Mystery Paradise: Wishing Power Demon-Chapter 242 - 241 Solo Meeting
Chapter 242: Chapter 241 Solo Meeting
Chapter 242 -241 Solo Meeting
Nowhere…not present?
Chaoyang furrowed his brows, “What does this mean?”
“I don’t know… No strange phenomena have occurred, people are living as usual, and moreover… they are living quite well,” Leisk pondered his words, “But if it were in Magnificent Castle… this would basically be impossible. When the Evil God is about to descend, tearing the sky apart, that spreading circle of red light is its aura. You know, once enveloped by the red light, people immediately turn into deformed monsters.”
“But you also said the concentration is different.”
“Indeed, because I have never sensed such a diluted aura. But however diluted it may be, theoretically it should still have an effect, like inducing Hysteria. What’s more… the aura here is really too complex, it’s a wonder in itself that humans can live well under the influence of so many Evil Gods.”
All of a sudden, Leisk raised his head with a howl, as if giving up on thinking altogether, “No use, I can’t think of an answer, there must be something wrong with my perception abilities, just forget what I’ve said!”
Chaoyang exchanged a glance with Luowei Siya, both at a complete loss.
At this moment, someone knocked on the door.
“It’s me, Xi Er.”
Chaoyang opened the door and saw the other person with a drooping head, clearly looking scolded, a stark contrast to the energetic big sister image she had upon first meeting him.
“Mr. Zhao, our boss wants to invite you to attend the farewell gathering hosted by Mr. K.”
“Are you all right?” Chaoyang couldn’t help but ask. Is Ailuodi that frightening?
Since the castle was previously crammed with police and post-disaster personnel, it was now difficult for the three of them to leave unnoticed. To avoid any additional complications, they could only meet with Ailuodi honestly and report their own sneaky tracking. As a result, Ailuodi had no choice but to ask Mr. K to add three more names to the reception list.
“She was indeed quite angry, blaming us for not running away when we saw the monster, and recklessly charging into the castle,” Xi Er sighed, “To hide the fact that you provided us with weapons, we took quite a scolding. But where exactly did you get those weapons from? To be able to procure such items in M City, you must be no ordinary man, right?”
“Ahaha…” Chaoyang touched the back of his head, feigning an innocent expression, “It’s for your own good, otherwise, if you got involved with a bunch of prohibited weapons, even Mr. K would have trouble covering for you. Where is Ailuodi? I’ll go see her now.”
“She’s waiting for you in the lobby on the first floor.”
The three followed Xi Er to the lobby to find that it no longer bore the tragic look of the afternoon, the bloodstains on the floor all cleaned away, the broken tables, chairs, doors, and windows replaced with new ones. However, what had not dissipated was the sorrow in people’s hearts; over a hundred people sat together, comforting each other as low sobs occasionally permeated through the crowd.
There hadn’t been this many people in the castle the day before.
Most likely, relatives and friends of the victims had heard the bad news and rushed right over. As the initiator of the gathering, Mr. K clearly could not turn them away now.
“You’re here,” Ailuodi nodded at Chaoyang upon seeing him, “Let’s go.”
The latter noticed that she had changed into a plain colored dress, having lost some of her previous liveliness and instead took on an added air of composure.
The Skeleton Hand quartet and the Paradise trio merged into one group, proceeding to the garden on the east side of the castle, the same resting greenery Chaoyang had been able to overlook from the balcony. By now, dozens of people had gathered on the greenery, and Chaoyang saw that almost all surviving Angels appeared there; even Dolly, who loved to dress up, had taken off her earrings and necklace to don an all-black suit.
There were no coffins or headstones on site, just over thirty floral wreathes standing in a circle in the center of the garden. This farewell gathering was not just for the Angels, but also for the involved family members, friends, as well as the castle’s guards and service personnel.
It was not a formal funeral.
Rather, it was more like an advanced mourning session.
Consequently, no one gave a speech, and there were no mandatory proceedings; everyone only quietly arrived in front of the floral wreath of those they knew, to reflect in silence.
One of these wreaths belonged to Tiffany.
“I never thought I would meet her under such circumstances,” Ailuodi stood in front of the wreath and after a moment of silence, she whispered, “Maybe if I had agreed to start the clinic with her, she wouldn’t have gone to the United States alone.”
“In that case, you wouldn’t have established Skeleton Hand, and Blan, Xi Er, and the others wouldn’t have been by your side either.”
“Yes… So I don’t regret my decision, it’s just that I can’t help but imagine another possibility,” Ailuodi turned her head and smiled at him, “Don’t worry, I’m fine.”
“The boss has gone through such farewells before, sadness alone can’t bring down Skeleton Hand, don’t underestimate her,” Frey muttered.
“You’ve experienced it before?”
“Anyone who can survive in the slums will encounter similar things more than once,” Ailuodi replied calmly, “I’m only half a visitor here, while they are the ones who have struggled out of the mire, much stronger than me.”
“Miss Ailuodi?”
At this moment, someone approached from behind.
Everyone turned around to find that it was Dan.
“Sorry for interrupting your mourning,” Dan glanced over everyone and looked toward Ailuodi, “Mr. K is ready for a private meeting with you. If you intend to go, you can find me at the church entrance.”

“No need, I’ll go now,” Angel nodded.
“Then please, follow me.”
Ailuodi winked at Chaoyang, “See you in a bit.”
The latter naturally understood what she meant, “Sure, I’ll take them around a bit longer.”
This of course wasn’t a real ‘see you in a bit’, as Chaoyang could see everything through her eyes. In other words, K was actually going to be facing two people. They had also anticipated various reactions from K, and if K showed too much hostility towards Demon, then Ailuodi would take Chaoyang and leave immediately. However, for safety’s sake, while they talked, Chaoyang should stay in a safe area to avoid being attacked by the many angels.
After all, it was best not to reveal the ability to split oneself unnecessarily; it was an emergency trump card.
And the dense forest connected to the mountains behind the garden was a good “quiet zone.”
…
Following Dan, Ailuodi walked into the church and found that it had been cleaned up too, and all the colored glass windows were covered with white cloth, giving it a rather solemn air.
Dan opened a small door and went in first — the same passage where K, in a wheelchair, had made his appearance at the start of the gathering. Ailuodi was surprised to find that the door didn’t lead to a room in the main tower, but instead traveled down a sloped ramp at a fifteen-degree angle, much deeper than your average basement.
“Where does this path lead?” she asked.
“To Mr. K’s residence.”
“He’s been living in a place like this?”
“Yes, he only leaves when he has guests to receive,” Dan replied.
Ailuodi couldn’t help but be surprised. To think that one would choose to live underground, without natural light and in damp, cool conditions, especially when they owned a castle as luxurious as this, was beyond her expectations. Additionally, she caught a detail in his words, “You just mentioned leaving… Shouldn’t it be a robot controlled by him that leaves?”
Dan gave her a complex smile, “Sorry, I’m not at liberty to tell you about that. If you get a chance later, you can ask him yourself. Sometimes I wonder what Mr. K sacrificed so much for. But perhaps it’s precisely because of that sacrifice that he can be the guardian and guide for all angels, allowing us to continue in this hopeless world.”
