While Shining White was still focused on the lifeless Silver, Sett had absorbed the invisible man’s Tomb Hearts, growing stronger and healing his own injuries.

Sett’s titanium-like body buzzed with energy. His heart, which hadn’t beat rhythmically in ages, beginning its first beats gently. It was at first a gentle lull, but as Sett’s breathing quickened, his heart began to beat a bit more erratically.

A sharp, metallic taste filled his mouth.

Blood?

I have blood in my mouth?

The realization struck him.

His sense of taste had returned.

Ah, my sense of touch heightened enough to return my sense of taste.

Sett wanted to shout right then and there in celebration. Taste was one thing he couldn’t live without.

He sniffed, nose slightly red.

Sett almost. Almost. Cried.

He had thought he would need to become a Tier 3 Tomb Walker before he got his sense of touch back.

Shining White, usually stoic, showed a rare hint of emotion, too—but it was for Silver, not Sett.

As he watched Silver’s lifeless body, he seemed lost in thought for a moment.

Sett’s transformation didn’t stop at taste.

Sett’s physical body’s structural component itself had changed. It was no longer just as strong as Titanium. Now, he was like a walking, humanoid piece of Tungsten, one of the densest and hardest natural metals.

He could be in the midst of a building destroying explosion and walk out unharmed.

His physical body, which used to hold nearly 2 tons of strength, was even stronger now. Sett didn’t even need to check the system to know that he had around 2.2 Tons of physical strength, and his speed shouldn’t be low either.

He couldn’t really bend or hurt a Titanium-dense Tomb Raider with his bare hands, but he could still hurt them to a certain degree with enough focused punches.

Tier 2, Mid, achieved!

Sett’s focus no longer left Shining White, now ready for battle.

My speed should be about 80 kilometers per hour?

He surmised, ignoring the flashing transparent screen and watching Shining White.

This person was still troublesome. He had that smoky scythe that could bypass Sett’s bodily defenses without any trouble, and that alone made him too big a threat to show his back to. Especially when Zainah and Zarah were with him, this person was a big danger.

Finally, Shining White turned to stare at Sett, speechless.

"So you have an Axiom, too," he said, much more wary now. "I should have known. Did you kill Black?"

Sett shrugged. "I wonder."

"Do you think this is a game?" Shining White sneered. "Do you know what kind of hornet’s nest you just kicked?"

"Pray tell."

Zainah and Zarah moved some distance away from the duo, noticing the sparks flying between them. There was a charged energy in the air, the surrounding floor and walls cracking.

The sound attracted pedestrians nearby to poke their heads into the alley but even they scattered away in fear.

The air felt stifling.

A pressure of two titans meeting and roaring without sound.

"This city is full of ghosts right now," Shining White said coldly. "I do not know what your intentions are, but since Lord Burrhen is no longer controlling them, the ghosts will go berserk. And even the noble families in this city will be annihilated, not to mention you and me."

"How strong are these ghosts for even you to be worried?" Sett asked, frowning.

"How strong?" White’s eyes expanded. "HOW STRONG? Do you know how many people will die because of you?"

Sett couldn’t help but laugh at the hypocrisy. "Oi, oi, you can’t be serious. You and your lord were going to transform this city into a land of ghosts, and now I am the bad guy for killing him?"

Shining White chuckled coldly, his lower body slowly transforming into dark smoke.

"Your kind of people always do this, killing noble lords and thinking you are some hot shit savior" he said. "What do the commoners call you, a hero?"

Sett got ready for battle himself, getting into a royal battle stance. "Hero? I would not call myself that."

Shining White’s body began to expand, slowly covering the entire alleyway with smoke. Some commoners who got in his range clutched their own necks, falling on the floor.

Zainah and Zarah had, fortunately, escaped the zone beforehand.

The commoners died one by one inside the some-filled zone.

Axiom of Smoke—Poisonous Smoke.

"I didn’t peg you for the irrational kind," Sett said, feeling the poison trying to corrode his own body. "What’s gotten you so mad, look at you, you are already killing people too."

"People?" Shining White’s voice echoed from all directions of the alley. "These are not people, they are filth. Commoner filth. That is what I hate about people like you, acting all hero-like to save filth from the hands of true humans. Did you think killing Lord Burrhen will be a good thing?"

As he spoke, White had covered the whole 30 meter alley with dark smoke.

Poisonous Smoke.

Sett held his breath, thanking the fact that his body essentially didn’t need oxygen.

What a powerful Axiom!

Shining White continued. "Your actions will cause true calamity in this city. Almost all the nobles will be annihilated. And neither me nor you can stop it anymore."

Sett frowned. Why?

"There is a sacred Tier 4 ghost in this city—this place will become a wasteland. That thing’s a feeding ground. And when the Pharaoh releases his wrath, all of the people involved will be executed."

Sett’s face hardened. "A Tier 4 Ghost?"

The poison wasn’t affecting him too much. After all—Sett was mostly still a mummy. But the words finally made Sett realize a blunder in his plans.

When Sett had killed Lord Burrhen, he had placed all his bets on the fact that he would grow strong enough to fight everyone in this city.

With his Axiom back, even if only Tier 1 level, he was not an easy opponent for people like Shining White anymore.

He had the confidence to leave this place alive with his girls.

But now, with that ghost here—things were different.

To that Ghost, Sett might as well be an ant. Tier 4 beings, even if they were just Tomb Raiders, were terrifying forces.

Human-looking calamities.

"Tier 4 is indeed out of my expectations," Sett said, walking gloomily out of the alleyway.

He was not a fool, he was not going to fight Shining White in his own field. Smoke was making it hard to see.

"HUH?"

Seeing that Sett was still completely nonchalant about possible deaths, Shining White’s tone became utterly cold.

Sett was not worried about possible deaths he might cause, but the battle prowess of the ghosts.

He was only worried about his own interests.

He was a callous murderer.

HOW. DARE. HE!

Shining White was somewhat afraid of Sett, he was worried about battling such a cunning opponent when ghosts might come at any time. But he was even more so—angry. Sett had come out of nowhere and ruined his everything.

Years worth of work had become worthless.

Once this ghost mission was over, White was supposed to become a High Noble himself. He had been promised dominion over a city if the mission was successful.

It was all this guy’s fault.

This city was finished.

The mission had failed.

Lord Burrhen was dead.

That hurt.

Not to mention the fact that many nobles would die.

That hurt even more.
