"This… Someone had just put in a bid for one hundred and fifty gold teals!!" The announcer said. "Going once, going twice…"

Xiao Fang was reluctant to pay more than 150 gold teals, but if he wanted the 2nd sword, it was now or never. However, before he could lock in his bid, another bid was suddenly made, but not even the announcer could believe what he was seeing,

"We have a bid for two hundred and seven gold teals!" the auctioneer said with wide eyes.

Xiao Fang was done. Whoever these two people were, they certainly knew something about the sword others didn't.

"Sold! For two hundred gold teals!"

Uninterested in seeing what else was on the list, Xiao Fang wanted to get up and go, but the moment he heard what was next on the list, he decided to wait.

"Next up the list, we have one of the most durable weapons to ever be sold on this stage. The Jade Dragon Talons. They are light, powerful, versatile, and unbreakable under any amount of force.

Seeing the robed demonstrator put on a jade band around his palm, it reminded Xiao Fang of the time the Patriarch of the Scavenger Sect used it against him. That weapon alone made the Patriarch difficult for Xiao Fang to deal with. Although he was holding back considerably so as to not leave any evidence behind, it still took far too much effort for him to win.

"We'll start the bid at thirty-five gold teals."

'Why so high?" Xiao Hei thought out loud.

The starting bid was more than twice the starting amounts for the twin blades combined.

What Xiao Hei didn't consider was the fact that unlike the other items on the list, the Jade Dragon Talons had real usability for most of the cultivators in the room. Hardly anyone there were swordsmen, even less were dual swordsmen, and very few cultivators had 1 spirit attribute, much less 2. However, just about every cultivator had 2 hands to use the Jade Dragon Talon, and their versatility and power output alone would give them an extremely high advantage in a fight.

The bid for the Jade Dragon Talons quickly rose over 100 gold teals, the bids only started to slow down once it approached 200 gold teals.

"One hundred and ninety-five! Can I get a one-ninety-five?"

"Two hundred and twenty-five! Going once, going twice…" The auctioneer paused, giving people the chance to consider putting in a final bid. "Sold for two hundred and twenty-five gold teals!"

"Those claws really sold for that much? Fang, you should've let me keep them," Xiao Hei frowned as she removed her face from the glass to look back at him.

Xiao Fang smiled wearily.

"Maybe next time."

If he'd known people would pay so much for the blades, Xiao Fang might have been a little more hesitant to put them up for auction.

Suddenly, the casket next to Xiao Fang's chair opened and inside he saw 180 gold teals waiting for him to collect. That brought the total amount of money Xiao Fang had to 386,559, that was approximately 386 gold teals.

Xiao Hei's eyes sparkled with unrestrained excitement.

"We're rich!"

Xiao Fang, however, didn't share her enthusiasm. He didn't have much use for money—at least, not yet. Still, something about the way the auction had been structured made him suspicious. The biggest items were clearly being saved for last.

And right on cue, the lights shifted again.

Several cultivators emerged from behind the curtains and began assembling something on the stage. From the way they moved—with practiced precision and clear reverence—it was obvious they were preparing to unveil something important.

Then, the auctioneer stepped aside and was replaced by a new figure.

A man in golden robes took center stage, adorned with ornate jewelry that shimmered under the crystal lights. His presence was commanding, his every gesture refined. Even his aura shifted the mood in the hall—immense, but not hostile.

Behind him, five more men stepped forward, standing silently like guards, forming a semicircle as if protecting whatever was about to be revealed.

Xiao Hei leaned forward, whispering, "That guy… he's definitely strong."

Xiao Fang nodded slowly.

'He's a Heavenly realm cultivator. No doubt about it,' Xiao Fang thought to himself.

The man on stage gave a warm, practiced smile and spoke clearly.

"Good evening, honored guests. I hope you've all enjoyed the auction thus far. It's my pleasure to present the final item on tonight's itinerary." He paused, letting the tension rise. "If you've attended one of our auctions before… then I'm sure you already know what's coming."

On cue, attendants carried scrolls onto the stage—each one encased in protective containers. They arranged them in a careful row, until 21 scrolls stood side by side beneath the lights.

Xiao Hei gasped.

Even Xiao Fang rose to his feet, eyes narrowing.

New novel chapt𝒆rs are published on ƒгeewebnovёl.com.

"Spirit Attribute scrolls," he muttered in disbelief.

Yet something was strange.

For most, only a handful of the scrolls glowed faintly with inscriptions and elemental auras. The rest looked completely blank—no Qi, no markings, no light.

A ripple of confusion swept through the auction hall.

"Are those fake?"

"Why can I only see some of them?"

"Some? I can't see any!"

"Is this some kind of trick? I can't accept this."

The murmurs quickly turned to light complaints and grumbling voices as more and more people voiced their frustration.

That's when Xiao Hei burst into laughter, grinning smugly at the noise.

"Idiots, Spirit Attributes only reveal themselves to people they deem worthy of their power. Whichever ones you can see… those are the ones you actually have a chance of assimilating with."

Those who were knowledgeable about the matter, remained silent and focused on the glowing scrolls in front of them. For some, this was merely an opportunity to see which type of Spirit Attributes resonated with them, learning this now might help them decide which path of cultivation to take down the road.

Xiao Hei then turned to Xiao Fang with a playful glint in her eyes.

"So, Fang… which ones can you see?"

Xiao Fang remained still for a moment, gaze steady, before finally replying:

"All of them."
