Myth Beyond Heaven-Chapter 2813: Crisis (3)
Gu Buxiu's remaining eye twitched as he stared at Long Qingxuan. Just moments ago, he had been toying with Lan Qinghe like a cat with a mouse. Now, his entire corpse army had been reduced to ashes with a single strike.
"You..." His voice came out as a rasp. "Back in the God Tomb, you were nothing but an ant beneath my feet!"
Long Qingxuan didn't respond. She simply took a step forward.
Gu Buxiu snarled and raised both hands.
"Come out!"
The earth trembled as thousands of new puppets erupted from the ground - ancient emperors, legendary warriors, even fallen gods whose bodies he had collected over millennia. Each corpse radiated terrifying power, their eyes glowing with cursed energy.
Long Qingxuan didn't slow her pace.
The mark between her brows - the God Mark of Light inherited from her mother, the Dragon Queen of Light - began to glow. A brilliant white radiance erupted from her body, so pure it made the sun look dim in comparison.
The first wave of puppets reached her - novelbuddy.cσ๓
And simply disintegrated upon entering the light's radius. Their cursed flesh vaporized, their dark energy purified before they could even raise their weapons.
Gu Buxiu's jaw dropped. "Impossible!"
He frantically formed hand seals. "Heavenly Corpse Formation!"
The remaining puppets arranged themselves into an intricate battle array, their combined power forming a massive shield of black energy.
Long Qingxuan didn't even break stride. She raised World Ender -
And the God Mark of Light flared brighter.
"Purge."
A beam of pure white light lanced from her sword, piercing straight through the formation. The shield shattered like glass, and the puppets behind it screamed as their bodies turned to dust.
Gu Buxiu stumbled back, his face pale. This wasn't a battle - this was a massacre.
"No...NO!" He clawed at his spatial ring, pulling out his most prized possession - the mummified corpse of an Ancient True God. "You want to play with light? Then face the Shadow of the Dead God!"
The mummy's eyes snapped open, releasing a wave of darkness that swallowed all light for miles.
Long Qingxuan finally stopped walking.
Gu Buxiu grinned madly. "What's wrong? Can't your little light pierce true—"
The darkness split apart as Long Qingxuan's God Mark shone like a supernova. The mummy screamed as its body caught fire, burning with white flames. Within seconds, it was reduced to ashes floating in the wind.
Gu Buxiu's grin froze.
Long Qingxuan took another step forward.
That was enough for Gu Buxiu. He turned and ran, his body dissolving into a cloud of black mist that shot across the battlefield at terrifying speed.
"You can't escape."
Long Qingxuan's voice carried across the distance as she moved, her body transforming into a streak of azure light that pursued the fleeing mist.
Gu Buxiu screamed as he felt her closing in. He tore open a spatial rift with desperate hands -
Only for Long Qingxuan to appear in front of it, her sword already swinging.
"DIE!" Gu Buxiu shrieked, throwing everything he had left - a dozen cursed artifacts, a wave of poisonous miasma, even his own arm which detached and transformed into a suicide bomber puppet.
The God Mark of Light pulsed.
Everything turned white.
When the light faded, the artifacts were gone. The poison was gone. Even Gu Buxiu's explosive arm was gone without leaving ash behind.
The Corpse Refiner stood trembling, his body now missing both arms, his robes tattered. His remaining eye held nothing but terror as he looked at the Dragon Princess.
"How...how did you become this strong?"
Long Qingxuan ignored him and swung the sword down.
The azure edge of World Ender descended toward Gu Buxiu's neck, its glow illuminating the terror in his remaining eye. The blade hummed with the power to erase even a True God's existence—
Then—
RIIP!
A black tear split the air behind Long Qingxuan.
A sword emerged—dark as the void between stars, its edge distorting time itself. It shot toward her back with silent lethality.
Long Qingxuan's pupils contracted.
She twisted, her sword changing trajectory mid-swing to intercept—
CLANG!
The collision sent shockwaves rippling through space, flattening the nearby terrain. The black sword hovered, pressed against World Ender, its wielder still hidden in the void.
Then—
A figure stepped out.
Tall. Calm. Draped in gray robes that seemed to flicker in and out of existence. His eyes—pools of swirling temporal energy—locked onto Long Qingxuan with detached interest.
"Kai Xuan," Lan Qinghe breathed from a distance, her face paling. She recognized Kai Xuan right away as Yun Lintian told her about this person before.
First Rank Chaos Knight.
Kai Xuan tilted his head slightly, his voice smooth yet hollow, like an echo from another era.
"You shouldn't have come alone, Dragon Princess." His fingers flexed around his sword's hilt. "Now you'll be our hostage."
Gu Buxiu's remaining eye widened in manic relief. "Kai Xuan! Kill her! Kill—"
A flick of Kai Xuan's wrist.
Time stuttered around Gu Buxiu—and he vanished, teleported away before he could finish his sentence.
Lan Qinghe lunged forward, vines erupting from the earth to intercept—
Kai Xuan didn't even glance her way. He snapped his fingers—
And Lan Qinghe froze, trapped in a temporal bubble, her body immobilized mid-motion.
Long Qingxuan's grip on World Ender tightened.
Kai Xuan studied her, unbothered. "You're strong. But time bows to no one."
He moved.
Not through space—but through time itself.
One moment he stood before her—the next, his blade was already at her throat, having skipped the interval between actions.
Long Qingxuan leaned back—
A thin red line appeared on her neck as the tip grazed her skin.
Kai Xuan's brow lifted slightly. "Oh? You can still dodge it?"
She didn't respond. Her azure scales flared, and she swung.
"Dragon's Wrath."
The blade carved through the air—but Kai Xuan was no longer there. He reappeared ten paces away, his sword resting casually on his shoulder.
"Too weak."
Long Qingxuan exhaled slowly. This opponent was different.
She adjusted her stance.
Then—
BOOM!
She blasted forward, her sword trailing azure fire. Kai Xuan blocked, but the force sent him skidding back—
Only for his body to flicker and stabilize as he rewound the impact's effect on himself.
Long Qingxuan furrowed her brow tightly. Kai Xuan was stronger than she thought. He was even more stronger when he met Yun Lintian back then.
Kai Xuan almost smiled. "Do you think what I am doing all this time? Of course, I can improve as well."
He thrust his sword forward—
And the blade phased through time, striking at Long Qingxuan from three different moments simultaneously—past, present, and future…
