My CEO Baby Daddy Keeps Falling for My Tricks-Chapter 780 - 787 arrives at Secret Base_1
Chapter 780: 787 arrives at Secret Base_1
"Hey, Qin Muchuan, you sneaky jerk!" Su Yueze chased after him by car.
As they entered the road, there were more cars. Despite his best efforts, Yueze couldn’t catch up.
It was only then that Qin Muchuan slowed down a bit, although his face was still taut and dark.
Lin Xiangwan reached out to grab Qin Muchuan’s steering wheel. "Stop, I want to get off the car!"
Qin Muchuan mustered all his strength to control it. "Idiot, stop trying to wrestle the wheel from me, it will end badly!"
"Then you stop!" Lin Xiangwan continued to threaten.
The car was swinging amidst the traffic, but fortunately, Qin Muchuan’s driving skills were excellent. He controlled the speed and the steering wheel.
The two children in the backseat held onto the car tightly, screaming at their father. "Dad, stop the car, we want to get off!"
"Lin Xiangwan, let me make it clear, if anything happens, you’re to blame. You better worry about these two kids." Qin Muchuan didn’t stop. Instead, he pressed down on the accelerator, causing the car to weave through the traffic at top speed.
The car was simply going too fast. After all, she was a mother. How could she gamble with her children’s lives? So, she gave up.
Qin Muchuan also slowed down the car. He had only sped up because she made him. Those two children were his treasures too. Who wouldn’t worry or be scared?
Lin Xiangwan, looking pale, turned around to look at the two children in the back. "Are you guys okay?"
Ranran and Tongtong looked equally as bad, but they nodded. "We’re okay, I can finally breathe!"
"Me too!"
It wasn’t until then that Lin Xiangwan turned back around, glaring angrily at him. "Qin Muchuan, are you trying to kill us?"
Qin Muchuan looked at her coldly. "You have the nerve to question me? It seems like you’re the one gambling with your children’s lives!"
"You dare accuse me?" Lin Xiangwan’s eyes widened.
"Aren’t you doing the same?" Qin Muchuan gritted his teeth with restrained anger, wishing he could open up this woman’s head to see what exactly was going on inside.
Lin Xiangwan waved her hand dismissively. "Fine, fine, just blame me all you want. Now, I just want to know what do you want? When will you let me go?"
"Let you go? Of course I have to let you go, I don’t want to be stuck in the car with you! But, I must leave you in a place... a place from where you’ll never escape!" Qin Muchuan considered before responding.
Lin Xiangwan gasped. "Where?"
"You’ll find out soon!"
Qin Muchuan drove north, taking the highway. He drove for a long, long time, exiting the highway and crisscrossing through unnamed streets. By then, Lin Xiangwan had utterly lost track of where they were.
She and the children fell asleep by the time he pulled up to stop.
When she awoke, it was the afternoon. The sunlight pierced through the mist, slanting into the room.
"Where is this?" The room was warm, and Lin Xiangwan felt her cheeks flush with the heat. Sweat seeped through her knit sweater.
"Oh, Miss Lin, you’re awake?" A woman in her forties, sporting a strong northeastern accent, greeted her.
Lin Xiangwan was at a loss as she studied the unfamiliar woman. She was a pretty woman dressed in a pink wool jumper, with nice curls in her hair. She appeared to be a kind-hearted, agreeable person.
But how did this nice woman end up here? Was she looking after her?
"Where are we? Who are you?" Lin Xiangwan asked cautiously.
"This is... This is the secret base!"
"A secret base?" Lin Xiangwan’s voice trembled in terror. "Are you... are you terro|rists? Are you going to kill me?"
Damn you, Qin Muchuan. Was he planning on killing her so that no one could compete with him for the children? It must have been so.
The woman chuckled. "Haha, Miss Lin, where did you come up with that? What terro|rist? We are decent humans!"
"Then why do you call it a secret base?" Lin Xiangwan was near tears. "If you want to kill me, please spare my two children. They’re only six years old, just started the first grade. They can’t die!"
"Hey... Miss Lin, what’s wrong with you? We’re not monsters, you know!" The woman laughed. "This place is a secret base, a state department. I can only tell you this much, so don’t ask me what we do here. Just know that this is the safest, most secret place around!"
"Huh?" Lin Xiangwan looked stunned, it took her a while to comprehend what was said. "Are you saying this is a state-secret base?"
"Yes, indeed!" The woman confirmed.
"Then why am I here?" Lin Xiangwan was puzzled. "And where are my children?"
She had so many questions all at once and didn’t know which one to ask first.
"Your children went outside to play with mine. They woke up early and each of them ate four pies!"
"Really?"
Lin Xiangwan leaned against the window to look outside. Apparently, they were on the second floor and the yard beneath was rather vast, surrounded by willow trees.
Due to the weather, the willow branches were withered, and a thin layer of snow covered the ground.
Ranran and Tongtong, both wearing hats, were warmly engaged in play with another child.
They seemed to be the same age and were having a good time.
Observing the scene, Lin Xiangwan felt slight relief. She was reassured that she wouldn’t be murdered.
This seemed to be a very safe place.
"You must be hungry! Let’s go downstairs and get something to eat. You look like you haven’t eaten for a while!" The woman warmly invited.
Lin Xiangwan touched her stomach, which was indeed making rumbling sounds. "Okay!" freeweɓnøvel.com
"The cafeteria is on the first floor. I saved some pies for you! I’ll just need to warm them up in the microwave!" The woman said, smiling.
"Where’s Qin Muchuan? Where is he?" As she exited the room, Lin Xiangwan looked around.
The building was not very large, with about four or five rooms on each floor, all their doors securitized and locked.
The echoes of her footsteps reminded her of the student dormitory she lived in during her university years.
"Xiaoqin, ah, Xiaoqin has already left!"
"What? He’s gone?"
"Yes!" The woman affirmed seriously. "Once he had settled you and the children, he left!"
"Settled?" She didn’t know anything. She didn’t know where this was, or when she would be able to leave. She didn’t even know why she was brought here. She didn’t even have a change of clothes, let alone winter clothes. And this was considered ’settled’? What a joke!
"Mhm. Now that you’re here, there’s nothing to worry about. Just relax and stay here with your children!" The woman said confidently with no doubt about her words.
