Chapter 72 - Hiroshi Okada’s Downfall (2)  Warning! Violence

When Hiroshi received the news about the fire breaking in the weapons storage, he was infuriated to death. He instantly sent Torune and many of his men to go there and see what was happening and arrest the person behind the incident. Hiroshi has sworn that he will kill the person with his own hands when they are caught.

Hiroshi's attention was inevitably divided, and the security at the main headquarters unknowingly loosened as they assumed no enemy would dare to attack.

Some time ago, Hiroshi might have felt triumphant, believing that the downfall of the Ishikawa family was imminent and that he only needed to watch as the family disappeared forever. He never imagined that Tetsuya would launch a surprise attack instead of causing chaos at the Ishikawa residence, as Hiroshi had anticipated.

After Hayate completed his task, it was Tetsuya's turn to act. And with Ryuuhei successfully finishing his mission, the main event was about to begin.

Rin carried out her task of hacking the computers, causing a sudden blackout. As a result, the computerized defense system based in one room was completely paralyzed for the time being. Using this fact, Tetsuya and his soldiers moved forward, infiltrating the building in the middle of the night. Fortunately, everyone had special night-vision goggles, so navigating the dark was easy.

Suddenly, Tetsuya got this foreboding sense that something bad would occur. But he dismissed it, remembering the enormous dangers of what he was doing today—lives are at risk. Whatever, they had gone too far to turn back now. Even if it's death, he would not turn back.

Without a trace of fear, Tetsuya boldly threw a smoke bomb into the middle lobby, putting the guards on duty there into a frenzy. Before they could even react, they were met with a barrage of gunfire and slashes from Tetsuya's men.

"Time to party," Tetsuya said casually, putting on his black gloves and taking a painkiller to ensure he could move freely in battle without being hindered by his heart condition.

The Hiroshi headquarters was in complete chaos, and the atmosphere was tense. There was turmoil in Hiroshi's headquarters, and the atmosphere was filled with tension. Despite its solid reputation for having a reliable defense system, Tetsuya has easily brought the headquarters to its knees without encountering any major obstacles. Today, Tetsuya came with full force, feeling like he was the one who would take Hiroshi away from this world as the harbinger of death. Not long after Tetsuya launched his attack, Mizuki and Hayate taunted him upon their arrival. Both of them were equally angry with Hiroshi's men because they also had their grudges.

"Protect Master Hiroshi!" one of his men shouted, trying to fend off Tetsuya's men, who continued to rain bullets on them.

The burly man who had shouted earlier returned fire while attempting to protect his boss. Unfortunately, his efforts came to an abrupt end when a bullet from Mizuki pierced his skull, causing him to collapse lifelessly in a pool of blood near Hiroshi.

Hiroshi flinched in shock as yet another of his men died protecting him, but that was their primary duty, after all.

"Nonsense," Mizuki snorted, raising her weapon.

Rin's eyes were fiery with rage as she glanced sinisterly at Mizuki. "What did you do that for?!" She yelled, being mad that the person she wanted to kill was taken out when she was aiming at him.

"There's no problem at all." Said Mizuki in a quiet tone.

"That man was my target. I could've been the one to kill him," Rin said with her teeth clenched and anger held back.

"Whether it's you or me, it doesn't matter. What's the point of debating something so small?" Mizuki said, walking up the stairs while Hayate followed behind her.

Rin stomped her foot on the ground several times in frustration. "So annoying!" she groaned before following them.

Many of Hiroshi's men had already fallen, their corpses scattered along the corridors on every floor of the building. Due to the power not being fully restored, the dim lighting added to the chaos, slightly hindering Fukami as he tried to escort the old man out of the building through a secret passage. Unfortunately, this plan was thwarted when Tetsuya found them first, attempting to escape through a hidden staircase behind a wall.

Tetsuya's plan had successfully turned Hiroshi's confidence into fear. Hiroshi had never imagined that Tetsuya would attack his headquarters. At the same time, security was lax due to the sudden assault on the weapons storage.

