Chapter 11 - 11: The End of the Blood Pond Clan

"How dare you, you rude man! How can you ask someone if they're engaged the moment you meet them?" Uzumaki Mito shouted in a delicate yet firm voice.

Updat𝓮d from freewēbnoveℓ.com.

"No, listen to my explanation! I didn't ask if you were engaged to flirt with you—I just wanted to ask if you were engaged..." Su Xiuyu realized that Mito had completely misunderstood his intention. She must have thought he was teasing her about her engagement.

Oh my God, I just wanted to ask my future sister-in-law if she knew Hashirama yet, and now she thinks I'm some kind of lecher.

"Aren't you acting like a scoundrel? Or are you simply asking me if I'm engaged?" Mito's tone was laced with anger, her sharp eyes locked onto him.

Su Xiuyu felt that the more he explained, the worse it sounded, so he decided to get straight to the point.

"No, no, no! Let me rephrase that. What I asked earlier was inappropriate. What I really meant to ask was—do you know Senju Hashirama?"

"The Senju clan is an ally of our Uzumaki clan. Our two clans have been on good terms for generations, so of course, I know about them. As for Senju Hashirama, he's the eldest son of the current Senju clan leader, Senju Butsuma. I've heard of him, but I don't know him personally. His name has been mentioned by the elders in my family."

Mito furrowed her brows slightly, not understanding why Su Xiuyu had suddenly shifted the topic to the Senju clan.

So, they don't know each other yet. Su Xiuyu sighed in relief. Of course, he couldn't just blurt out, You're going to marry Hashirama in the future because of a political alliance. Thinking about how they hadn't even met yet, he felt an odd sense of satisfaction.

"I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to tease you about the engagement. Can you believe me?" Su Xiuyu said sincerely.

Mito narrowed her eyes at him before huffing, "Really? Just remember this—you'd better not say anything like that again!" She raised her small, white fist in a playful yet threatening gesture.

In reality, Uzumaki Mito wasn't angry at all. She had already sensed that Su Xiuyu wasn't lying—he really was just asking about the engagement. But still... Why did he ask about my engagement out of nowhere? Was it...

Her face turned slightly red. This is our first meeting, and this guy is already bringing up engagements? She was still young! Wasn't it too early to be talking about this?

Still, she found it refreshing. He was much more direct than the members of her own clan, who were often timid around her. Mito didn't even realize she had overlooked the fact that she was the princess of the Uzumaki clan—no one in her clan would dare to yell at her like this.

Meanwhile, Su Xiuyu was still wondering why he had run into Mito in such a remote place. Did she sneak out?

He wasn't entirely wrong. While Mito had indeed wandered away, she wasn't completely alone. Guards from the Uzumaki clan were stationed nearby, watching over her. As the princess of the Uzumaki clan, there was no way she would be left unprotected. A subtle sealing barrier was also set up near her feet—if activated, it would immediately summon her guards.

Of course, Su Xiuyu was completely unaware of all this. His current training hadn't yet covered sealing techniques. Right now, he was racking his brain, trying to figure out how to build a good relationship with Uzumaki Mito—only then would he have a chance to learn sealing techniques.

After all, the sealing arts of the Uzumaki clan were the best in the Naruto world. But since they were the foundation of the clan's survival, how could they be easily taught to an outsider?

The biggest issue? In his previous life, he had no experience dealing with girls.

As the conversation stalled, an awkward silence stretched between them. Su Xiuyu scratched his head and, with a shameless grin, said, "Um—how about we meet here next time?"

Mito's face immediately turned red. How can he be so bold, directly asking me to meet again?

She didn't dislike him, but she didn't exactly have a good impression of him yet either. It was just... neutral. Still, out of a girl's modesty, she didn't give him a direct answer.

"I'm... not sure," she muttered.

Su Xiuyu sighed inwardly. I got rejected, huh?

Neither of them realized that their thoughts were completely misaligned, leading to a hilarious misunderstanding.

Seeing no other choice, Su Xiuyu shamelessly said, "Well, I'll come by in the next few days. If you're free, we can meet up. If not, then never mind."

