow candlelight, she gazed at the exquisitely handsome and noble man opposite her, gently pressed her palms together, and slowly closed her eyes.
A minute later, she opened her eyes, a smile twinkling in her beautiful gaze as she looked at Mu Yingchen, “Let’s blow them out together.”
Mu Yingchen’s lips curved slightly as he leaned forward and, together with Su Wanxia, blew out the candles.
Following that, another waiter brought over an elegant tray, covered by a silver satin cloth.
Su Wanxia watched with curious eyes, wondering what it could be. The surprises Mu Yingchen had presented her tonight were so plentiful that she had slowly become accustomed to this feeling.
Mu Yingchen’s slender fingers gently lifted the satin, and in an instant, Su Wanxia’s eyes lit up, fixating on the object on the tray with shining eyes.
It was a necklace, perfect in its delicate beauty, made of silver-white platinum. The chain itself was exquisitely fine, but what stood out were the shimmering English letters: “Summer”! Each letter was studded with tiny pink diamonds, dazzling and breathtaking. The necklace’s value was obvious at first glance.
Su Wanxia fell for it the moment she saw it and she wasn’t the only one—no girl would likely be able to resist its charm.
“So beautiful!” she exclaimed.
Mu Yingchen looked at her adoringly; as long as she liked it, that was all that mattered.
He gently picked up the necklace, moved behind Su Wanxia, and slowly put it around her delicate neck. “Happy Birthday!” His voice was gorgeously soft, filling Su Wanxia’s heart with an overwhelmingly sweet joy.
Before this, he had pondered a lot. When Su Wanxia suddenly asked for a breakup six years ago, he had been incredulous. He thought she must have had a hidden reason, but despite his lengthy investigations, he couldn’t find a single clue.
So he considered that perhaps she couldn’t handle his stoic nature or perhaps she was tired of chasing after him day and night and chose to leave him.
If that was the case, then this time it was his turn to pursue her. No matter how long it took, he would chase her, pamper her, guard her, love her.
Su Wanxia could never have dreamed that a birthday celebration tonight would resolve the standoff between her and Mu Yingchen, taking their relationship to a much higher level.
As Mu Yingchen drove her home, she dared not speak a word. The sudden change in their relationship left her unsure of what to say, which made her act somewhat coyly reserved.
When the car stopped at the front door of her house, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief, finally home. The atmosphere in the car had been too awkward.
“I’m going to go now,” she murmured lowly as she was about to open the car door; Mu Yingchen suddenly caught her hand and leaned over.
As his handsome face drew closer, Wanxia’s heart started to race and her face flushed uncontrollably.
Mu Yingchen, seeing her shy expression, wickedly curved his lips and then, leaning in, he kissed her slightly parted red lips. His tongue pried her teeth apart and deftly twined with hers.
Wanxia’s body shivered. She had never had any resistance to his kisses, and sure enough, within moments he had her dizzy and gasping for breath.
Mu Yingchen, still not fully satisfied, released her, chuckling low, “Tastes good!”
