My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 86: Will
Chapter 86: Will
Life, at its core, was always a clash of wills.
The will of heaven, of nature, of time and death—against the will of man. Or man against man. A person’s will defined his choices. And in the end, his choices defined his life.
When a will was tested, only two outcomes remained:
You either bent—for survival, for compromise.
Or you stood, and imposed your own.
Elian’s blood raced.
Standing before him was something so powerful, he couldn’t even comprehend it. Heaven’s Fist was no longer a man. The System had even stolen his name.
He had been transformed—by the gods, the System, or the Crucible—into pure will.
But none of that mattered.
What did matter was what Heaven’s Fist stood for.
He was the overlord who kept humanity from moving forward. The gatekeeper who ensured no Tyrant could rise from Earth’s ashes.
Elian understood the logic. He could even sympathize.
Heaven’s Fist had done their race a great service: by ensuring only the strong could reach for godhood, he made sure that when Earth did enter the Crucible in full, it would be led by someone worthy.
But no matter how noble his mission—Elian couldn’t let him live.
Not because of his strength. Not because of his title.
But because he wanted Bianca Valestra dead.
And that was something Elian Reed would never accept.
No matter how righteous, how powerful, or how visionary the future Heaven’s Fist represented—Elian rejected it.
We cannot exist in the same world, old man.
Either you die... or I do.
Without mercy, Heaven’s fist came for Elian again. Slamming his foot into the ground, the breaker drew power from his entire body and sent it all into his fist. A fist that came far too fast for Elian to see.
BOOM!
A powerful impact came, slamming against Elian’s head. Once again, the eyeballs he had just fixed ruptured, drowning him in darkness. He lost all control of anything above his neck. As if he was decapitated.
Yet, Elian ignored the pain and braced his core, opening up his shoulder panels, he unleashed his greatest firepower.
"Blockbuster."
Due to losing his ears, Elian fought in silence. Only the tremors that made the air vibrate told him he was still in the fight. That and the pain.
"ARGGGHH!!!"
All of a sudden, Elian felt his arm being pulled out of its socket. Before he could react, a powerful impact struck the left side of his midsection.
Shockwaves ravaged his insides. The muscles, tendons, and skin connecting his arm to his body were again ripped apart. Unlike his other arm, it was slow, painful and sent his mind reeling from the torment.
"System! Hurry!" Elian screamed.
[Restoring vision, I will use the ones furthest from the two of you.]
In that moment, Elian’s eyesight came back but it was no longer a vision of a human being. He saw his broken-down body from both the left and right at once. It was like he was looking at multiple CCTV monitors all pointed at his body.
It looks like I still have my head. He is...what the hell? What is he doing?
But that wasn’t what Elian grew surprised about. It was the fact that Heaven’s Fist was tearing his arm apart. He ignored the rest of Elian’s body and focused on shredding the arm to pieces. His opponent’s actions gave the golem a grim revelation.
He is looking for my core!
Immediately Elian began to weigh his options. If he kept his core in his body, his opponent might find it. But if he tried to drive his body remotely, he would slow down significantly. Losing his main body would be the same as losing the battle.
Thankfully, he hasn’t figured out that I can control the floor we stood on. Intentionally not using it was the right choice.
Elian wanted to give the impression of a brute, that way he could hide his hand. He intentionally refrained from commanding the Living Metal spread across the battlefield. The golem could have saved himself with it by turning it into limbs, extra weapons, and the like.
But once I do, he would take steps to avoid it.
Using his third person view, Elian saw that Blockbuster had been destroyed. The launchers were smashed—twisted and useless.
Let’s make him believe they are still broken. I will fix the tubes and relocate the openings. This bastard even broke my backpack in two.
Elian commanded the onyx spheres on the floor to flatten and spread. Heaven’s Fist made the mistake of underestimating him. Elian was not, in fact a rampaging brute but a warrior who used his tactics and smarts.
Think! Think! What can I do to win?
"System. Give me everything you have on Heaven’s Fist. How is he so strong?"
Before the system could answer, Heaven’s Fist completed his task. He vanished and immediately closed the distance between Elian’s body. His arms were gone, Blockbuster broken, Only Bayonet remained.
Luckily he was lying on his back. Despite there being a huge hole in his chest, his thrusters were still fine. Elian’s body tensed as his opponent came closer.
His core was currently hidden in his right foot. If he was unlucky, he could die once Heaven’s Fist decided to stomp on his feet.
Come on. Come on.
[Heaven’s Fist is an anomaly among Earth’s Breakers. Unlike Chad Dawson who used his body as a mana converter, Heaven’s Fist rejected allowing the mana to enter his body.]
"He what?"
[Rather than use the mana in its raw form like fuel, he fused every single cell in his body with it. His current body is comparable to a monster’s. Bones harder than steel, muscles that never tire, nerves that transmit 100% times faster, and so on.]
Tsk. let’s ignore the how for now.
Heaven’s Fist placed his hand on Elian’s hip and was about to grab his left leg.
"NOW!"
Firing Cinderglass into his thruster, Elian’s body surged forward. He lowered his head and placed his opponent along the path of Bayonet. But the next moment made Elian doubt what he saw.
Clink!
As if striking a wall of metal, Elian’s horn stopped from penetrating his skin. Even with thrusters at full force. Without so much as a word, Heaven’s Fist smacked Elian on the head and punched through the hole in his body.
"ARGH!"
The Cinderglass on his back detonated, sending waves of fire through his insides. Then Elian’s opponent stabbed his fingers into the golems eye sockets and pulled upward. As if opening a crab, Heaven’s Fist tore the upper half of Elian’s skull off.
[Talent: Driven – triggered. Elian Reed will never lose consciousness in the face of an enemy.]
Elian’s body shook. He felt every nerve in his body writhe in agony. No wonder Heaven’s Fist did not even have a drop of blood on him. Despite firing all his weapons, none of them could even penetrate his opponent’s skin.
He is too powerful. I can’t kill him this way.
Heaven’s Fist threw the upper half away and ripped off Elian’s lower jaw off his neck. The man then tore his left leg and slammed him on the ground.
No tactic works. No weapon breaks him. How do you beat EX stats? His body is so powerful that calling that a human is a joke! Wait... his body... he gave everything to his body.
Then Elian had an epiphany.
Which means his mind is still human.
Elian looked at the battlefield and noticed something. Heaven’s Fist was the ultimate human. But that was all he was. He could punch, he could kick, but his strength had to remain in those dimensions.
Elian did not.
[360 Combat vision completed.]
At that moment, Elian’s vision changed, he saw himself from all angles all at once. He saw everything on the battlefield—his opponent, and even the leaves that danced in the air.
"Now, we are talking."
Deciding on his plan, Elian drew Living Metal from his body and reconstructed a human silhouette. A silhouette of polished black. He then placed his golden core at the human body’s chest. Recreating his voice box, Elian spoke.
"You are way too powerful, old man."
"And you are an abomination just like your lover. Like a slug, hiding behind petty tricks. No wonder I couldn’t kill you. You were just a slime masquerading as a golem."
Elian then fashioned a sword and took an offensive stance.
"You talk too much."
"Arrogant whelp."
And once again the two figures charged at one another.