Then, without waiting for a response, he activated his teleportation and disappeared.

A barely audible "Hmm" escaped Mito's lips, but Su Xiuyu had already left.

"Lady Mito, who was that man just now?" one of the two hidden guards asked.

The moment they confirmed Su Xiuyu had left, they had been ready to step in. If Mito hadn't discreetly signaled them to stay back, they would have already restrained him.

"It's fine. He should be from the Senju clan. He just mentioned Senju Hashirama to me," Mito lied without hesitation.

After all, Su Xiuyu had introduced himself by name, and it was obvious he had no direct ties to the Senju. But... he did seem to know Hashirama, or he wouldn't have brought him up.

Hearing this, the guards sighed in relief. The Senju and Uzumaki clans had been allies for generations, so if Mito had been speaking with a Senju, it wasn't a big deal.

The two exchanged glances, silently deciding to report this to the elders. Could it be that our little princess fell for a Senju boy at first sight?

Their princess's face was flushed red... Which girl doesn't have romantic feelings at some point?

Meanwhile, both Su Xiuyu and Uzumaki Mito had no idea how many ridiculous assumptions were being made about them at that moment.

Back at the Uchiha Clan

Su Xiuyu returned to the Uchiha compound. These were the days he and Madara had set aside to take revenge on the Blood Pond clan, and Su Xiuyu wasn't about to miss the chance to go to battle.

"Madara, about the Uchiha cla—"

Madara cut him off immediately. "What do you mean, 'the Uchiha clan'? You're a Uchiha too! Say it properly—our Uchiha clan."

Su Xiuyu rolled his eyes. "Fine. What's the relationship between our Uchiha clan and the Uzumaki clan?"

Madara raised an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden topic shift. "Why the sudden interest in the Uzumaki clan?"

"Well..." Su Xiuyu hesitated. "I ran into a girl from the Uzumaki clan earlier today..."

Before he could finish, Madara smirked and interrupted, "Oh? What, did you fall for her? Need my help?"

Su Xiuyu frowned. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Madara ignored him. "Don't worry, Su Xiuyu! If someone from our Uchiha clan takes a liking to an Uzumaki, they'll definitely give us face! I'll send a formal invitation on behalf of the Uchiha clan, and we'll go visit them together."

Su Xiuyu was speechless.

What the hell is Madara thinking!?

----

"Xiu Yu, are you sure you don't need me to send a formal visiting card under the Uchiha clan's name?" Madara asked again, his tone carrying a hint of hesitation.

"No need. Damn it, Madara, you asked me the same thing several times yesterday! Can you just drop it already?" Su Xiuyu didn't expect Madara to have such a nosy side.

What Su Xiuyu didn't realize was that Madara's insistence wasn't just for formality—he genuinely wanted Su Xiuyu to start a family as soon as possible. In the Warring States Period, it was common for teenagers to die on the battlefield. For example, Madara's father, Uchiha Tajima, was the last surviving member of his generation after his siblings perished. It was a harsh reality of their era. Given that Su Xiuyu was already a teenager, he was more than old enough to start a family, and the Uchiha clan always needed fresh blood.

Su Xiuyu, however, didn't understand Madara's simple yet pragmatic thinking. His mindset was still deeply influenced by his past life, even if he hadn't fully realized it.

"Today, we hunt down the remaining members of the Blood Pond Clan," Madara announced. "I will lead the team, with Izuna as my second-in-command. We will take eighty of our clan's elite to wipe them out. Su Xiuyu, you're coming with us."

Su Xiuyu raised a brow at that.

Madara noticed and explained, "I don't want you getting caught off guard. The Blood Pond Clan might try to pull some tricks on you."

"Now, put on your armor!"

This was Su Xiuyu's first time wearing such heavy battle armor. The fiery red plating was like a blazing flame, perfectly complementing the Uchiha clan's emblem. Struggling with the unfamiliar equipment, he fumbled with the straps until Izuna stepped in, carefully teaching him how to put it on.

Down below, the gathered Uchiha clan members whispered among themselves.