A dagger nearly struck Hiroshi's head had Fukami not quickly pulled him aside with his sharp reflexes. Hiroshi's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the sharp blade deep in the wall before him. It was, of course, Tetsuya's doing.

"What a shame it missed," Tetsuya sighed in disappointment, having aimed so carefully but missed his target.

Hiroshi scowled angrily, "Tetsuya Ishikawa!" he spat furiously.

The young man called Tetsuya Ishikawa smiled innocently, with no remorse for attempting to murder Hiroshi. He only wished that his bullet had not been deflected by Fukami's action—otherwise, death would have come knocking on the door.

"It's been too long, old man," Tetsuya nonchalantly declared while the chaos and tension he had just caused remained.

After that, Fukami moved up in the face of the danger without looking back, even if it dared come at him, and backup for Hiroshi.

"You'd have to walk on my body first if you even want to injure Master Hiroshi," Fukami scornfully announced to the man who tried to hurt Hiroshi with cold spells, his eyes being poisonous mushrooms in the forest.

Now, Tetsuya smiled differently, chuckling and shaking his head at Fukami's sentimental words to Hiroshi. The person Fukami was a shield of turned out to be an inhuman brute who passed through numerous cases, one of which was how he handled Kaito Ishikawa, Tetsuya's grandfather.

Black gloves clung tightly to Tetsuya's hands. When he wore those gloves, it signaled that he was serious about the fight. There would be no hesitation or mercy, no matter who his opponent was. Fukami wasn't about to be outdone. He drew his katana from its sheath.

"Why don't you shoot that brat in the head, Fukami!" Hiroshi shouted, panicked and annoyed that Fukami had drawn his sword instead of using a gun, which would have ended things quickly.

"This is still very sketchy. Let's take it slowly. First, we need to find a weapon for me," Fukami equivocated, being a samurai. Still, he was steadfast on the matter of honor as he continued. They were adversaries, but he didn't compromise on his principles. There was only one way out of the situation, and that was to kill the enemy with a sword, which is less shameful than shooting him dead in the head.

"You should never give in, Fukami. You know it's Tetsuya Ishikawa," Hiroshi rapidly shouted, ordering his men not to be misguided by their inner panic.

"I am standing here with a smile, full of tranquillity and self-assurance as if I have just won the contest. What about you? Are you still in the dark, Sir Hiroshi, that he is a heart patient and that he can only work for a short term? Let's say, no worries, I will vanquish and kill him."

With the release of thousands of worries, his face started glowing, and he was fully contented with Fukami's decision to participate instead of him.

Despite Tetsuya's renowned skills, his heart condition was his greatest weakness. Fortunately, Fukami had realized this after several encounters where Tetsuya had never been able to engage in physical combat for more than half an hour. Continuing beyond that would be suicidal for Tetsuya.

Unfazed, Tetsuya remained calm and composed. He offered a sword to Mizuki on his right, asking, "Please give me a sword.

"Cut him in half, boss," Mizuki persuaded, disregarding Fukami's rudeness when he disrespected Tetsuya's abilities.

At this point, Fukami and Tetsuya were looking at each other with their blades ready. Although Tetsuya was not fully trained with the sword, he was able to use some basic techniques and footwork that his late Sensei had taught him as a kid.

Tetsuya developed his bending elbow, keeping it far from other body parts. He indicated the sword toward his adversary without stretching his arm entirely.

Such intolerable silence among the people was evident as they were split into two completely antithetical sides: the Tetsuya and the Fukami backers. Both factions anticipated that their fighters would gloriously win the confrontation.

Taking the initiative, Fukami quickly attacked Tetsuya, who was lucky to have blocked the slice. He then attacked back by cutting Fukami's left arm with his sword. Upon witnessing this, Mizuki and others happily cheered.

During the battle, an army of fortified soldiers suddenly appeared like a rain of bombs. Their overwhelming numbers put the teams out of slight balance. However, the fearless four of them did not feel the threat. Hayate was glad that the ballooning number of fighters left no dull moment.

