From his gaze alone she could tell he certainly wasn't weak.

Hearing approaching footsteps, Xiao Fang pulled his blindfold back down. A few moments later, the floor clerk stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

"Hello, are you interested in buying these twin blades?"

"We are," Xiao Fang replied.

"As you can see, they will be auctioned off tonight, you might be able to get your hands on them if you're lucky. But a bit of information on these twin blades: they were forged from a rare alloy that reacts to spiritual energy, which makes them great conductors and amplifiers of certain types of spirit attributes. The formation inscriptions on their hilts serve as conduits, allowing the user to store and release two separate Spirit Attribute Qis at once. Their origin remains shrouded in mystery, but they were discovered in an ancient tomb belonging to a once-mighty Heavenly Realm cultivator."

"Certain types?" Xiao Fang repeated the clerk's words.

"Light and dark types to be exact," the clerk clarified.

There were several different spirit attributes that fell under the light and dark category. Lightning based attributes like Xiao Fang's [ True Immortal Lightning Tribulation ] fell under the light category.

The clerk found it strange that Xiao Fang didn't already know about this kind of stuff, but he was still happy to help answer any of his questions.

Xiao Fang exhaled slowly. A weapon of this caliber was a rare find. Not only would it complement his new dual-wielding style, but the ability to channel and store his Lightning spirit attribute would boost his battle power considerably.

"I'll just have to bid for them at tonight's auction."

Yu Lan's expression brightened at his decision. "I had a feeling you'd like them!"

Xiao Fang turned toward her, a slight smirk on his lips. "You chose well."

Yu Lan beamed, clearly pleased with his approval.

"If you intend to take part in tonight's auction, this badge will serve as your entry pass," the clerk said, handing Xiao Fang a jade token etched with elegant inscriptions.

"Thank you."

Xiao Fang turned to leave, and Xiao Hei followed, glancing back one last time at the gathered crowd before stepping outside with him.

"And where are we going now?"

Xiao Fang adjusted his blindfold and smiled. "To find Chu Piao."

The moment Xiao Fang and Xiao Hei left, Grandmaster Qi confronted Yu Lan. Seeing him approaching, she quickly cupped her hands and paid her respects to him. "Elder, this junior greets you."

No need for formalities, especially considering the reason why I came to speak to you.

"Is there something you need from me?"

"I'm curious about your answer. What did you guess during the competition?"

"Ah that…" Yu Lan still had no confirmation whether or not her answer was correct, so she was a little embarrassed to say it considering how silly it could sound. "I guessed it was his blindfold."

"His blindfold?" Grandmaster Qi echoed before going into deep thought. "Tell me the train of thought you had leading up to that discovery."

Truthfully, Yu Lan was relieved that Grandmaster Qi wasn't treating her like an idiot for her guess, so she slowly explained her thought process.

"I guess how it started was when I learned that he had a spatial ring."

"Ah, so you noticed it too. For someone so young, you have remarkable appraisal skills," Grandmaster Qi praised.

Yu Lan smiled awkwardly, because the truth was that she saw him use it when Xiao Fang stored the Dragon Dynasty Spear into it.

"What were your next thoughts," Grandmaster Qi urged her to continue, deeply invested in her thought process.

"Well, I suppose the next thing I thought was, how could a spatial ring holder not be a cultivator? but I couldn't feel his realms, he had no presence at all."

"There was a strong chance he could've been a non-cultivator, or at least a weak one."

"I trusted my instincts, especially when I looked at his physique, it screamed cultivator, and since I couldn't feel his presence, it could only mean that he possessed a cultivation concealment artifact. Such things are incredibly rare and even more difficult to detect."

"But how did you know it would be his blindfold of all things?"

Hearing the details of his words, Yu Lan started to suspect that Xiao Fang had told Grandmaster Qi her answer was right after all. The thought of that made her smile beautifully as she said her next words.

"It's because I noticed a simple fact."

"That is?"

"He isn't blind."

Grandmaster Qi became speechless, "But how…" he murmured to himself, thinking about how she could've known that, but thinking back on it, the only time he ever thought Xiao Fang was blind was when he saw the blindfold, but he never once came off as a person with impaired sight.

Continuing where she left off, Yu Lan said,

"So I asked myself, 'Why would a seeing man wear a blindfold?' That's when I knew."

"I see. That was quite the discovery. I'm quite impressed," Grandmaster Qi replied.

Yu Lan couldn't help feeling extremely accomplished hearing Grandmaster Qi compliment her like that.

'This girl… certainly has some unique ability,' Grandmaster Qi thought.

"Little one, I understand how improper this may seem, but I must ask, would you like to become my direct disciple?"

Yu Lan's excitement turned to shock.

"Well?" Grandmaster Qi said.

Cupping her hands, Yu Lan quickly replied,

"Grandmaster, if you are offering, how could I decline? I would love to be your disciple."

"Good. Good, then you'll be in my care from now on. Just because your eyes and mind are exceptional, don't expect me to go easy on you."

"Yes, Master."

Meanwhile, sitting on top a Jadepeak city wall, Xiao Hei, with her sharp eyes, looked around trying to see if there was anyone resembling Chu Piao coming, while Xiao Fang paid attention to his surroundings with his hearing. They stayed on that wall for hours till the sun eventually went down.

"Fang, is he really coming?"

Chu Piao was a straightforward and punctual person. If he said he was going to do something, he certainly would.

"We'll wait a little longer."

However even after the sun had gone down there was still no sign of Chu Piao.

"Let's go. We're going to be late for the auction. We'll come back tomorrow."

Meanwhile in a minor sect in the QiGon province. Chu Piao was still being restrained by the elder who discovered him in a village.

"Wake up, we have some questions for you."
