My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 74: Ready
Chapter 74: Ready
Bianca broke down the main Breaker guilds like this:
The Noble Ascendancy were born and bred as Breakers. Elitists to the core, they trained like maniacs and believed it was their sacred duty to save humanity. They made up the top 1% in talent, gear, and wealth—each strong enough to solo a dungeon.
The Bloodright of Conquest came next. Mostly middle-class, these were the people who chose to fight for various reasons. They could quit anytime, and their strength varied wildly. They were the ones who actually used the Breaker Ranking System.
Lastly, there was the Truthsong Church—once made up of virtuous folk running orphanages and public schools. When the dungeons appeared, those institutions became recruitment hubs for Crusaders. Now, most of the poor belonged to this faction.
Together, the three formed a delicate balance of power. In politics, business, or government, what mattered wasn’t your nation, race, or faith—it was your guild allegiance.
And while you’d expect them to hate each other’s guts, they didn’t. They simply used one another to handle the problems they didn’t care to solve.
Right now, Elian and his party were headed to the Flame Swallow Dungeon—another site the Church used to raise Crusaders, and one Bastion had visited personally.
It shocked him to learn the Church had subjugated both Wolves and Swallows—turning them into livestock to fuel their war machine.
I didn’t even know that eating monster meat would increase one’s base mana. No wonder it costs as much as a house.
From that standpoint it made total sense that closing both dungeons would hurt the church. Without a steady supply of monster meat, the weak orphans they take in cannot be raised to become the next generation of crusaders.
The fatality statistics Bianca showed me last night were horrifying. Only one in three Crusaders survived their first deployment. And this was them fighting in only Dungeons the Church controlled.
Elian’s musings were disrupted when Bastion called out to them, "We are close. It’s the Red tree over there."
The group ran towards a gigantic red maple tree. Its blossoming branches made it look like a red paintbrush stabbed into the ground.
There was a pink colored portal appearing on the tree’s trunk. There was a large group of Crusaders circling around them. Their armor looked cheap and outdated, like they got their gear from an antique store.
Bianca spotted them and shouted with glee— "I’ll go!"
Fluffy grimaced as she commented, "As expected of a lunatic’s wife. Isn’t she way too happy to use that thing?"
"Let her be Fluffy, my gift allows her to fight alongside us without Possession. Of course she would be happy."
The group watched Bianca soared up in the air and aimed her newest toy at the crusaders. It was a long metallic weapon that had a scope, butt stock and a trigger. Elian saw her shoulder her personal sniper rifle in excitement.
A network of floating ice mirrors angled to catch the sunlight, focusing it into the mirror embedded in the rifle’s buttstock. Like a furnace, the combined heat joined the liquefied mana inside the firing chamber.
"Fralhame Lance Mode E! Firing!"
She pulled the trigger. A solar flare burst from her rifle—a wave of orange-red light erupted from the barrel. It then passed through a column of Ice VII lenses, each one collimating the beam tighter, hotter.
The lance beam detonated with a thunderclap—the air couldn’t move out of its way fast enough. It tore through the sky, light trailing like a burning ribbon, and the shockwave followed half a second later.
It blasted a Crusader on watch—his torso vanished in a flash, limbs dropping in silence.
Elian and the others watched Bianca’s first sniper kill in stunned awe.
"First, she experiments with water in air, now she’s doing beam collimation. Compared to Bianca, I might as well be throwing rocks and sticks."
"Because you really do just throw rocks and bash things with a big stick. But at least I can still understand those! That sniper rifle is insane! How can you even fight against that? It can hit you from more than a kilometer away!"
"Earth actually has a lot more weapons that have even greater range, our ICBM’s can hit you from the other side of the planet," Elian added.
"Yeah, but none of those things can hurt monsters with mana. Even your nukes are worthless to us. That solar cannon you two made last night, can!"
"Please behave, Whisper, this wouldn’t even be an issue if you just killed them all in silence. Your sister’s case is delicate you should know that best. You are putting her in needless risk."