Originally, Fukami could have been assured of his success when he knew he was in good health and shape. Nevertheless, regarding combat skills, Fukami had no right to disregard Tetsuya. Even though Tetsuya only had a short sparring period, he took Fukami down in less than a few minutes. The truth of this statement came out as Fukami struggled to follow Tetsuya's strikes. He already knew it was too late to retrieve himself because his body had received a few slashes from a sword.

"What happened to all that continual confidence and pride from a little while ago?" Tetsuya mocked with a grin on his face.

Fukami, very exhausted, waved his hand to show his irritation at being undervalued by Tetsuya. "Refrain from overreacting too early, that is, if you are, indeed, sure you have won."

"We might as well put an end to it and stop playing the game," Tetsuya said, his eyes fixed upon Fukami like the eyes of a tiger. His bloodthirst was boiling.

Tetsuya leaped forward, charging Fukami at lightning speed. Sorry for Fukami. However, he could not evade the attack, and Tetsuya sliced off Fukami's head. Fukami's head hit the ground, stopping behind Hiroshi's feet.

"FUKAMI!!!!!" Hiroshi yelled, half in shock and half in horror.

Fukami's headless body collapsed in a pool of blood at Tetsuya's feet. As it turned out, Tetsuya's swordsmanship hadn't diminished despite all these years of not training.

Upon witnessing his favorite subordinate lie dead, Hiroshi was infuriated and committed to avenging Fukami's death. He wouldn't let Fukami's sacrifice be in vain. After so long without showing his true abilities, Hiroshi finally drew his sword to face Tetsuya, revealing his true self—not just a useless old man who always hid behind his subordinates.

Hiroshi retrieved his sword, which was neatly displayed in a glass case in the corner of the room. It was an heirloom from his late grandfather, a famous samurai. After years of remaining untouched, the sword would taste blood again.

Tetsuya's sharp eyes closely watched Hiroshi's movements, even as his heart ached painfully. His left hand reflexively clutched his chest, which felt as if thousands of needles were piercing it. But Tetsuya was not one to let others see his weakness.

Tetsuya continued to smile, trying to suppress the pain in his chest. Unnoticed by anyone, his right hand trembled—not out of fear, but from the intense pain that was draining his strength.

If he were to fight Hiroshi, Tetsuya wasn't sure he could win. But at the very least, he would fight to the bitter end. He knew better than to underestimate Hiroshi's combat skills, as Fukami and Torune were his students. Tetsuya drew his sword. "It's a pleasure to battle someone as powerful as you, Mr. Hiroshi Okada," he said with a sweet grin. He accepted Hiroshi's battle even though he knew the outcome of this fight - his death. His time was running out.

Tetsuya struck first, but Hiroshi avoided it effortlessly and counterattacked. Fortunately, Tetsuya was able to dodge, though he was tired.

Not even two minutes into the fight, Tetsuya's movements began to slow down. He was not as agile as before since the effect of his painkillers was wearing off. Sensing Tetsuya's weakening state, Hiroshi saw an opportunity to target his weak point.

Hiroshi punched Tetsuya's left chest hard. Tetsuya fell backward, clutching his chest and biting his lip in pain. "Ugh~" He vomited out a mouthful of dark reddish blood.

"Master Tetsuya!" Mizuki gazed anxiously, wanting to help him, but was held back by Hayate.

Tetsuya's entire body convulsed as he endured the searing pain within his chest. It felt like his heart was being compressed and compressed with tremendous force.

"I know you're a good fighter, but unfortunately, you're. Broken," Hiroshi jeered coldly, without any emotion. Tetsuya could not shout back. Instead, he smiled weakly, his lips smeared with fresh blood.

"Ugh~" Tetsuya spat out additional clotted blood.

His body was weak, and he could not hold his sword tightly. Tetsuya was at his mercy. His eyes weakened, and his breath was harsh and loud. It was clear that Tetsuya would die, yet Hiroshi did not feel sympathetic. He was extremely eager to kill him sooner.

Hiroshi loomed above Tetsuya, sword held high, his eyes icy and unyielding. The resounding ring of steel on steel sounded through the air.

"Not so fast, old man!" Renji hissed, blocking Hiroshi's sword with his own before delivering a powerful kick to Hiroshi's stomach, sending him flying backward into a wall. Hiroshi coughed up fresh blood.

