Kushina rubbed her cheeks, which were red not from shyness—but from Shin pinching them.
Earlier, Kushina had deliberately provoked Tsunade, trying to start a fight. Shin, naturally, had to punish her a little.
"Damn it! I'll bite you to death next time!" Kushina threatened Shin, flailing her arms.
"Mikoto, don't hold me back! I'll show him how fierce Kushina Uzumaki can be!"
"I'm not holding you back. Go ahead," Mikoto said with a smile.
Kushina looked at Mikoto resentfully. Why wasn't she playing along?
"Come here, Kushina. Let's see how you'll 'show me.' Come on, why are you hiding so far away?" Shin chuckled.
"I'm not going over there! I'm not an idiot! I won't walk right into your bullying! If you want to bully someone, go bully Mikoto!" Kushina pointed at Mikoto, who was sitting right beside her.
Mikoto's smile froze for a split second, then she shot Kushina a dark look.
Under Mikoto's glare, Kushina felt a bit embarrassed, a pang of guilt rising within her.
"Shin-nii, where did you actually go?" Konan asked Shin curiously.
"To Konoha. It was quite lively there. The Uchiha Clan launched a coup, then got wiped out." Shin told the girls.
"The Uchiha Clan was wiped out?" Mei Terumī exclaimed in surprise, then looked towards Mikoto.
Mikoto's expression flickered for a moment—Although she had left the Uchiha Clan long ago and didn't have much attachment left, hearing this news still saddened her slightly.
"Why did the Uchiha Clan launch a coup?" Mikoto asked Shin. She didn't understand why the Uchiha, living in Konoha, would resort to such measures.
"Konoha's leadership had always marginalized the Uchiha Clan. Perhaps the Uchiha couldn't endure it any longer," Tsunade answered before Shin could.
She knew the situation well. Even before she left Konoha, the Uchiha Clan had faced constant discrimination. In Tsunade's view, it was remarkable the Uchiha had lasted this long.
The marginalization began long ago, even before Madara Uchiha's supposed death. Madara leaving Konoha was partly due to this.
Hashirama Senju hadn't discriminated against the Uchiha; in fact, he treated them quite well.
But his younger brother, Tobirama Senju, was different. Tobirama hated the Uchiha and naturally pushed them aside.
Coupled with the Uchiha's poor relations with other clans, constant marginalization eventually led to an explosion. It was almost inevitable. But it was unexpected that the Uchiha Clan ended up destroying themselves like this.
"Sigh... two great clans, both gone now," Tsunade sighed. She was referring to the Senju and Uchiha, the two rival founding clans.
"Didn't expect you to be so sentimental." Shin looked at Tsunade strangely.
"Can't I feel a little nostalgic?" Tsunade rolled her eyes at Shin.
"Sure, I didn't say you couldn't. I'm taking Karin and Hinata to train."
Shin stood up, taking the two little girls with him to the training grounds.
———
"Hinata, have you learned the Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms I taught you?" Shin asked Hinata, looking down at her.
"Shin-nii, I've learned it." Hinata replied, her face flushed red. Though she lived with Shin and the others now, she was still incredibly shy.
"Good job, Hinata." Shin patted Hinata's small head, praising her to boost her confidence.
Being patted on the head by Shin, Hinata's face turned crimson. Steam seemed to rise from her head. She swayed unsteadily for a couple of steps, then fell backward.
Seeing Hinata about to fall, Shin quickly caught her. Looking at the fainted Hinata, Shin sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"She didn't used to faint from shyness before. Why is she getting more shy as she gets older?" Shin couldn't understand it.
Karin, standing nearby, was unfazed. The first time she saw this happen, she had been terrified, thinking something terrible had happened to Hinata. But after witnessing it multiple times, she wasn't surprised anymore.
"We'll wait for Hinata to wake up before continuing her training. For now, I'll teach you." Shin looked at Karin, deciding to instruct her first.
"Okay, Shin-sama!" Karin looked at Shin happily.
Ever since Shin brought her back—Karin had always addressed him as "Shin-sama." Even though Shin had corrected her several times, she hadn't changed.
"Have you learned the Rasengan I taught you?" Shin asked Karin.
"Mm-hmm, I've learned it." Karin then demonstrated her progress, using the Rasengan to punch a hole through a large tree.
Karin was only eight years old, yet she had already learned the A-rank Ninjutsu, Rasengan. This was partly because the Rasengan was relatively easy to learn compared to other A-rank techniques.
"Although your chakra reserves are considerable, Karin, teaching you S-rank jutsu now... you probably wouldn't be able to perform them."
As an Uzumaki, Karin naturally had large chakra reserves. But being young, her reserves weren't yet sufficient for S-rank jutsu.
"For now, continue practicing the Rasengan. You're not quite proficient yet. Then, I'll teach you the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu."
The Uzumaki Clan's true specialty lay in Fūinjutsu.
When people thought of the Uzumaki Clan, they typically thought of longevity, vast chakra reserves, and terrifying sealing techniques.
Most powerful sealing techniques in the Shinobi world originated from the Uzumaki Clan, after all.
"Sealing Jutsu?" Karin's face lit up with anticipation. She was eager for Shin to teach her.
Until now, Shin had focused on teaching Karin Ninjutsu, not Fūinjutsu. He wanted her to master one thing at a time; learning too much at once could lead to mastering nothing.
Now that Karin had made progress in Ninjutsu, she was ready to start learning Fūinjutsu.
"Practice the Rasengan first. Then I'll teach you Sealing Jutsu," Shin said to the eager Karin with a smile.
"When you want to practice Sealing Jutsu later, you can ask Kushina to teach you. I'm sure Kushina would be happy to help," Shin added.
Kushina enjoyed teaching. If Karin asked her for guidance on Fūinjutsu, Kushina would definitely agree enthusiastically.
"Can't Shin-sama teach me?"
"Of course, I can teach you. But if I'm busy, you can ask Kushina. If I have time, naturally, I'll guide your training."