"But Mom, I wanted them to know that I knew. And that I was coming."
Fluffy clicked her tongue in annoyance. With Bianca on sniping duty, the Crusaders died before they could even understand what happened. Elian had also learned that nanomachines acted as real-time CCTV, recording everything a Breaker saw or did.
The recordings were used in everything from trials to proof of identity. Thanks to Fluffy revealing herself in the Snow Wolf dungeon, the Church now knew a ten-meter wolf golem was hunting them.
"I agree with her, let them know we are coming. We will kill them all anyway," Bastion said menacingly.
Well look at him, he hasn’t even turned into a Weapon but already thinks like one.
As Elian’s group approached several more high-energy beams shot out. Each killed their targets with pinpoint accuracy. Due to Bianca’s insane firing rate, hardly any of the Crusaders could alert their allies.
"Wait here, I will check the portal to see if it’s the one I remember," Bastion ordered.
When all the humans were dead, Bianca quickly rejoined her family. She had a huge smile on her face.
"Elian! Did you see? It works! I can fight with you now even without Fluffy!"
Seeing her delight, Elian nodded and was lavish with his praise.
"I did. You were so amazing Bianca. No one would be able to do what you just did. With your new sniper rifle, you can pick off targets from afar."
"Until the sun goes down," Fluffy scoffed.
"Ha! I already have plans on how to fight if the sun goes down. Right, Elian?" fгeewebnovёl.com
"Yes, I look forward to it. This way of fighting, should be far more economical for your mana. Rather than using hundreds to create projectiles, your beam blasts should use a fraction of that."
Silent joined in as she nuzzled Bianca, "I already knew about it beforehand, and I’m still impressed. Well done, Daughter. You were so wonderful."
Bianca giggled in happiness and smiled, "Thanks Mom!"
Bastion, who went to check out the dungeon door, came back and called everyone over.
"Let’s go. It’s the same portal; my memories of the inside should still be accurate. Daughter, that was some fantastic shooting. I am proud of you."
At her dad’s praise Bianca beamed and threw herself at him. Meanwhile Elian got off Fluffy and began arming himself with his wall armor and weapons. As he did, he asked Bastion.
"Father-in-law, anything inside we should worry about?"
"For you? Not really. But we do need to split up. This dungeon has three floors, the door to the Tyrant’s room cannot be opened unless you have the key or take out the two Knights protecting the first two floors."
"Well, that is new. Can’t we just destroy the third floor?"
Bastion shook his head at Elian’s suggestion, "You can’t. The Knights actually guard escape tunnels. Should you assault the third floor but not take both out, the Tyrant will run away to either the first or the second floor."
"Tsk, can’t be helped then."
"One thing, Elian. The Tyrant here is a matriarch of the Flame Swallows. Unlike Strength of Winter, she was subordinated against her will. If we free her, she may surrender to you without need for bloodshed."
"Don’t I have to kill her to get my second mark?" Elian asked puzzled.
"I am unsure, I was told that the marks can be freely given as a sign of allegiance. Try only if you have the capacity to spare her. If she fights, end her, your safety comes first, Elian."
Bastion’s firm declaration made Elian feel warm. Although he wasn’t related to them yet, the Fralhame wolves already treated him as one of his own. The sense of belonging felt wonderful.
"I understand. Then I will go from the front. Bianca will support me. Father-in-law, please take Fluffy and Mother-in-law with you. We will do fine with just the two of us."
"Okay. Bianca, don’t overdo it, alright? Your mother and I will be back soon. We will hit the 2nd floor and meet you in the third. There will be a lot of humans, so we need to move fast. Keep safe and protect each other."
"I understand, Dad. Please take care everyone. Elian and I will also do our best."
At her farewell, Fluffy came closer and rubbed her face against Bianca, "Try not to be such a scatterbrain, okay?"
The witch giggled, "Why is everyone treating me like a child! Go already!"
When the three wolves left, Elian faced the portal and extended a hand to Bianca.
"Ready?"
"Ready!" she exclaimed excitedly.