Renji helped Tetsuya to his feet and quickly gave him medicine provided by Tsuchihebi. While the drug couldn't cure him, it could ease the pain and stabilize his heartbeat.

"Feeling better?" Renji asked, checking on Tetsuya after he took the medicine.

"Yes, thank you," Tetsuya replied weakly.

"You're welcome."

Who would have thought that Renji and hundreds of his men would arrive to assist in the middle of the battle? Following Renji's orders to level Hiroshi's headquarters, the Hayabusa group members carried out their tasks diligently, aiming to please their boss. Every remaining member of Hiroshi's group was slaughtered, leaving only Hiroshi himself.

Hiroshi stood amidst his men's corpses, facing Renji and hundreds of his subordinates. As per his original goal, Renji had come as the harbinger of death for Hiroshi.

Feeling cornered, Hiroshi tried to use Rin as a shield to escape. Still, unfortunately, Renji stabbed Hiroshi through the left chest, piercing Rin as well. The woman collapsed, drenched in blood. Fujita rushed to help Rin before it was too late, as her injuries were severe.

"You devil!" swore Hiroshi, clutching his left chest.

"I have heard that one before," Renji said proudly.

"No, I am not your enemy. I promise you before you die, I will give you a gift," Renji declared, going into his breast pocket and dropping a locket watch to Hiroshi. It was a photograph of Momoko, the most beautiful daughter, who Hiroshi embraced.

"W-Why do you keep this?" Hiroshi hampered his eyes in horror and felt their wide bulbs. The little round object's forceful pressure on his palm made him think about the birthday party when he bought it for Momoko.

"Because she is my mother," Tetsuya spelled it out, thus solving a problem arising from Hiroshi's wrong concept of "mother".

The remaining group of people, too, expressed just as much surprise and joy as they had had when they had heard Tetsuya's announcement, which, therefore, had the same effect of establishing H as the long-lost grandson of Hiroshi.

"No... it's impossible," Hiroshi expressed his disbelief with a shake of his head.

"You're lying! It's not possible that you are my daughter's child!" Hiroshi screamed, refusing to accept the truth

"I am your daughter's child. My mother's name was Momoko," Tetsuya said, setting the record straight and irrefutably determining Hiroshi as his grandfather.

Hiroshi was in agony. He was screaming so loudly as if he wanted to reject the fact that his spoilsports, his grandson, are his enemies.

All this time, his search for his grandson had been in vain, as Tetsuya had been right in front of him, and they had known each other for years.

Initially, Renji's reaction was similar to Hiroshi's—he couldn't fully believe it. But after seeing all the evidence, Renji had no choice but to accept that Tetsuya was Hiroshi Okada's grandson. Renji had only recently discovered this fact after secretly investigating Tetsuya through Yamato. Fortunately, despite being Hiroshi's grandson, Tetsuya had never sided with him and vehemently opposed his actions.

"Tetsuya," Renji called, giving him a meaningful look.

Tetsuya smiled faintly as if understanding. "Do your duty. I won't hate you or blame you for it."

Renji smiled as well. "Alright," he said, filled with a sense of relief.

Renji didn't give him a chance before Hiroshi could embrace his grandson, express his longing, talk about many things, and apologize for all his past actions.

Raising his sword, Renji was about to whip Hiroshi. "Good that you are still old man, farewell," he said.

When Renji's blade swirled with a sheer speed, it ripped through Hiroshi's flesh, and the latter dropped dead, his body being covered in blood. Before, Renji had planned to make Hiroshi suffer before he died. However, after Renji got to know Hiroshi was his brother's grandfather, he felt the last moments of Hiroshi should be respectful, so he killed him swiftly.

Finally, Renji killed Hiroshi, the mastermind behind all the dark events plaguing the Ishikawa family. Now, all that remained was to deal with Kaito Ishikawa, his grandfather, and his subordinates—especially Ryoji Yakushi, who had turned out to be Hiroshi's spy. Ryoji had been manipulating Kaito from behind the scenes, posing as Kaito Ishikawa's right-hand man.
