The palace trembled.

The moment Sett granted Lord Burrhen access to the power of his Inner Tomb, reality itself seemed to have something weighing on it. A wave of sheer, suffocating energy blasted out from Burrhen's kneeling form, sending fissures through the marble beneath him. The very air shuddered.

A deep, guttural rumble echoed from his throat—a sound so alien, so primal, it silenced the entire battlefield.

The guards, the invaders, even the Pharaoh himself froze, their instincts screaming at them to flee. The world seemed to dim, shadows twisting unnaturally as if bending toward the source of power.

Then—

CRACK!

Burrhen's body detonated outward in a spray of crimson mist. His humanoid form was obliterated in an instant, flesh unraveling into raw energy, bones warping, elongating. His spine stretched with sickening snaps, his ribcage expanding as if something was hatching from within him. His face contorted, melting away into something far more monstrous.

Amidst the smoke, a keening noise made everyone's ears ring.

A titanic claw erupted from the smoke—black, jagged, too colossal to be human. A second later, another, then another. The ground buckled beneath the sheer weight of his forming limbs, his shadow stretching over the entire like an eclipse.

And then—

HIS HEAD EMERGED.

A serpentine skull, covered in obsidian-like scales that shimmered with unholy luster. Rows of jagged fangs, glistening like black steel, lined a gaping maw that hissed with the force of a storm. His eyes—four burning crimson orbs—snapped open, their glow searing into the souls of those who dared look upon them.

The tendrils of flesh still clinging to his old form fell apart in bloody bits, revealing his full, monstrous glory.

A chill went down everyone's spine.

The light of the sun was visible inside the palace now, its roof destroyed in most areas. Against the giant Wyrm, the massive Anaconda looked small.

Even Sett's lips twitched at the sight.

Things like these—legendary monsters—Dragons, Phoenixes, Wyrms, and similar, always made him speechless whenever anything related to them appeared.

The sheer strength the creature had was completely unfair.

200 Metric Tons.

Compared to the phony Pharaoh of Kemet, who at most had 30 some Metric Tons worth of force, this strength was just too much. And as Sett expected, the battle was not even a battle.

Lord Burrhen moved like a blur.

Plonk.

Plonk.

Plonk.

Plonk.

All the guards inside the palace—dead.

The Pharaoh—on the floor, bleeding and trembling.

First Prince—on the floor, wheezing and crying.

Egrith—on the floor, but glaring up coldly at the giant Wyrm. Fearless even at the face of death. A man who was willing to die had nothing to fear.

Sett had to agree that this guy, the Third Prince of Kemet, was a real man among men. But ignoring that, he slowly walked up to tower over the three bleeding, dying men.

No matter what, their bodies had incredible defense to be still alive—even human Tier 3s could indeed take a bit of a beating at least. Though, in retrospect, these "Tier 3" beings couldn't even stand a simple plonking from a Tier 2 Great Wyrm.

Birthright mattered.

Great Wyrms had the privilege of being born strong, humans did not.

After all, Burrhen's Axiom was only Tier 2. Yet, by transforming into a Great Wyrm, he dominated the battlefield.

No wonder he had subordinates like the members of the Shining. He alone was much stronger than all of them combined.

If Sett had fought him head on, he would have died a thousand times.

Towering over Egrith, Sett raised his legs, ready to crush the man's skull.

Then, he hesitated.

For Sett, indecision was rare.

"What?" Egrith spoke coldly. "Are you showing pity on me? An enemy?"

Sett was silent.

"Pity?" Egrith laughed. Cold, weak, despondent laughter. "Pity, pity, pity. Hahaha. To think I'd die a pitiful dog's death. You must be very satisfied." His expression became listless. "Now kill me."

Sett shook his head. "I don't pity my enemies and you are more useful to me dead than alive."

No. He had no pity for Egrith, but he was still hesitant about killing a Tier 3. If he killed Egrith right now, he would also end up becoming a Tier 3 being himself.

After all, murder meant evolution for Sett.

If he evolved right now, his strength would reach a new apex among the human race Tier 3s. While they evolved with merely 3 metric tons of base strength, he would be evolving with 16 tons of base strength.

And when eating the Tier 3 Tomb Heart makes him gain an additional 10x multiplication of that strength, Sett would become a walking disaster.

He would gain more than 160 tons of force just through his physical body!

That was breaking new grounds for the human race at Tier 3!

But, that's only new grounds for humans. He frowned. If a Tier 2 Anaconda with 30 Tons of force evolved to Tier 3, they would end up with 300 tons of force.

If something like the Great Wyrm, one of the apex predators of the world, ate a Tier 3 Tomb Heart, it would have as much strength as 2000 Metric Tons.

That was nearly as strong as Tier 4 Tomb Raiders!

Sett became immensely conflicted.

I don't want to evolve into Tier 3 just yet.

Were humans fated to never attain as much physical strength as those apex predators, legendary monsters?

Can humans not fight those monsters without a powerful Axiom?

Sett placed his foot on the Pharaoh's head, contemplative. Zainah and Zarah stood beside him, both of them looking at the bleeding trio on the floor with complex expressions.

The days of his past flickered through Sett's mind.

In the past, when I was Tier 3, I was better than these people but not by that much. They have around 30 metric tons of force while I had around 57 tons.

He was already doing better than his past self, but that made him even greedier for more. But how can he even grow stronger physically anymore?

Sett had reached the limits of Tier 2 as a Tomb Walker. He was already at the Unholy Level. And he no longer had any of his own abilities to conventionally increase his physical strength.