"Isn't that the kid who took care of the corpses on the battlefield a while back?"

"Madara, are you sure about bringing an outsider on a Uchiha revenge mission?" one of them questioned hesitantly. "This is a clan matter. Are we really letting a stranger join us?"

"He's not an outsider. He's part of our Uchiha clan," Madara responded coldly. "No more questions. Xiu Yu, show them your Sharingan."

Su Xiuyu sighed, realizing there was no point in hiding it anymore. He activated his Sharingan, and the moment his blood-red eyes appeared, the entire clan went silent. Three magatama.

The murmuring stopped instantly. A young man possessing three magatama at such an age was proof of extraordinary talent.

"Let's move!" Madara commanded.

---

The Uchiha forces arrived at a quiet village deep in the mountains. It was hard to believe the Blood Pond Clan had been hiding in such an isolated place. Despite extensive scouting, no trace of them had been found—until the Uchiha finally bought intelligence from the Tsuchigumo Clan.

Eighty Uchiha warriors split into four teams and stormed the village.

"The Uchiha! They've come for revenge! RUN!" Panic erupted among the villagers as the first wave of Fire Release techniques engulfed homes in flames. Screams and wails echoed through the night.

"So this is war?" Su Xiuyu muttered under his breath.

This was the first time he had been on a battlefield with the intent to kill. Last time, he had only been trying to save people. Now, he was the executioner. His emotions were complicated.

"Die, Uchiha!"

A boy about his age lunged at him with a kunai.

Su Xiuyu didn't dodge. Instead, he stamped his foot on the ground, triggering a set of buried darts to shoot up. The boy's expression shifted from fury to shock as the projectiles pierced his body. Blood trickled down like rain.

Similar scenes unfolded across the village. War had many justifications and causes, but its methods were always cruel.

With the system's assistance, Su Xiuyu no longer needed to form hand seals for mid- and low-level Earth Release techniques. Only advanced jutsu required seals. He could even use the pulse of the earth to act as a sensor ninja, mapping the battlefield with precision.

Before long, the village was consumed by flames. Since the death of their patriarch, Miya Kido, the Blood Pond Clan had been on its last legs. Now, they faced total extinction.

No matter how fiercely they resisted, they were no match for the Uchiha elite. In the Warring States Period, the Uchiha and Senju were the two most powerful clans, far surpassing the others. Even once-great clans like the Hagoromo had vanished during this era.

Miya Kido had ambition but lacked the strength to back it up. That was the true cause of his clan's downfall.

---

"Please, let my child go!"

A desperate mother clung to the legs of an Uchiha warrior.

"We're just civilians! We don't know any ninjutsu! I'm not asking for my own life, just spare my daughter! She's only two! She won't remember anything! Please! Please, I beg you!"

The woman had kowtowed so many times that her face was covered in blood. But the Uchiha warrior showed no intention of sparing them.

Su Xiuyu felt his chest tighten.

This was war. Not just a battle of strength, but a war on humanity itself. He would rather fight a strong enemy than witness this kind of heartbreaking scene.

"Stop!" he ordered.

The Uchiha warrior looked at him in disbelief.

"Su Xiuyu, do you understand what you're doing?" he demanded. "This is a battlefield, not a place for mercy!"

Madara arrived at the scene.

"Xiu Yu, think carefully. War has its own rules."

The woman, seeing a glimmer of hope, crawled toward Su Xiuyu, gripping his feet as she begged for her child's life.

"Xiu Yu," Madara continued, his voice steady, "even if you let them go, they won't survive in this chaotic world. Without their clan's protection, they'll be dead in days. If not from hunger, then from rogue ninjas or bandits. The woman will suffer a worse fate, and the child will be left for the beasts."

He paused before adding, "At least we ninjas grant them a quick death."

"I won't stop you from making your choice, but you must bear responsibility for it."

The surrounding Uchiha warriors watched in silence, waiting for Su Xiuyu's decision.

Su Xiuyu couldn't look the woman in the eye.

"Stand up," he ordered. "Now."

The woman trembled as she got to her feet, waiting for him to speak her final fate.
