Mystery Paradise: Wishing Power Demon-Chapter 245 - 244 Those Who Abandon Me
Chapter 245: Chapter 244: Those Who Abandon Me
Chapter 245 -244: Those Who Abandon Me
“Huh? Someone from the Flynn family?”
Ailuodi’s eyes widened.
Of course, she knew who Diad Flynn was! He was the ancestor of the Flynn family, the father of George Flynn, the grandfather of Tyler, and one of the founders of the Sunflower Project.
“That’s right, what a coincidence,” Chaoyang sneered, explaining why the British responded so swiftly and wanted to trace things back to him. If Diad had been aware of the existence of Demons since then, it’s certain that the top brass of MI6 would have heard something.
However, the phrase “infiltrated among them” K used was a bit vague.
Was Sussas directly collaborating with the people in the photo, or had he been hiding his identity, covertly climbing to the top ranks to initiate something big?
No wonder the Angels of that era were so wary of Demons.
Once the latter gained control of the entire military using their abilities, the idea of a full-scale nuclear war wasn’t just an overblown fear.
“But he went to a desolate world; he must have died there, right?” Ailuodi speculated.
“That’s highly possible,” Chaoyang remarked feelingly, as his own life span at that time was counting down by days, “Opening a portal requires a tremendous amount of wishing power, and if he didn’t find a source to replenish it right away, death would have been imminent.”
The Sunflower Project… Was it really just as the top-secret documents claimed, born out of the need to deal with a rupture with allies?
Chaoyang returned his gaze to the photo in the deep web. There were fifteen people in the group photo. Under what circumstances was it taken? Were all of them related to the Sunflower Project? How many of them knew the secret of the Demons?
If not for the keywords—military, Sussas, and more—from K some thirty years ago, he would probably never have found this black and white photograph.
When he had the time, perhaps he should thoroughly investigate every participant of the Sunflower Project.
…
The next morning, Ailuodi received a notification that the meeting would continue.
She came to the church again, only to be surprised to find that the number of Angels seated around the long table had diminished by more than half. She initially thought she had arrived too early but after waiting nearly a quarter of an hour, the number of attendees did not increase.
When Dan wheeled K into the hall, only five remained present—Ailuodi, Fat Angel, Puppet Master Girl, Sugami Toshimitsu, and Dolly Yasha.
“Mr. K, the Kelo brothers have asked me to tell you that they need a considerable amount of time to recover their energy, so they can’t partake in this battle against the source of evil,” Toshimitsu coughed twice. “However, they’re willing to offer support in other ways, such as rallying wealthy people to donate or calling on public opinion to empower us.”
The girl followed, “When I woke up this morning, I found an envelope stuffed under my door. It’s from Miss Chica next door, and she hoped I could pass this letter to you.”
After saying this, she pushed the letter to the center of the long table.
Fat Angel looked left and right, then suddenly realized, “Wait, are all these people not coming?”
No one replied.
The atmosphere at the scene became awkward for a moment.
K slowly reached out and pinched the letter.
But he didn’t open it. Instead, he held it in the middle with both hands, then slowly tore it.
After tearing it in half, he stacked the pieces and repeated the action. Under the jerky movement of the mechanical arm, the process was somewhat comical, yet nobody could laugh.
Surprisingly, Ailuodi read a rare trace of loneliness in those emotionless glass eyes of his.
Yes… loneliness, not disappointment.
“Miss K, you…” the girl was at a loss for words.
“It’s okay, I understand,” he shook his head, “The reason I don’t read this letter is because I don’t want Miss Chica’s lies to come true. As long as I don’t read it, she doesn’t have to fabricate lies to leave.”
“Uh… so you mean, we can leave without asking for leave?” The chubby angel was a bit confused about the situation.
“If you refused the invitation and never intended to attend the gathering from the start, am I supposed to punish you for that?” K sighed, “No one can force you to do something dangerous; you are willing to take the risk because you are angels.”
“I just want to avenge Tiffany,” Dolly said bluntly.
“Righteousness does not exclude anger.” K looked at the others, “And you?”
“I don’t have much going on lately, and battling ultimate evil is my dream,” the chubby angel replied. “By the way, I didn’t get the chance to introduce myself last time. My name is Mamba, and I love to punish the evil and promote the good!”

“This guy must be an anime fan,” Chaoyang commented.
Sugami Toshimitsu responded earnestly, “I am willing to fight to eliminate the threat of demons.”
“Stereotypical.”
The puppet girl pointed to herself, “Do I need to say it, too?”
“I want to know your choice, Angel,” K nodded, “But you don’t necessarily have to give a reason.”
“I’ll stay,” she crossed her arms, “As for the reason… I’ll skip that.”
“An angel called Angel? It’s like an angel mother opening the door for an angel, the angel has descended.”
“Keep it down,” Ailuodi chided.
“It’s your turn.”
It was then that she noticed everyone’s gaze had turned to her.
After pondering for a moment, Ailuodi spoke, “I will uncover the truth, and if the root of all evil is the person Mr. K mentioned, I will eliminate him.”
“Don’t you believe the evidence Tiffany left before she died?” Dolly frowned.
“I believe it, but I want to see it with my own eyes.”
As they exchanged looks, K’s statement broke the slightly tense atmosphere, “Actually, as of yesterday, I was unsure whether we could achieve victory in this operation, but after experiencing the enemy’s assault, I’ve grown confident in you.”
“It’s mainly because of Miss Ailuodi,” Toshimitsu didn’t hesitate to say, “As long as she is willing to stay, our strength will greatly increase. But now the question is, do you know where the enemy is? And how did those monsters suddenly appear in the mansion yesterday?”
“Let me answer the second question first,” K gestured to Dan, who took out his phone, pressed a few buttons, and a screen slowly rose from a slot in the floor and started playing a video recording.
“The castle’s surveillance system was forcibly shut down at the time, but the security system at the ramp checkpoint is separate, so it was unaffected.”
With his explanation, the video showed two buses and a sedan. The guards attempted to stop the sedan as usual but were unexpectedly mowed down by a burst of gunfire. Then several masked individuals carrying silenced submachine guns emerged from the car, quickly eliminating all security at the checkpoint. At this moment, the buses floored the accelerator, breaking through the barrier and storming into the private property.
Dan paused the video, zooming in on the image.
Everyone clearly saw that those sitting on the buses were people, not the twisted monsters.
“There was no surveillance footage after that. Fortunately, we found a surviving guard who described that the vehicles didn’t travel far before stopping. The passengers got out and began transforming into monsters…” Dan paused, “In other words, they didn’t just appear out of nowhere; they were brought here in two buses.”
